  • 51 until January. Been away for a couple of years, but fully back to it. Quick question - didn't the food tracker calculate percentages of fat/carbs/protein and that you could set up a custom diet plan, say for Keto? I don't see that anymore. Did they get rid of that?
  • That kind of thing doesn't just happen at the gym. My husband, who has never set foot in a gym or worked out a day in his life constantly gives me advice on how to work out - bench presses, lifts, how to run (he's never run more than the distance from the car to the entrance of the shopping center in the rain). I find it…
  • Haagen Dazs has a similar product, called Black Cherry Amaretto Gelato. That used to be my poison.
  • Did a TM a couple of years ago. I spent countless hours training on my bowflex and running trails. I was not as prepared as I thought I was. The running was not an issue as I had trained regularly running 20k trails with steep ascents and descents. However, it was the unexpected that got me. I did mine in Whistler, BC in…
  • Vibram VFFs. They will do it all - training, running, hiking, biking, etc...Last year's models will be on clearance and far less expensive than this year's. I don't own anything else - Jayas, KMD Sport, KMD LS, and Treksport. I also have a pair of Adidas Adipure for winter running. Same idea as the VFFs only a thicker sole…
  • Nutella is one of the worst things you can eat. A 400g jar contains 218g of sugar, or 55%. That's equivalent to 78 sugar cubes.
  • Used to get the breakfast sausage, cheese & egg muffin with added bacon and a medium coffee with 2 creams and 2 Splendas. Then I'd toss the english muffin - made for messy eating. Never ordered the hash brown. I don't do it anymore as I've switched to all organic foods.
  • There's so much misinformation on the Internet. Bananas are fine. They are high in potassium making them great for a post-run snack. Why would there be bananas at the finish line of most races if they were bad for you? My favourite post-run meal is a banana-cinnamon omelette: put some coconut oil in a pan, add one sliced…
  • I have nasty in-laws who do that all the time. Funny thing is they are the ones with the muffin-tops. I don't think it was meant to be a joke and you need to sit down with your mother and let her know that it's not ok to say such things. Communication is everything. Don't be afraid to be honest and up-front with her.
  • Quinoa, Millett, Buckwheat, any of those raw bliss balls - YUCK. I love kale though, but we prepare it differently. I don't understand the kale fad and why people on this continent insist on eating it raw or as chips - that's not how it's supposed to be eaten as it's very difficult to digest and it does taste bitter. I…
  • Don't care for tap water either, but that's because it tastes awful where we live. I grew up on a farm where we had well water. That was awesome water. But our city water tastes like crap - almost like lake water. Yuck. I add fresh lemon or lime juice to my water to make it drinkable.
  • Considering tread-milling it, too. However, I get motion sick on tread mill so will need to find a way to not fall off and vomit... I much prefer outside runs but same weather woes here on the West Coast... heavy rain, snow, sleet, wind, icy temperatures. Did a 15k training run with sprints 2 days ago in the…
