Way to go- you look amazing! LOVE the "after" dress!

I bought "Betty Crocker the 300 Calorie Cook Book" from Amazon and it has some awesome meals. I think it cost around $12, and though it doesn't have that many pictures, it had really good reviews. Although I haven't counted, based on page numbers, I'm guessing it has right around 300 recipes, or slightly more. I know this…

Way to go- it is so exciting isn't it?!

One of the things I've done is that I haven't really changed my eating habits. I've never been a big veggie eater, so I haven't made myself eat tons of salads. They just don't satisfy me, I get frustrated and irritable, and I quit trying. I DO count my calories. I make sure if I have pizza that I have one or two servings…

Welcome, welcome! We have very similar goals, so send me an ol' friend request if you'd like, and we'll do this together!

You DO look fabulous!

I don't know what everyone's exercise regimen is, but when I walk for at least 30 minutes at least every other day, I find this type of problem really takes care of itself. Also, in the past I tried drinking high protein drinks (like SlimFast) and they really caused constipation, so if you're working on a high protein…

I am soooooo like this! I'm glad you asked because I found a lot of helpful suggestions. One thing I've noticed about myself is lack of activity often triggers desire to eat. This past weekend, for example, I watched WAY too much tv, and that sedentary activity left me bored and needing a distraction, so I turned to food.…

Beautiful both before and after, but so happy for your after, because when you work this hard for something, it is GOLD!

You look amazing!

Trying the raw grated apples and carrots salad... It tastes great, but what else goes with? Going to experiment!

I'm 5'9", and began at 298, but honestly, I've always felt really girly. I still dress up and do all that girly stuff. BUT when I was in college, I weighed around 220 and went on diet pills. I got down to 180lbs, and I totally loved it. I wore dresses all the time. I definitely look forward to that! I still wear them now,…

I was so inspired by everyone's before and after pictures, that I took before pictures (in my swim suit!) so I'd have pics to compare to when I get smaller. I'm not ready to post any yet, but like someone else said, we're all family here, working toward similar goals. Other people are very rarely more harsh judges than…

Congrats on all the hard work and best of all the RESULTS! You look fantastic.

Congrats! My ahha moment came when I was shopping and couldn't wait to get out to my car so I could unbutton my pants. When I got out there, I found that they were already unbuttoned! I was that miserable, and wearing pants that weren't even buttoned. I tell you this because last weekend I put those same jeans on and they…

Lol- as previoiusly stated- um, NO! But thanks for making me smile!

Welcome! Just do one step at a time, so you don't overwhelm yourself! Some people are very religious about counting every single little thing- water, sodium, protein, etc. But very few start out that way. I just joined a little over three weeks ago (I know it says April 2010, but I joined, then promptly did nothing about…

The sad thing is, that was the reality. Until my grandmother passed away, she still waited on my grandpa hand and foot. If he was out of tea, he'd rattle the ice in his glass. My uncle, who never moved out of their house, would do the same. She'd just get up and get them some more. It may seem hilarious to people today,…

I've tried to drink 8 glasses of WATER, so that's cut way down on my ability to consume pop, and there may come a point in the future when I cut pop out completely, but for now I'm trying not to overwhelm myself with too many changes right on top of one another. So, I'll keep drinking my diet cherry Dr Pepper! I mean, it…

I loved to roller skate as a little girl, and in my early 20s I bought a pair of roller blades. I loved either one, but I will admit that I found the roller blades to be harder on my ankles. Of course that could be due to size and age! =) A little anecdote: My baby sister was 13 and I was 25 and she and I went…

I tried this one first, and it is AMAZING! Here are the steps I found online (somewhere! sorry, can't cite better!): 1. slice apples thin (keep them uniform; I used a slicer) 2. lay them in a single layer on a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan 3. sprinkle with cinnamon (I also added a tiny bit of cloves, and boy, did the…

Thank you all for your input and advice! I didn't realize I made my knees sound so bad! :embarassed: Because of your advice, however, I did cancel the Shred video from Netflix. I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do yet. The idea about hiring a personal trainer really sparks my interest, and Curves is opening up a…

That's the first thing that attracts me as well. (I'm 5'9".) Then it is the teeth and shoulders, not sure in which order! =)

this is totally awesome- and like everyone else, I appreciate your sharing it!

The more I add exercise, the more energetic I feel. I haven't really changed any of my eating habits yet. I just control the number of calories I consume. I do agree that it could be the foods, but it could also be TOM related, or it could be due to being stuck indoors for the past two weeks. I bet as soon as you're back…

Start out a lot smaller than 30 minutes. Walk for 10 minutes. Add just one more minute the next day, and so on. It may not be a "fast" solution, but when faced with exhaustion it is better to move some than none at all. Another option- work out first thing when you get up in the morning.

I agree a thousand percent! I used to watch it, but it is so unrealistic. I mean, if the only way those people could lose the weight was to be in a tiny tiny minority that made it onto the show, then what does that say for everyone else? Plus, I always get pissed when the contestants say "If I can do it, anyone can do it."…
