  • Hi all, long time no see. After a pretty good start to the year I had a bit of a disaster. Fell off a ladder and ended up in hospital. Worst damage was to my face (I bounced off the metal ladder face-first) but I also injured my right thigh quite badly. No breaks but nasty contusions and some stitches, which all left me…
  • Hi all. Didn’t post yesterday as had some drama with the kids. Have read to catch up and sending everyone my best. Off work today- not sure how things will pan out. I took a rest day yesterday after running every day in January. Will try and get a run in today because mentally I need it. Otherwise just pushing on.…
  • Thanks @scott6255! I’m going to aim for 60 miles this month. Will be a stretch as I want to add back in more cross-training and yoga, but let’s give it a go!
  • Hi all. Busy day today but have read and tried to catch up. Hope everyone is doing ok. Sunday goals recap: Morning run (outside?) ✅ 5km Take pictures of table for selling ✅ Touch up paint on balcony and fill the new planters ✅ Spend some time sorting front garden ✅ hours! But it’s finished and looks good CleanIng ✅…

  • Wishing you better @kgirlhart. I’m so sorry you are missing the funeral as well. Thinking of you. X
  • Hi everyone. It’s a gloriously sunny day today and I went out for a run this morning, which felt great. I’m busy with lots of house chores today, but stopped for lunch and thought I’d better catch up. Have a lovely Sunday all. X Saturday goals recap: Morning run ✅ Go to garden centre ✅ Cool veggies ✅ Stay within calorie…
  • Morning all. Had a glorious run outdoors today at long last. Sunny and cold and very pretty in the park. Pic in spoiler. The hills felt easier than they have done - hoping that means my fitness is gradually improving. Garmin showed I stayed in a good heart rate zone for much of it, so all in all I’m happy. Wish I’d seen…
  • Hi all. Friday evening was hectic and I’m only just catching up now. Test has confirmed little one had covid, big one is still clear. She feels ok and they were on great form last night so I went out to meet some friends I haven’t seen in over 2 years for dinner. I managed to stay within goal and it didn’t feel too…
  • Catching up after a couple of days. All a bit hectic - my younger daughter has just been diagnosed with Covid. She’s fine, not too bad. Just lots of juggling with getting tests and sorting childcare. Have carried on with little treadmill runs - I want to see out this RED January, no matter what! Good to see you @Avidkeo,…
  • @AJB1014 - congrats on the weight loss! Sorry to read about your poor cat. Hope he’s ok. I’m hopping on briefly after a strange day. It was all going so well and then my younger daughter tested positive on a lateral flow device. So I’ve been scrabbling around this evening emailing schools and booking PCR tests. The rules…
  • Thanks @shanaber. I was so frustrated at the end of last year at lots of events that impacted my health and fitness. I decided a challenge of ‘little and often’ would be good to rebuild some fitness and some confidence so said I would run every day in January. Stubbornness has pushed me through on the sick days! Not…
  • Hi all. I’ve read and caught up but I’m just too wrecked with this cold to draft much of a post. Logging all the food and recording goals, but not much more right now. Sending hugs - hope everyone is well. X Wednesday goals recap: Morning run ✅ 1.7m Pack yoghurt and fruit ✅ Walk kids to school ☑️ halfway Marking at…
  • @shanaber - that’s so scary! Poor Hobbes! And stressful for you too. Glad he’s ok now and hope you’re not too shaken. @quilteryoyo you are so amazing for running and keeping it up through health challenges. Are you and your mum now ok? I think I missed the X-ray post but hope you’re alright! Good to see you…
  • @mytime6630 a- I really feel for you. I’m not sure if this is quite the same thing, but for me the combination of being tired by the evening, possibly too hungry because I’ve been restricting all day, plus some emotional trigger of some sort (my kids, usually!) can just destroy any resolve. It’s not that I don’t know I’m…
  • @Teresa502 that was a thoughtful act to make sure the woman was ok. Even with good intentions, many of us are so wrapped up in our lives we don’t even notice others. @Scott6255 is right, the world would be a safer place with more people like you. I got my PCR test back and am negative, so it seems this is just a nasty…
  • Hi all. My PCR came back negative, so it seems I just have a nasty cold. Dragged myself onto treadmill this morning to keep up my streak and then into work, because we have so many members of staff off with covid or isolating that we are really struggling. Didn’t want to let my colleagues down but 30 5-6 year olds are not…
  • @AJB1014 - yay that does all sound very positive, although quarantining is a pain. @Snowflake1968 - gorgeous mug. You are so talented @MrsHermit - it does sound a bit stressful, but this will pass and then you have an exciting new life ahead. Hang in there! @littleblackskirt - the mindless snacking/grazing is so hard to…
  • Bleurgh still full of cold and stuffed up. So much so that despite the lateral flow tests being ok work colleagues suggested I go and get a PCR test. Hopefully will hear back soon. In the meantime it’s treadmill trudging for me but trying to keep the streak alive! 1/1: 2.1m 2/1: 2m 3/1: 2.5m 4/1: 2m 5/1: 1m 6/1: 2m 7/1:…
  • Hey all, feeling really rough. Hoping it’s not my second dose of Covid. My teaching assistant has been in touch to say she’s tested positive so it’s possible… Have tried to rest up as much as possible. Didn’t get loads done but enough so we are organised going into the week. Keeping goals minimal for tomorrow as well. Hope…
  • Still feeling rough today. Had a text from my teaching assistant to say she’s tested positive. So far I’m clear. Just did a little treadmill session again and have rested the rest of the day. 1/1: 2.1m 2/1: 2m 3/1: 2.5m 4/1: 2m 5/1: 1m 6/1: 2m 7/1: 2.05m 8/1: 2.7m 9/1: 1.8m 10/1: 2m 11/1: 1.7m 12/1: 2.25m 13/1: 3.11m 14/1:…
  • Well despite feeling rough this morning with a sore throat and sniffles, I’ve managed to have quite a productive day. A couple of jobs not done, but I got through all the cleaning and laundry so I will have lots of time tomorrow to catch up those jobs. I guess the only downside is that I’m not really doing anything for fun…
  • Me too @SummerSkier. All clear on lateral flow so fingers crossed it’s just a cold. Sounds like you smashed it today. Quick and pacy - quacy?? Short and speedy - sheedy? Whatever, you rock! Well done for getting out for another 2 when it’s sooooo cold xx
  • Sorry for the troubles some have been through, but also very inspiring to see how well everyone is doing in picking back up. I’m in agreement with all those that say mental illness is just as valid, and in need of treatment, as physical illness, and I really do believe at some point in our lives all of us will experience…
  • @shanaber I will try and check out that podcast. I was also not at all athletic as a child, and always felt like the least fit and slim of three sisters. I never ever thought I would be able to run. It all changed for me in my late 30s when I got fit and I started running on my 40th birthday. I always wonder “what if” I’d…
  • Scrappy is brilliant! 😂 There’s basically a fun phrase book coming along here, isn’t there? I did a very short run on the treadmill this morning. I meant to do 2.1m to even myself up but felt weirdly sick so had to cut it even shorter. Tomorrow should be an outdoor run day so will kick up the mileage a bit. Still on course…
  • Evening all. Sorry to hear you are struggling @mytime6630. It sounds like it’s not been the best start to the year. Is there any way we can help? You’ve always been so good at motivating all of us. You can do this! @clicketykeys - I kind of resisted! I decided it was better to eat a bit of fruit and have a decaf coffee…
  • Wow, you must feel a sense of achievement looking at that data, @quilteryoyo. Seriously impressive for 2021 after your surgery. I was also recently looking back at previous years on my Garmin app and it made me want to get back to longer runs and more regular running. Here’s hoping I can get back there this year! Sending…
  • Hi all. Hope everyone is well. That headache sounds weird @Bex953172 - hope it eases soon. @MLHC1 and @pridesabtch - hoping work pressure calms down for you. @cschmitz110515 - that hike does sound fun! Hope the knee is back on track. @clicketykeys - ugh, I’ve felt like snacking a lot today too. Will have to keep busy…
  • Thanks @Teresa502. I am also longing for Spring, and light mornings in particular. Hope the snow isn’t too bad when it comes. @quilteryoyo - hope you and your mum are still feeling ok. Lovely sunrise @polska_girl. There was a breathtaking one on my way to school today but no time to stop. Pink and peachy stripes through…
