  • Here are my one-year transformation pictures. It all started with the picture on the very right. Looking at pictures after summer vacation trip and actually asking " how on earth did I get this big". (can tell you exactly how but I think it was gradual enough that I just didn't really notice until these pictures). Jumped…
  • @chris5602. I use free weights and resistance bands. I have dumbells from 5lbs to 35lbs. Lighter weights for the upper body and the heavier ones for the lower body. I have been doing the Sidney Cummings "Summertime Fine" challenge and she incorporates a lot of weights and pushes you to try to go heavier as you get…
  • One year, almost 45 lbs down at 52. Really started to see a difference when I started to lift heavier weights. Still working on toning up and now attempting the very challenging maintenance part. Wish me luck
  • Thank you everybody for your kind words, it definitely is great seeing the progress in pictures because in my mind I am still much bigger than I am. @gcibsthom - I am worried about maintenance. I have been hovering around the 130-133 mark for about a month now and I keep logging, right now it feels like I still have to…

  • Totally agree, I was in great shape back in 2013 and then with a new job and stress slowly but steadily gained weight. I knew I need to do something but I just "didn't feel like it" and so nothing happened other than a few half starts that immediately fell off the wayside. Fast forward to covid and an additional 10 lbs…
  • Lately I had a lot of other moms ask me what my "secret" is, and when I tell them logging food and working it out they sort of tune out (I guess they are hoping for a secret pill). I have been working very hard on getting toned and lean and people comment on how good my arms look and when I tell them it's from doing…
  • My birthday is in 2 days and I want to stay below 130 lbs for it :-). Next is my daughter's graduation at the end of the month and I have my eye on some really cute sleeveless dresses I want to wear and take pictures in.
  • I have lost almost 50 lbs and have been doing the Sidney Cummings Challenges (on my second month now), I hated doing planks with just a sports bra because I had all this loose skin hanging down from my stomach, while planking. Well, yesterday was plank time again (and it is getting warmer so no T-shirt) and I noticed that…
  • This is a great post. Just started maintenance after a 45 lb loss and can't quiet get the hang of it yet. Glad to see it can be done, I am planning on keeping logging and keep checking my weight as well, so glad to hear that that is working for you.
  • Here is my favorite "snack" right now. I make about 20 ounces of chicken broth (with the powder) bring it to a boil and then drop an egg into it and let it cook for a minute. I call it Home Made Eggdrop soup. Under 100 calories and really fills me up (because of the liquid). Probably not ideal if you are avoiding sodium.
  • I like Premier Protein Shakes, lots of flavors and they are all pretty tasty. Just tried a new one " Apple Cinnamon with Oats". It has 7 gr of Fiber and I know that is something I fall short on a lot.
  • We just went for a 3-day ski trip to Utah and not only could I fit into my small Ski pants, but my exercise regime also paid off and I did not get really sore from skiing for 3 days straight. In the past, my legs would be burning after the first day but this year I was able to ski 3 days pain-free :-)
  • Today is day 200, 40 lbs lost :)
  • We went to dinner Sunday night and I had to borrow a top out of my 17 year old daughters closet because none of the ones in my closet looked good anymore (too loose) :-)
  • OK I have a weird one. We went to a fancy wedding this past weekened, and I bought a great dress in a much smaller size (thanks to my weightloss). One of my close friends (I am sure was meaning this as a compliment) said " this dress makes you look super skinny :/" While I love the dress I kind of felt like it negated all…
  • Still a work in progress (that's why the first spot is open  )but after seeing my picture after a beach trip in July I said enough is enough. Now down 35 lbs and about 5 more to go.
  • Mine sends all the food data from FitnessPal to Fitbit but none of the Fitbit data is coming over to Fitness Pal. The only way I can get it to work is to disconnect Fitbit from Fitness Pal at the end of each day and reconnect and it will then give me the credit but only for that day. Gets very annoying so I usually don't…
  • I have been using various FitBit products for the past few years, every time I had an issue they have replaced my unit for free without much hassle. The band on my last charge fell apart but it had lasted a long time and I really wanted to move up to the Charge 2 anyway :-). Love the new Charge 2. I did move it to my non…
  • I mix mine with the single serve Tuna pouches (they come in spicy, lemon pepper, sweet and sour) and some chopped up celery and have that for dinner. Has a ton of protein that way
  • I have the FitBit Flex and love it. It works great with MFP and between the two I really feel like I am getting a good feel of my total calories in and out. Plus it keeps me motivated to move :-). And yes, of course you can always cheat, but why would you bother, that sort of defeats the purpose.
  • Love Vitatops as well with my morning coffee and I have started putting vanilla protein powder in my coffee instead of creamer so now I have a "Power Coffee" :-). I do a lot of cottage cheese, sometimes mixed with fruit or my new favorite is mixing it with one of the Tuna creation pouches and then adding chopped up onions,…
  • I have had my Flex for 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it. After adjusting my stride length it is very accurate, if anything maybe slightly under counting, which I am OK with, (rather work harder to get there). if nothing else it makes me move more, and I agree with previous poster, sometimes I forget I wear it because…
