Wow! You really can see the difference! Congrats! How long did you train to get this transformation? And what kind of exercise have you done?
-
Absolutely! Good for you sticking with it even when it's hard!

Sounds like you have a reasonable goal - that's a good start! I'm 48 and am only looking at 10 pounds at a time. It's too overwhelming for me to look at more. I'd be happy to support you in the process. I live in Alaska, so my time zone is a bit off from many people on the site. But that doesn't mean I'm not paying…

There is a "group" of "over 40 people" Check it out: Women 40+ (Search for it under the "community" tab)

well, there are several "hard core" responses here, and they have their place. But another approach is to start slow and take small steps that you CAN manage. Check in every day even if you don't log. Work on getting enough water. I suggest finding one thing you can add each week. Motivation can be elusive, but if you can…

It seems pretty strange to me that a doc would say that if your foot hurts, just use it anyway and not offer any suggestions on how to fix it I'd hate to see you spend the rest of your life in pain. Consider getting a second opinion.

congratulations! You're really doing it!

I'm with your husband. Eat if you feel hungry, and make it something healthy. If you're not hungry, don't worry about one day. Starvation mode is only an issue if it's day after day after day.

I'm on the fence. My sister lives in Germany and is into "natural" and "organic" etc. and she did not give her kids any vacinnes when they were little - she let them get sick so they have natural immunity. Everything turned out OK for her, but I know there are some kids who get these diseases and die, sooooo You have to…

How about I am a river, flowing through the landscape of my life. Then the rest of the lines demonstrate the different landscapes you flow through. kudos to your English teacher for giving an interesting assignment! And kudos to you for asking for help when you want it!

I've had so much fun reading this post. my suggestion: the first line doesn't seem to match with the rest of the poem. You might troll for an opening line that sets the mood for the rest of the poem. Hope you get an A!

I feel your pain. I'm hoping for some help with the same kind of issue . . .

Keep it up, Hush7hush - you're great!! More! More!

I would assume that when you put the actual ingredients into a calorie calculator, you get every calorie measured. But when you actually eat it, much of the oil is staying in the pan and you're not really eating those calories. Try instead of counting the ingredients, measure the already popped corn and put that into a…

18 miles! Lordy! Good for you!!

Consider taking small steps to move you closer to the person you want to be. My suggestion for a first step is to drink more than 8 cups of water a day. It will help clean out your system in a healthy way, give you energy without a caffeine buzz and will help attune your body to the difference between hungry and thirsty.…

I used one at hotel gyms for 3 weeks a year ago. Did not lose - was on vacation in Hawaii - but my husband made several nice comments about how great my butt and thighs looked by the end of 3 weeks, so I recommend it. I choose it over a treadmill whenever it is available because I have arthritis and it is low impact.

without actually putting it in the database . . . I would say that < 300 calories sounds right. it's mostly veggies! Corn tortillas are better (lower calorie & carb) than wheat and the cheese is fat free. Just watch out for the servings. one eighth of this won't be a lot of food.
-
Your food diary looks good! You appear to not actually be eating quite all your exercise calories back, though. I agree with the folks saying "change up your exercise routine" but I would add: throw in a cheeseburger every once in a while. Two reasons: 1. you won't feel deprived and it will be easier to stay on course for…

LOL! So nice to hear a (mostly) clean joke that is actually funny!

I eat a small bit about a half hour after I get up, before I exercise. sometimes it's just the milk in my "milked down" coffee, sometimes half a yogurt jug or half banana. Then I exercise. I'm always hungry after that and I'm glad to still have my breakfast calories "available" for a late morning breakfast. When school…

I've been overweight my whole life (they all said I would outgrow the "baby fat" but I didn't) so my "chunk" on the belly didn't seem too noticeable, but my sister has been thin her whole life and she got the over 40 "chunk." What's up with that? Why does a roll of fat magically appear around women's middle's in their…

I take a "cheat day" for special events. I don't log food but do try to exercise. I really want this to be something I can do for the rest of my life and I just know I'm not going to eat celery when everyone else is eating cake and ice cream, so I'm trying to be realistic about it. Sometimes I go more than a week without a…

I tried it, but found that a ball short enough for my legs so feet would touch the floor was not tall enough for my desk. With an office chair I put my feet on the legs of the chair or a foot stool. But it seemed like using a foot stool with the ball kind of defeats the purpose. Also very hard to control when I wasn't…

My experience has been that when I start dieting, I lose fast: water and built up in my digestive system comes off fast. Think how healthy your insides are getting! Then things slow down when it comes to really losing FAT. Ugh. So you may not continue at that rate, but don't let it discourage you. It's worth the work!
