  • Can I ask--where in NE Wisconsin? I live in Green Bay and it is $3.28 and that is the lowest I've seen.
  • Thanks for all of your replies. Rogers- I think your hair is cute how it is right now. AJCM-My hair is thick so I think it will work and won't fall flat. Sorry I forgot your name--I did wear my hair in a ponytail alot when it was longer. Now I have my hair just a little bit longer than chin length and it doesn't go in a…
  • I am thinking about getting my haircut like Kate from Jon and Kate Plus 8. I wanted some advice as to whether or not you think it would look good on me. I have thick brown hair and was wondering if if would work with my hair/face. Any suggestion? I will put a pic of me now in my profile. Here is a link of Kate's…
  • Good morning, Full body strength training today--no run. Margie--Good luck on your run. I'm sure you won't look foolish. Have a good weekend!
  • I did a 5K and walked to warm up and cool down. Felt good to run after not running a while lot due to starting to do strength training.
  • I did full body strength training today, so no run. I think I might do strength training on M/W/F and then run on Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun. I hate not running every day, but my strength training routine is 45 min long and I don't have enought time in the morning to strength train and run. I'll see what routine I can work out…
  • Good morning! No run for me today. I did my upper body and abs strength training this morning and my arms are like Jell-o. Have a great day!
  • Good Morning, All! Today I did my lower body, back and abs strength training. Then, because I am officially addicted to running, I did a quick 2 miles on the treadmill. I have a question for those of you who strength train. Do you run on the same day as you strength train or do you alternate days? If I don't run daily…
  • Where are all of the early birds? I ran 5K with 20 minutes of walking for a warm up and cool down. Have a Terrific Tuesday!
  • No run for me today--yet. I started my new strength training routine that my husband's personal trainer at work came up with for me. I can already feel it working. My arms and legs are jello-y and a little sore. I might see if I can get in a run this afternoon or evening, but my husband is out of town for the week, so…
  • I ran 5.6 miles this evening. Felt good to run a long run.
  • Thanks runnerdad. I actually ran my race today. It just drizzled and lightly sprinkled during the race so it wasn't horrible. I was the first woman to finish with a time of 24:55. I was quite happy with myself.
  • Way to go, Jess! Glad the rain held off for you. I had my 5K this morning. I ran it in 24:55 and came in first for the women in the 20-29 age division AND I WAS THE FIRST WOMEN TO CROSS THE FINISH LINE! I was so happy. I shaved 1.5 mintues off my previous time. When my husband told me that I was the first woman to finish,…
  • Jessmomof3- Raining here too. Good luck on your race. My daughter wanted to run in a children's race, but there isn't one at this 5K. Will post results later.
  • Thanks for all of your suggestions. Ali- I just got new shoes so they have good traction. Thanks for the hat suggestion-I wouldn't have thought of that. Jess- I just checked the forecast and now we have a 80% chance of rain.:grumble: I see that you live in Il. I live in WI so it is probably the same storm that is going to…
  • I have a 5K race tomorrow and the forecast is calling for a 70% chance of rain. I have never ran in the rain before and I am wondering if there is anything special or different that I should do when running in the rain. Wear something different? Things to remember? Thanks, MFPers.
  • Even though we are on this journey for ourselves, it always gives us a boost when others notice.:flowerforyou:
  • No run for me today. Got up early and cleaned the bathroom instead. I have my 5K tomorrow so I might take a walk later to keep my muscles flexible. Where is everyone? Mirelle? Kechie?
  • I have lost 20 lbs and reached my goal weight. I weigh less now than I did before I got pregnant with my oldest!! Yay me! I just switched my settings over to maintain my current weight. I am just scared that it is going to be hard to maintain. Although I now have more calories to eat each day so maybe it won't be that…
  • doesn't it feel great? :drinker:
  • I have 5K race this Sat and it is supposed to rain here too. Although we probably won't have lightening because it will be too cool. I got up at 5 and ran a 5k.
  • No running for me-I did walk for 30 min though. I had a horrible night's sleep between the dog and my daughter who couldn't sleep because of a stuffy nose. It is also TOM and my cramps are starting:grumble: Good news though- I hit my goal weight, well actually I technically have .8 lbs to go, but I'm happy with where I am…
  • Wow alot of you already posted today. I ran for about 45 minutes this morning at a faster than usual pace using walking for my warmup and cool down. I am signed up for another 5k this Saturday. I'm going to try to beat my previous best time of 26 min and 25 sec but we'll see. I thought that time was pretty good and I don't…
  • That is actually my second choice lol:laugh:
  • I found a pic that I like. I'm just not sure if it will work with thick hair. http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/gallery/short/290.php What do you think?
  • Do you have any pics you could post?
  • I wouldn't mind blow drying it everyday and maybe curling it on some days, but I do not want to have to be in the bathroom working on my hair for 30 minutes. As far as styling products, I usually use hairspray to finish and keep any fly-a-ways in place. I wear my hair up because otherwise it gets kinda frizzy, especially…
  • Thanks!:flowerforyou:
  • I am thinking about getting my hair cut. When it is longer (shoulder length) I tend to always wear it up because my hair is thick and a little bit wavy. Do any of you have any suggestions? I would like something that is fairly easy to style and than works with thick hair. I just want a little change. Thanks guys. I tried…
  • Way to go, Mireille! I have been getting up at 4:50am for about a month now and I am so used to it. Feels good to get your run in right away in the morning! I ran for 45 min at 5.0mph--we did almost the same run, Mireille! Yesterday I didn't get on to MFP to check-in but I did run 4.2 miles including running up a couple…
