  • I've recently been diagnosed with prediabetes, apparently my love for carbs, chocolate and candy finally caught up 😬 Unfortunately the doctor didn't give me much information- just said to exercise, lose a bit of weight and we'd reasses in 6 months. (Can you tell my family doctor is on mat leave?) Slowly doing research and…
  • Hi and welcome to MFP. Sending you a friend request. :) (MFP is always better with friends)
  • Feel free to add me as well. I'm back after being away for a few years (life....) and it looks like most of my friend list has left as well. I would love some more active friends 🙂 My goals: weight loss and to increase general activity level. I walk nearly everyday and sometimes post photos of my food or wherever my walk…
  • Some great ideas! I also usually grab fruit from the hotel lol. If I have snacks, I'll eat those. Otherwise, I too find myself in the candy bag.....
  • Your list has no protein, OP! Add a couple of protein bars.[/quote] True true...
  • Oh wow! Fortunately it's all domestic (in Canada) so my bananas will be safe lol.
  • It's airline travel, but all domestic (in Canada). I just live really northern so I have to first fly into a major city, and then I will have 11hr in the city before my flight across the country. Fruits and veggies should be fine but I know dressings will be out as they would count as liquid.
  • @kimikats how do you do that "spoiler" banner on the forums? My list is so longggggggg
  • Currently in a heat wave so today was a "minimum movement" day :/ On the plus side, tomorrow is supposed to be a little more 'normal' (fingers crossed!). My goal for this month is a 5lb weight loss. Day 01– 06/09: 190.4 Day 02– 06/10: Unknown Day 03– 06/11: Unknown Day 04– 06/12: Unknown Day 05- 06/13: 189.8 Day 06– 06/14:…
  • So I lost my first post but I found it! (It's been a while since I used the discussion boards haha)... This week as been a slow progress. It's been so hot here that I've been staying indoors most days till late in the evening, and just not getting as much exercise as I'd like. However, I've still maintained my calorie…
  • Feel free to add me if anyone wants... (MFP or Fitbit) Basics: 33 year old teacher in Northern Alberta. A few years back I lost over 55 lbs, completely surpassing my goal weight! Then I went back to university (little weight gain, but not much). A year after graduation I got married but not even 2 weeks later I was hit by…
  • Just pulled out the laptop (usually just use app) and found this challenge today (July 23). I haven't weighted myself everyday, but been trying to weight myself more often. In the past I would shy away from those days the scale was higher but I find since weighing more frequently, I can see trends more clearly and I don't…
  • The past 8 months especially have been hard for me as I've struggled to deal with everything (and everyone). If I'm honest with myself I have probably dealt with anxiety and depression for years but I was that one everyone depended on so I just found ways to coop, but this year it's just been too much. When I'm stressed I…

  • Hi I'm 31 with an open diary (it's really not great though hahaha). I live in Northern Alberta in Canada. Add me if you would like :)
  • If anyone wants to add me as a friend on here or fitbit, send me a message :) I can always use more challenges!
  • It's July 14th but I'm in! I'm a teacher and since it's summer vacation my step count has been suffering! I usually get 10,000 at least per day but this month I have had to be much more mindful to reach my goals 07/01-8363 07/02- 10232 07/03- 8830 07/04- 3982 (ouch!!) 07/05- 3801 (oh my...) 07/06- 12760 (much better!)…
  • I'm similar to you, had success (and kept it off), but then changes in life happened and ... it's back! :( Some of my mfp pals aren't active anymore so feel free to add me!
  • I will send you an invite :) getting back into this and many of my old friends are no longer active.
  • Hi mskhall513 what are your goals? I find setting multiple short term goals helps me stay on track :)
  • Calorie goal (&requirements) depend on alot of factors such as height, weight, age, & activity level. Personally I use "Scooby's Calorie Calculator" (search on Google and put in your info) and then I put that recommended amount into MFP. I found for me MFP didn't set high enough calorie goal as my job was very active and…
  • Please add me :) I had many friends but over the years my list of active friends has declined a lot :( Like you, I find having an active newsfeed makes me more accountable :)
  • If you have the time, find a great book! :) Reading captures my interest and I don't remember the food lol. Also, there are lots of exercise videos available online that you could try at home :)

  • Nope, that's probably about right! :) This is my second go around at weight loss (first time I hit my goal of -55 lbss but I have gained some back due to lifestyle changes). When I first started I ate about 1200 for 2 months, then found the scooby site and increased to 1800 cal and saw a nice decline in weight! :) Sounds…
  • I agree with the link for Scooby, that is what I use as well. I am 5'6, currently 140 lbs, 27 yrs old (nearly 28) and my diary is set to 1700 calories. I just started an internship though which is much less physically demanding than my job was, so that is why my calories are so low (usually I would have it set to about…
  • I use the Shock Absorber run bra. It was wonderful and exactly what I needed, however one strap sometimes unhooks when I run which is super annoying if I don't have a discrete place to jump into to fix the strap. Luckily the back and neck strap still support but this was an issue when I did a 5k during the summer because I…
  • Welcome to MFP :) I am in a similar situation. I was at maintenance last year but unfortunately going back to school has caused me to gain a bit back. Hoping to be back at my goal weight by xmas :) Advice: I see that some people have offered advice. I would like to say that I hope you do NOT only eat 2 meals! I work in…
  • I once walked into a story looking for a winter coat. My friend was with me (she was smaller than me at the time). The cashier came over and asked if he could help and I said I was looking for a winter coat and he said "Oh... Hmm, we don't carry YOUR size". I was not even very big at the time, maybe 160 lbs and the coat I…
  • Yes some of the machines are not the most accurate however, you can DEFINITELY burn 300 calories in a hour of cardio! I would suggest you start eating back some of those exercise calories and remember it is fuel for your body :) Also, it's only been 2 weeks! Remember reality is a lot different from shows like the Biggest…
