Welcome! Congrats on your new addition and good luck on your weight loss journey!
-
That's a great accomplishment, and I'm sure it's a wonderful feeling! Congrats!
-
I forgot today was weigh in... so I didn't. Congrats fatty78 and Momma2four on your losses! And to Leshawn, I think you have the right outlook- don't give up! Your fighting will pay off!

It's been about five years now. Man, I'm getting old :ohwell: When was the last time... you swan in a natural body of water?
-
How is everyone doing? I've managed to meet my goal the past two days! But it will probably take a few more to really get into habit.

Hi, David! Welcome back.

The cheat that I think gets me in the most trouble is taking bites while I'm preparing a meal. Ya know, test the sauce, sample the cheese, etc. The "it's just one bite" method adds up quickly when you do it several times over the course of a day. . .

Great loss! Congrats!
-
It should be, considering you put enough effort into it.

I agree with your views. I've been a slave to daily weigh-ins before, and though there were definite pros to weighing daily (it kept me brutally to-the-calorie honest each day) it also tends to create a chaotic and unhealthy obsession. I'm now only weighing in about once a week (I don't set a particular day, just whenever…

Thanks, Timothy! That's an awesome tool, and something I've really been in need of. My walking route mostly consists of a bike trail that the city constructed several years ago, but I've never been able to find any info on how long it actually is. I did the math the best I could but have often wondered if I'm actually…

That last part irritates me too. I choose not to believe, however, that my tap water is any worse than 20 ounce bottles of water that cost $2, so I simply buy a fifty cent gallon of water, drink it and refill it under the tap. So long as it's cold, I don't care! LoL That's a good point about letting your body dictate water…

Thanks for this! I just started focusing on my water intake yesterday. I was definitely less hungry throughout the day.

Go to: My Home, Settings, Diary Settings. It'll bring up a series of drop-downs that you can customize.

I'll have to give it a try. I'm not big on popcorn, but I have been eating those 100 cal packs on nights that I feel really hungry and/or snacky. The "butter" ones I just bought are terrible and tasteless, so maybe I'll fancy it up a bit with this idea and see how it works.

Welcome to MFP  Good luck!

Actually, one of the few areas I got lucky in is that I can actually lose weight fairly easily. However, I gain amazingly fast as well. I was on Met all last year and for the beginning of this year. I noticed that it did help me drop weight without even dieting (not dramatically, but enough to count! lol) However, I was…

I have PCOS. I don't know if there are any forums here for the subject, but I can recommend a great site which has a dedicated community specifically for the condition: soulcysters.net I would definitely encourage you to check it out! They deal with everything- infertility, hair growth, weight loss, hormonal imbalances,…

Welcome to MFP!!! :drinker: This site definitely makes it super easy to keep track of your day to day goals and is an excellent tool for weight loss. You'll find many success stories here. Good to have you on board and lots of luck!

I'm of the mind that treating yourself every now and again is absolutely necessary.

You are not alone! Welcome back!!!

Hi, ladies! Hope you're all doing well with your water intake. I.... well, I have failed miserably the last couple of days! 20 ounces each day is all I managed. But today I am halfway to my goal and am determined to meet that goal.
-
That sounds really simple and yummy. I WILL be trying it! Thank you!

LoL! I was just playing around with mine. I find it highly motivating, don't get me wrong. But I'll hit it several times a day (out of boredom) and I hate watching the number go up and up as I take in calories throughout the day. It's nowhere near accurate, though. As long as I stay true to my calorie goal and exercise…

I'm still waiting for my motivation to quit. I have the desire, but I'm currently using all my willpower for dieting.
-
For now I'm shooting for the standard 64 ounces per day.
-
 I thought this was hilarious! Good method! Congrats on the loss!
-
What a wonderful achievement! Congratulations!!!!:flowerforyou:

It's my opinion, and I'm speaking only for myself, that if I were to ever hit my goal weight, I would have to continue counting calories to maintain. The fact is, after eating a certain way for so long, you SHOULD be able to visualize your portions and subconciously make healthy choices, but I know I would start sneaking…

Interesting! Do you know if the Almond Milk counts the same as regular milk for dairy servings? I might have to try this out. My dietician wants me to focus on getting three servings of dairy a day and wants me to start drinking more milk. I have a hard time with this because I HATE drinking calories. But 70's not so bad…
