  • The people I work with like to eat, and I mean really like to munch away. I've had to resist, Reese peanut butter cups, cake, homemade cinnamon rolls and biscuits all brought in on separate days this week. So I get it temptation was there all week and I've resisted every single one as I really want to just lose those last…
  • Yep hair loss is another.
  • Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it? Btw jealous of those calories 1850 kcal is my current maintenance if I'm sedentary but trying to lose the last few at the moment, back in deficit this year after maintaining last year.
  • Look I feel hungry at least once everyday I suck it up and get on with it until I can eat. If its the whole day then I would question whether the deficit I was using was appropriate. Honestly I think things like the military are plain rubbish and wouldn't go there, if you are set on following this for three days a week I…
  • Just bumping this, I'm seeing too many posts of low cal deficits and newbies wanting to lose weight fast.
  • It's all about the calorie deficit, in an ideal world your macros are perfect but it never happens, not to me anyways, they usually even out over the week.
  • 5lbs in 2 weeks is excellent progress, I think your expectations are unrealistic. 1-2lb a week is a perfectly acceptable rate of loss. Fuel your workouts and eat some exercise calories back or risk burning out fast. If you struggle with the fluctuations then maybe weighing only once a week may be better for you or a…
  • Cheesecake 300-400kcal for a tiny piece! Not worth it.
  • My goal is set to a bmi of 25 (73kg) I started at 107.5 kg so morbidly obese, as I am 3.6kg away from goal I'm actually thinking of lowering my goal to 70kg as I can still see there is room for improvement. I think whatever goal you start with at the beginning is bound to change, maybe once I get to 70kg it may change…
  • It's entirely up to you, you can look at it from two ways: The sense of achievement from reaching your self imposed ban on pop at the end of the 30 days (which is about the time it takes to change a habit or so they say). Or If it fits my calories then I can have some pop, I myself changed to diet pop years ago and never…
  • Skinny taste is great for low cal recipes a few from there have become real staples and are really not expensive or hard to make. Her chicken fajitas and the skinny italian meatballs are devine, some great salads there too. You can also always go back to some of your old favourites from before you started using mfp and…
  • Depends on what you want to achieve: If you are open to trying new things then slowly add them to your diet you can do this through hiding them in food you already love ( for example veg can be chopped very small or pureed into pasta sauces and soups) or starting with stuff that closely resembles thing you already like…
  • With only about 10lbs to go to my goal my bottom half is still a size larger than the top so I don't think it will ever even out. At least it has shrunk proportionally though so I'm just a thinner pear shape which is fine by me, it's just genetics I'm afraid.
  • The main thing that gets my hackles up is when someone tried to say their weightloss method is the only way, it's not, please don't tell me what to do I will most likely do the opposite. The rest mentioned on this thread just make me sad as having realised it doesn't need to be complicated, foods do not need to be…
  • Has your calorie goal changed recently? It is supposed to go down automatically with your losses but mine has always needed to be done myself, if you go into goals and update something in there it will change, it may just be that your deficit is not as big as you think it is. Also tighten up logging the less you have to…
  • My husband did this at alton towers he was minding his own business having a cigarette on a bench and some guy came and sat down with his burger and basically decided to have a go at him for having a cigarette. Hubby promptly told him that being fat and eating that junk food was bad for the guys health in equal quantities…

  • You can switch those messages off if they annoy you. I have, I don't need mfp to tell me what good choices are and what aren't.

  • There is definitely something wrong with that kit kat entry it says it contains no sugar :D I wish. Glad you found a good protein bar OP, most I have tried so far have a horrible texture even if the taste is ok/good.
  • Mine went down proportionally from a 38E to a 32E, I may end up a DD in the end. It seems to go band size, cupsize same then same band size down cup size for me. I don't mind either way they seem to balance the booty out a bit at least.
  • Give the meds time to work be prepared for needing a few increases and once on the right dose you should be able to lose the weight. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in Apr 2010 got to my heaviest at 237lb and have lost 73lbs altogether so it most definitely can be done. I'm on the home stretch now trying to get to…
  • It's probably to do with the amount of blood available in the body at a specific weight. The heavier you are the more blood vessels to supply the tissues therefore more blood. It probably means they would probably not be able to take the amount of blood they take as standard it's a pint in the UK (just over 500ml) without…
  • Yikes! Feel pretty lucky, I'm allergic to most tree pollens, fortunately not to fruit and veg. Op some great informative responses on your post hope they help you figure out what to eat.
  • Yes he did when I was heavier than him (most of our 16yr relationship) and he does now, drive him mad announcing every loss, lol!
  • I'm well aware op is not doing that I used it as an example of why having a low calorie day wouldn't be an issue. Not going to argue but plenty of people look at a weekly average for calories instead of daily in which case op is still averaging over daily calories. If it doesnt turn into a daily thing of eating such low…

  • I assumed Monday wasn't completely filled in yet hence the I'm aware this may have changed by now in brackets (I hope so anyways). In which case one day at 600kcal isn't going to do any harm as plenty of people do 5:2 dieting. Even then if Monday was a 1200 kcal day it's 200kcal ish over per day on average and really not…

  • Looking at your weekly average you are over by 46 kcal a day(I'm aware this may have changed now), why would you change to maintenance with such a tiny overage? It may impact your loss this week by a 1/4lb if that. Acknowledge and carry on as you are, maybe try and figure out why you went over by 2057kcal that day, are you…

  • With TOM 5-6lbs has been my worst, when flying to visit my parents 10lbs of water retention has been my worst. All sorts of things can make you retain water it usually comes off not long after (I know exactly when because I spend a day peeing like mad). If all goes well usually with a little extra too (if I behave myself…
  • Don't diet while in recovery, I've had major surgery on my abdomen in the past, from experience you won't give a monkeys the first 2 weeks after surgery anyways as you will feel so rough. Eat at maintenance your body will need those calories and nutrients to heal.
  • Agreed seems unlikely, mfp tells me I would maintain at 1850cal when sedentary being 5'7 and 164.5lbs.
  • Vegetables, I love crunchy raw veggies must buy some carrots this weekend for snacking.
