  • I don’t tent to use the meal feature much, because although I have the same and similar foods often, sometimes I do change quantities or leave or swap item’s depending on what I have in. For example with my yoghurt I usually have some fruit, granola and raisins but sometimes i might leave out the raisins or have add in…
  • Thanks all. I absolutely agree about not paying too much attention to the body fat readings. Having said that, I should have said I don’t feel stronger yet, and think I have slightly more belly fat. My waist measurement is about the same but around my lower belly is about 1 cm up. (More when bloated) In my strength…
  • Thanks for all the replies here. Had a look at power meters just out of interest and yeah, way more expensive than the bike anyway. One day I’ll get a better exercise bike with all the tech stuff. But for now this is all I’ve got. Also I won’t be so bothered about seeing the level change and go by how I feel.
  • @sijomial Unfortunately not. It is the most basic bike. I’ve been doing follow along videos, (they are connected to watch) each time it’s a different ride. Fairly high intensity with recoveries in between the tough parts. As they are different rides I’m not sure how to tell for sure if I’m cycling faster for the same…
  • @ninerbuff @FitAgainBy55 I do record walks as a workout and afterwards it updates the estimated level with the date. It’s given me a Vo2 level of 33.9, below average. I wouldn’t matter if it’s not changing but I felt l like I’m improving a lot. But I don’t feel that I am massively. (Not a noticeable feeling that it was…
  • @FitAgainBy55 Measured by Apple Watch. I can do more than when I started but I’m unsure how much I’ve improved by. I guess I’d like to see that it is improving. @kshama2001 I have previously mentioned my heart rate at GP before when it was around 60, I thought it to be low considering I did no exercise, they didn’t seem…
  • @DancingMoosie Thanks for the alternative exercise suggestions, very helpful. Macros are P 87g C 218 F 58g Calorie goal is 1740. You say about if I’m over one I’ll be under another, I’d never thought about it and unsure why it works out that way but I’ve not gone over protein today and see that fats and carbs are met. I’ll…
  • Yes that but also lockdown. Trying to keep active indoors and not sure if doing 30 mins of that plan will keep me active and busy enough on those three days. But since you say cardio could be done same day I could add my exercise bike on after or a walk maybe. When you say separate do you mean different parts of the day or…
  • Thanks for the reply. Here are the questions I have, sorry there’s a lot. I may be over thinking it but would like to get the most out of it if I start it next week. Is it important to hit protein goal each day? I currently get about 100g protein through food a day. Is this sufficient or would a protein powder be…
  • @ninerbuff I already have some dumbbells on the way, thanks for the idea though I’ll keep it in mind. @richardgavel Thank you for the reply. I realise I must be consuming at maintenance because I’ve not really gained or dropped. As I find I’m not sticking to my goal I think I’ll try increasing it somewhere in between what…
  • Hi, I wrote a post about how I can’t drop the last 2kg and before I posted it I found this post. I used the TDEE-20% calculator thats linked and it tells me I should be eating more. I was wondering what anyone thinks and if they can give advice please? For reference I’m 5”7 (171cm) female 67kg (147lb) wanting to drop 2kg…
  • Thanks again for the reply. I took a break from my bike for a few days. Back on it last few days and you’re right I do have a slight bend in each leg when standing. I think the bike can fit me. (Not quite as you describe but again it’s really basic, maybe it’s just not so much for standing rides.) I increased the seat to…
  • Hi sijomial Thank you for the reply and the link. It has given me ideas on how it should be. I have a very standard fold out bike with not a lot of fine tuning available. There are 6 adjustment options on the seat to adjust height and it’s set pretty high. The seat is not at hip level it’s mid way down my the top of my leg…
  • Thank you for taking the time to reply, asthmatichippo that’s a good point about the seat. I’ve had a look at the seating on my bike. Its at the height where there is a bend in my knees and my feet can fully touch the ground. I’ve just had a go at putting it up a notch and only the balls of my feet can reach the floor and…
  • Hi. I like lots of snacks during the day too. These are some I enjoy: Babybel 62cal for the normal and 42cal for the lighter version and both have about 4 or 5g protein per a cheese which helps to keep me full. Philadelphia on a small piece of toast with cucumber, red onions, tomato, pepper. Sometimes I add a slice of ham.…
  • Perfect thank you, that’s bugged me for ages. I can find all foods in all sections now
  • Yeah he's been gaining weight. Probably about 3 stone over 5 years. I'm not sure how that works out in lbs a week. He also drinks a lot of alcohol that probably adds a lot of calories. These are great ideas, thank you both for your replies. I'll let him know both ideas, then I guess it'll be up to him to if he can be…
  • Ah thank you everyone, I will be having a look at these suggestions for sure!
  • Oh right ok, I will have a look at their website. Thank you for your reply
