  • if I know a soup is high sodium, I usually split it into two servings & then top back off with water (or no salt broth) to dilute the salt bomb.
  • Try following the recommended post-surgery diet for a month and see how that goes. Plenty of published info out there if you google it. I lost more than you have to lose in less than a year w/o a thought of surgery, and I'm also shorter than you. Just have to get your head in the game. I was barely 110# in my mid-twenties…
  • Lobster Newburg with roasted lemon/parm asparagus, paired with dry champagne.
  • Local grocer started carrying prime delmonicos...now my go-to. I dried this one w/ salt in the fridge for about a week & then reverse-seared to med-rare. Poured a good olive oil on a plate with a sprinkle of coarse ground peppercorns & coarse salt, along with minced rosemary and gorgonzola for dipping. #dipmeatnotbread…
  • I'm a BIG fan of Kind bars, check out their nutrition info to see if it's what you are looking for. I keep Kind Minis in my desk at work for a tasty lift. https://www.kindsnacks.com/protein-bars/
  • Reheated chicken & pork both taste gross to me. I don't mind eating the meat as cold leftovers though.
  • Souvlaki! ...I usually half the recipe & use 3 garlic cloves or less 10 garlic cloves, peeled 2 tbsp dried oregano 1 tsp dried rosemary 1 tsp sweet paprika 1 tsp each Kosher salt and black pepper 1/4 cup olive oil 1/4 cup dry white wine Juice of 1 lemon 2 bay leaves For Chicken 2 1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken breast,…
  • Greek marinated grilled lamb rack (w/ tzatziki to dip lamb pops) and a side of Greek salad
  • a splash of vanilla extract along with the cinnamon in that, is awesome as well ;) (chopped walnuts too!)
  • If you are eating at a deficit, your muscles are not growing, but you can very well be retaining water from heavy exercise. Consider where you are in your hormonal cycle, I retain water for a solid two weeks of PMS and often cannot lose during that time. The immediate two weeks following, I can drop like mad. As far as…
  • A workaround I found to change it through the app, you need to log out from the app. When you go to log back in, click on forgot password (don't enter your password & log in), you will then get an email to reset/change the password. That is definitely something they need to work on for the app.
  • this is the basic recipe (mine has vanilla extract and lots of cinnamon with a pinch of splenda). This is commonly made either sweet or savory. My egg cheese. This is great to snack on w/ cold sliced kielbasa...I make it throughout the year because it "fits" the plan. haha, also my egg cheese hack...my grandmother had…
  • How are you measuring the amounts of food you are logging? Labels? Weighing? Measuring cups? Are you logging beverages as well? Not nitpicking, but it does make a difference with accuracy ;)
  • Ham, kielbasa, deviled eggs, beets/horseradish, Slovak egg cheese...probably green beans (those are my choices from the dinner table, they will have mashed 'tatoes, Easter bread, yams, etc)
  • Wow, no. This isn't how it works. Unless you are building major muscle (which you won't if you are losing weight) your metabolism is what it is, there is no "boosting" and by not eating for 16 hours, it will not "slow" either. Yes, you may be losing weight on your version of keto, but no, the above isn't why. I suggest…
  • You're overeating if you are gaining. Calories still have to be counted regardless of how low your carbs are. Measure your food, log everything. Fasting is only an eating schedule. Your body doesn't care if you eat your daily calorie requirements in one hour, or spread out over 10 hours a day. It can be a helpful tool to…
  • We sometimes top ours w/ sour cream and shredded cheddar...but don’t mix it in like a stroganoff.
  • Keto Egg Roll - Egg Roll in a Bowl - Crack Slaw - Whatevs Topped with half of a Tumaro’s low carb wrap, cut into strips and quickly fried. That’s about 1/3 of a half wrap...4g carb per half. Nice “egg roll” crunch.
  • Walk everywhere...! Enjoy it! We deliberately sought out restaurants, as we are anti-buffet. Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris hotel has the most delicious breakfast! If you end up at Fremont St, downtown, Tony Geminiani's Pizza Rock has the BEST wood-fired margherita pizza I've ever had in my life...as well as the rest of his…
  • I guess I'm more curious as to what you are doing with the information. Assuming you are trying to lose weight, which is what most people on this diet are doing, you can still easily over eat the calories your body uses but still have strong readings of being in ketosis (because your carbs are low). If you go over your…
  • What is your purpose for using it? Measuring what?
  • Second, third, fourth, fifth helping??? Where are you having lunch? A buffet? Any other options “out”?
  • Wrong. A person needs to eat w/ in their calorie needs for the rest of their lives, regardless of macro split. Anyone can easily transition from one way of eating to another, as long as they are conscious of the amt of calories they are stuffing into their face-hole. The misinformation w/ the latest influx of noobs is…
  • what is this magical supplement you speak of?
  • Needs more meat, otherwise sounds like a basic spaghetti sauce.
  • Lemon Pepper seasoning...
  • I use Penzeys Spanish style smoked paprika in mine, such a great flavor in it! I love making it in the summer w/ fresh garden tomatoes as well.
