  • And never underestimate the fact that age is a number. The rest is up to the person. If you want to go mental age differences, Im sure most of the MFP has your 11 year gap beat!! lol
  • Weight loss is math. Fitness is exercise. You cant out-run your fork.
  • Would you want to be rejected for being 11 years older? Or is that what actually happened? Not sure why the depression over liking him. If you like each other then who cares?
  • For those of us who have high(er) sodium intakes: As @Aaron_K123 said its a balance of sodium/water... I am a person who easily retains water thanks to her sodium. Obviously, just being a human being who is unique from everyone else is the biggest variable...but how much water to sodium balance should there be? As in, are…
  • here's my wagon. Let me know if anyone needs a ride!
  • Methinks this is human nature. Weve heard since forever that we are our worst critic. I am the same way. I see only the things I dont like. Im coming out of severe depression <some days not> from a loss 10m ago, my mother. I coped by eating myself 26lbs heavier in those 10 months- and I already needed to lose 15 at the…
  • We havent been disappointed with a single meal. But we are both on calorie restrictions so Ive paused it- but will be back! My dinners need to be light- hubby can eat whatever(brat) so its not the best choice for right now. It was nice to eat out of the box <pun intended> without having to think or shop out of the box-so…
  • My Fitbit was inaccurate so i dont wear it. Therefore like others have said. if I do any exercise I find a decent one to log in MFP and log it. However I only record 1/2 the time I did it (Equals me only eating half of the calories vs logging the full work out and having to remember to eat only half)
  • Its difficult for me to do much without coffee. And I cant eat immediately upon waking. So coffee then a short, fasted work out if I do it in the mornings. If I had lots of time to work out and didnt have time restrictions Id probably try to down a protein shake or something. I have used my coffee with protein powder too…
  • Personally, for your exercise regimen Id up the protein. If you are losing on 1600 <net? Eat back some exercise cals>but hungry the answer is to adjust your macros for things that satiate you longer. For me is protein then carbs then fat. :)
  • Hereditary cholesterol wont be reduced by changing dietary factors-not enough to make a difference for most unless your diet is full of cholesterol. Read up on that. My diet is low in red meat and dairy and my LDL was 199. Thanks, Dad. I need to drop lbs and become regularly active- but even then (Trying!) statins are in…
  • Never, ever? Seems silly. On posts we are allowed a discussion with others not exclusive to the OP, to inquire to OP for more details all to better answer the initial question. Members can only address the information you've given them- regardless if you've supplied context for that information or enough details. Exercise…
  • Not sure either. I was thankful for the read. It makes sense.
  • How I wish people would not only read this- but accept what it means. They dont. IRL its way worse to hear/discuss/digress...I have that one friend.
  • Id prefer my body to not cannibalize itself. Oy. If it does, it cannibalizes muscle from a lack of macros. Golly gee people actually read this stuff and think "hey that sounds about right! - "my body will just eat up its own excess skin!" ?
  • I go by "you cant out run a bad diet" - so for me diet is the constant and exercise is the variable. Make your peace with one or the other- or both. For me its easier to eat less regularly than it is to exercise regularly- and will be different from the next person. Personal preference is simply that. Personal.
  • I kept a spreadsheet of data from Fitbit/MFP and rate of loss. *daily weigh ins FWIW* The spreadsheet tracking over 4 weeks calculated my weight loss was in line with a TDEE of 1700... my Fitbit was giving me a daily of 2200! At Fitbit's rate, my weight loss would have been much quicker. Highly over estimated my cals out…
  • How so? *Edit- as compared to regular sugar/simple carbs, etc.
  • I like this idea. I have a salad container with a topper piece to keep any fixins (sliced tomatoes, protein, cheese, etc) separate from the greens and then a 2 tbsp sealed container for the dressing that fits in the center. Dump, pour, shake, eat. Even has a collapsible reusable fork/knife. Also lunch doesn't have to be a…
  • Im about to start weighing daily again as I love the data. Mondays are my WEEKLY record days-regardless.period.the end. The rest are fluctuations and for me to see how what I eat affects the trends. From weighing daily previously I learned that when I ovulate I gain 1-2lbs for 2 days. Monthlies bring me up 2-3lbs for 3 or…
  • I dunno about you but my watermelon was exiled from its family and chopped into little pieces. Stuck into a tiny plastic prison in the refrigerated section. Get this...It was such a bad watermelon they had him set up right in front of his whole watermelon family!!! The torture! Can you believe that?! He must have done…
  • You are the one eating per the woo science of resetting your cells. Which isnt even a thing. Actual science or biology rather, is simple. People make things too complex. Most of us digress because you cant convince people backed by Dr Oz and random fitness blogs that their sources need checking.
  • Awh- I just wanted to say Im so so sorry. I lost my mom - my best friend- last April. I find myself now 20-30lbs heavier. This is my first week back actually logging and exercising in a LONG time. Turning to food when sad has made my depression even more depressing. Thats a vicious cycle. Getting to where nothing in my…
  • Daily mood? Sure. Deficiencies in some vitamins? Yes. Mental illness from diet? No. *course there are varying degrees of what people consider "mentally ill".
  • ...more than anything? Methinks this is incorrect. Edit: I ate 3000 calories yesterday- but its probably my hormones more than anything that caused 1600 of them to be stored as fat.
  • Now we're talkin'! Science recommends being drunk in the morning! You heard it here folks! **Where's my spicy V8?**
  • Just another reason to have a mimosa for breakfast. Done and done.
  • For me its easier to have none. And when I say easier- I dont mean easy. I love my wine... but 1 5oz glass just pisses me off...and Id rather eat food...Or by the time its Happy Hour Ive already eaten my calories. :( If you can fit it in, have a drink. If you know 120cals of wine will turn into 360- then plan for that and…
  • I didnt think you were supposed to do HIIT every day- but a few times per week. If doing it properly your body needs lighter exercise/rest days between.
