They are a great "safety" exercise, you can pull yourself out of a pool, into a boat, up and out a window, etc.

The trick is to just do the negative part to begin with, get a step so you can reach the bar, then lower yourself down, do that 10 times a day and within 2 weeks you will have strengthen your lats, rotator cuffs and biceps to the point you will be able to pull yourself up (positive part). They make a great looking back, so…

I feel the same way, the fat *kitten* won't die, he's brought up and spoken of every day, RIP Fat Man!

VerY, very, very, amusing.

I jumped a puddle and landed 3 feet past my aimed landing point.

It's my method also and I find it works. But I chase maximum nutrition out of my calories. I see a LOT of people over estimating their exercise calories, so eating them all back isnt an exact science.
-
Firstly I am wrapt that you're getting back into lifting. Lifting for toning is not possible, toning is done by weight loss, remove the fat to see the muslce and lifting is done for building muscle. You're doing great on the weight loss so you will see them muscles working very soon. You have dumbbells which is about all…

See my blog, some there.

Just between you and me... Reduce calories and increase exercise, but keep it to yourself OK.
-
Its all about nutrition, not calories. You CAN increase muscle mass and loose weight, and it can be measured. I couldn't do a dumbbell press with more than 10kg when I started now I press 35kg in each hand, I couldn't do a sit up, now I can do 250, I couldn't do a pushup, now I can do 100, I couldn't do a chin up, now I…

+1, but I will also add, that you need to do resistance training to build any large quantity of muscle, walking around the block won't turn 300lbs of fat into 300lbs of muscle, even with all the steroids in the world.
-
LOL Where do these myths come from? Eat them, they are good for you, great nutrition.

You're only obsessed when you weigh yourself after a hair cut. In never hurts to see what your body is doing. You will see the natural fluctuations throughout the day, after eating, a drink of water, some exercise or evacuations. Just don't get upset after you've eaten or had a drink.

Pregnant,,,, what 9 lbs, I was carrying a 100lb monster... http://www.bodyfatguide.com/LooseSkin.htm

It's an amazing thing skin, it comes back and wraps you tight as a drum. You will get some loose areas, but they are just skin with bits of fat still loitering around, once the fat is moved, as your body likes to spread it about, or burnt off, the skin comes back, and it comes back tight, it feels much tighter over muscle…

Tell the sook to grow up, what a tool! You're any easy target and he's taking advantage. Get rid of the boy and go find a man.

Their time with us is so short, don't waste it by laying in bed, give them a good life and improve yours in the process.

Its normal, weight loss isn't half a pound a day, every day. If you've done the work and eaten right, it's coming. Without being graphic, it's on it's way out of you. You are not suffering starvation and you're body isn't clinging onto food, nor is it slowing down. Up your fibre if you've cut back on your food intake, sit…

I could not have said it better, you need the fuel to get moving, especially if you are doing exercise, breakfast is breaking the fast. It presses the gas pedal for the day.
-
Well said mate.

I had come to the end of clothes sizes, end of wetsuit sizes, my bike tyres wouldn't hold me, my side of the bed was coming apart, I would sweat and have prickly heat on cool days, the couch had an imprint of my *kitten* and my surfboard wouldn't float, nearly put my back out trying to wipe my bum. Sorry but you asked.…

I hear you, I've done the same, loosing weight isn't linear, it's not black and white, but the longer you stick at it, you have more good weeks than bad. Thats what takes off pounds. This isn't a race, it's for the rest of your life. Don't beat yourself up, you're aware what your doing and over time, if you keep at it, you…

So let me get this right, you have now changed tact from accusing the OP from being smug to this being a MFP issue (no one can see your diary if you choose) and in the process hijacked an excellent, educational thread and made it all about you.

Double post

Wow... well for one I like to seem how others eat, I have learnt so much seeing how NOT to eat being on here. I think your comments are off the mark, I don't see anything smug in the post. 517 posts for 3 pounds lost, is that from typing?

Yep get some taken, the most unflattering possible, them give them to someone else. I deleted all mine but 3 came home to roost and they made me feel sick to the core. But they do give a good indication of how far the journey has been. So shirt off!

Always believe the scales that weigh you lighter.

Yes, you're right, it's like my life has had the reset button pressed, I am new to the world, the world doesn't recognise me. (not bad if you owe money I guess).
