Not really? Of the last 8 years- I spent around 4 years overweight, 6ish months in the weight loss phase and then 3.5ish years transitioning/in maintenance. My weight gain started after my youngest was born (I had 3 pregnancies close together/kids are now 8, 9 and 11). So while I may have been a bit more active when they…

My husband is younger than me and he likes to point out that I'm almost 40 (I'll be 38 this year). I just remind him that statistically speaking I'm still going to outlive him :D
-
My youngest is 8 now, so I'm not chasing little ones around anymore :) If anything I spend a lot more time sitting in bleachers watching them play sports lol.
-
I have some before/after pictures in my profile, and I'm very happy with how I look and feel now, especially considering where I've been and that I'm also creeping up in age and this body has carried 3 pregnancies :)

What matters for weight loss is that you've hit the correct calorie deficit for you weight loss goals at the end of the day.

The third one was in a different language and I didn't even get that far :p

The calorie difference between the three TDEE calculators I use are 8 or less calories. http://mytdee.com/ http://www.sailrabbit.com/bmr/ http://www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators/tdee-calculator.html

I was able to do this until I was about 2 1/2 years into maintenance. The further away from the weight loss phase I got though, the easier it was to let things slip in. My portion sizes got really sloppy and I started justifying more and more calories. That led to weight creep and now I know that for me, I need to track my…

I'm already at the lower end of the healthy bmi range (around 21), and when I was transitioning into maintenance I got my bmi down to 18.9. That wasn't a good look on me so I purposely regained a few pounds. But, if you're in the higher end of a healthy bmi yet, then sure there's nothing wrong with losing a few more pounds…

Yes, people keep telling my I'm a lucky freak of nature special snowflake :p TDEE calculators don't ask you your weight loss and exercise history. Many of us here have found these calculators to be very accurate, regardless of our dieting/exercise history. If not exercising during my weight loss phase had somehow lowered…

Just from what you're describing it sounds like you may be slipping into ED territory-do you have insurance that you could get a referral from your doctor to meet with a specialist? A registered dietician may be able to help you navigate through this and get you on the right path :)

This.

There's no significant difference between the two. I eat white rice 4-5 days a week, and brown rice 1-2 times a month.

I've done IF in various forms since 2012 but I don't feel that it's done anything for me health wise, except help me with my weight goals. What do you think it's done for you? (genuinely curious).
-
May I ask how long you've been in maintenance? 3 years into maintenance here, and I didn't exercise at all during my weight loss phase. My TDEE is spot on and has been since I started this whole thing back in 2012.
-
Nope.

Green smoothie, ibuprofen and a salt rinse sigh.... (had dental work done earlier today and my head is killing me!).
-
I've done IF in one form or another since 2012. Meal timing is irrelevant in terms of weight loss. How many calories you consume is the important thing.
-
Have you had issues with EDs in the past?

I'm a mom of 3 kids. I didn't use that as an excuse. My husband has no interest in losing weight. I didn't use that as an excuse. I'm a stay at home mom and I'm around food all the time. I didn't use that as an excuse. I come from a large family tree of overweight and obese people. I didn't use that as an excuse. I was…

It really messes with your mind doesn't it :p I've come to the point where I eat whatever the heck I want, keep a lot of variety in my diet, pay attention to portion sizes, stay within my calorie goals and then call it good lol.

I had tried it a while back and didn't care for it, but they've really updated it since then! I stopped using MFP's system a few weeks ago and started doing a paper food log. But that method wasn't clicking with me. Re-set up an account at Cronometer and I'm really enjoying it. I've never paid attention to macros and such,…
-
I had it happen once on my old account (beachbody ugh). I deleted her pretty quick and think she ended up getting kicked off the site.
-
Yep, I've started using Cronometer to track my food/calorie intake and love it. I'm just here for the forums :) I've been a part of a lot of different weight loss/nutrition/fitness sites and hands down MFP has the most active forum area, with the most active participants. I've found that staying active here has helped me…

I actually don't log my food intake on MFP anymore. Lots of people like their system but it frustrated me. I'm just here for the entertaining forums :D

I'll never forget the time I had someone approach me about It Works. We had become acquaintances through a parenting forum and decided to meet up. Ahead of time she did her sales spiel and offered to bring me a free sample. It just so happened that this was a few months after I had started transitioning into maintenance…

I pre-log in the morning, before I start the day. And if I have time I'll pre-log the next day as well (I already have tomorrow planned out). Then I go into the day with a plan of action. If something changes/comes up, it only takes a few seconds to edit/adjust my food diary.
