I use almond flour and ground flax meal to make my minute muffins. It makes for a good bread replacement. They won't taste like white or wheat bread, but good enough to replace them and hold sandwiches together. http://www.lisassimplelife.com/one-minute-muffin-low-carb-gluten-free/

From experience, it helps me lose weight faster. Also, I like how I feel when I'm done working out. I think it's good for long term health as well.

I will have to let you know how I do. I am just starting to track calories/carbs and work out 6 days a week for an hour of cardio. I should say that I do not have a set calorie amount a day though. I like to keep my carbs under 20g a day.

I track my calories and carbs, but I don't have a set calorie amount. I just want to make sure I am getting enough fat, and track my carbs. I track calories only because if I ever stall, I want to take a look at my diary as a whole to see if I'm experiencing carb creep or something else. I find that I generally fall in the…

I found out eliminating certain foods make me feel crappy and bloated when I reintroduce them in my diet. They will DEF be avoided.

I eat paleo/low carb but I still have dairy. Honestly, I went this route only because I remembered years ago when I followed a similar plan and was never hungry. I don't have to count calories if I don't want to, but what I wanted was the sanity of not having the cravings and appetite suppression is awesome. When I…

I do, but I try not to call them cheat days. I had one yesterday since I'm on TOM and was craving some things. Only had a hand full of chips/dip, had a cookie from a batch I made my BF, and had some slices of pizza for dinner. I had lost 6.4lbs in 7 days so I figured eating a few things during TOM wasn't going to ruin me.…

I use coconut oil for my food, and on my skin! You can typically find the "refined" coconut oil at Walmart, and that kind doesn't taste like coconut oil at all. However, I buy both the refined and unrefined. Some food shouldn't taste like coconut LOL! You can find several references to the health benefits of coconut oil…

I've never seeked help for my binge eating disorder. It stemmed from early childhood where I first suffered from EDNOS and starvation, and eventually led me to binge eating. The only thing that has truly helped me was a low carb diet. I don't know why, but it has worked for me. Maybe because I don't think about food as…

- I hate how I feel and look with the extra weight. I gained it fast due to stress. - I don't want to have the health problems my family has - Too look good in what I wear, and to feel good about how I look - I've feel like on and off in my 20's I've been on an on and off diet. I was at my goal weight once in my teens, but…

I know a girl from my high school who just went to this. She got in great shape for it! She posted pics on her FB page and I had to ask her what Tough Mudder was LOL.

After seeing an aunt I haven't seen in years and after a big weight gain due to a stressful year... "Now you look like part of the family! You looked anorexic before." My whole family is obese, and over 200lbs. I've been 120-130lbs mostly due to healthy eating habits and exercise. Even when I was maintaining and I would…

Honestly, I've had no problems eating low/moderate carbs. It's helped me clean up my diet, reduce my caffeine intake, and drink more water vs diet soda and anything with aspartame. If anything, I need to increase my fruits and veggies a little more since I am a picky eater, and I am working on it. The problem I have with…

I ALWAYS have coffee with stevia and half and half. Approx 2 cups per day. The only thing I did change was that I switched up to decaf and that is only because I take a workout supplement and I wanted to control my caffeine more. Usually on the weekends I have regular. Can't live without it!

Thanks for the comments everyone, and yes I realize it is water weight, but it's my choice to eat this way. I'm not on Atkins, I've never proclaimed to be. This is how I eat, and I like it and can sustain it. I have no fantasies of losing 20lbs in two weeks, but I'm going with what has made me feel the best out of…

I really love reading books like Wheat Belly, and it really is frustrating. For one, I was always an advocate on eating wheat because.. well that's what we were taught. I didn't read studies, it's just what we were told is healthy in school and what to eat when you want to lose weight. My interest has always been in…

My favorite meal to make is Low Carb Chicken Nuggets, and you can virtually use the crust for any recipe when you want a crunch! LC crust: ground pork rinds salt pepper Mrs. Dash Itialian medly Parmesan Cheese (the kind in a can) cayenne pepper Cut up raw chicken into pieces that look like nuggets. Then, dip the chicken in…

Which meal replacements are you doing? I am using the Low Carb Slim Fast shakes mixed with 1/2 cup unsweetened Almond milk. I prefer doing that because regular Slim Fast shakes have so much sugar in them.

I took the shot last April and I wish I hadn't. I gained 20lbs in a MONTH!
-
That sounds shockingly similar to some of the comments I've heard over the last few months. At my thinnest, I was 120lbs but mostly 130-135lbs until I joined the army and went up to 150lbs. I inevitably got down to 140lbs and stayed there for awhile. After a mix of working with a deploying unit, stress, no life, and taking…

I had a Mexican Hot Pocket for Breakfast LOL! Not a healthy breakfast, but it killed a craving. And now I'm drinking some coffee.

My two biggest temptations are pizza and tacos. Yesterday was my first real day getting serious with MFP and calorie counting. What I do is figure out my calories in the morning and space them out during the day, and I'm also drinking two slim fast shakes a day right now. More for the sanity of not have to figure out EVERY…

This will keep me full for a while: 2 -3 eggs scrambled 1 serving cottage cheese 2 high fiber toast with butter Higher in calories, but it does keep me full for hours! Lunches for me are a little less calories so just as long as I have a big breakfast, I'm usually pretty good.

I'm in! Hoping to lose at least 10lbs this month. Yesterday I started logging. CW: 193.4 May Goal: 183.4 GW: 120
-
My goals are: 1) Log my calories every day on MFP 2) 6 days a week of TapouT XT workout video 3) Lose 10lbs 4) Weigh in once a week on Mondays

I've heard different arguments on this. I've heard under 100 grams is considered "low carb" but to me 100 grams is more moderate carb. I think it depends on you really. I feel better watching my carbs, and keeping them under 100 carbs since I notice I feel much better, and little to no cravings.
-
Wow you look like a completely different person! Very inspiring!
-
I have a love/hate relationship with it myself. However.. I do look awesome once I keep it up! I'd start out at least 3x a week.
-
I've done both and each work well. I actually lose weight better with as little carbs as possible, but that's hard to do long term since I will get bored. However, I do watch my carbs and prefer to carb cycle to lose weight. Works wonders!

I make a good "chocolate milk" made with protein and unsweetened almond milk. 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk (you can use chocolate) 1 tbsp flax seed oil 2 raw eggs 15 grams chocolate whey protein (about half a serving) 2 packets splenda (when I'm out of stevia) The chocolate is light enough to not taste like whey…
