Thanks for the responses. Sounds like it's more likely to be glycogen and water, especially since I have noticed the firmness and size increases disappear after only about 10 days of eating fewer carbs and not training as much. I never realized that water weight could make that much of a difference.

I agree with the recommendation to reduce your fiber intake. Also, if you are getting a lot of fiber from vegetables, it might help to have some of them well cooked to make the fiber more digestible. What is your carb goal in grams? Those food combinations should not be adding up to a tremendous amount of carbs.

I've only floor pressed with dumbbells that were too light (30+ reps), so it's hard for me to make a fair comparison. But based on one rep max estimates I'm guessing that my numbers would be pretty close.
