  • Thanks all. I have disconnected and reconnected. I have shut down everything and reopened it. Nothing seems to work. I don't carry my phone with me all the time so I would prefer to have my fitbit connect. Maybe I'll just send my workouts to the Apple Health and connect through that.
  • Still not linking.
  • I found that I needed some exterior products to help me stay motivated. MFP and the Fitbit work for me. They force me to be honest with myself in terms of what I am eating and how much I am moving. When I don't use them I tend to stumble. When I do use them, it is easier for me to stay on track. If you think Weight…
  • I have one child, born a little over a year ago. I gained 10 pounds in two months. I remember *****ing to my Doctor about it and she asked me what I was doing. I said I was watching what I ate but had not been good about exercising. She looked at me and told me to get off my *kitten* and go to the gym. I love my Doctor.…
  • The green Pu Erh is pretty awesome. Very different taste then the black Pu Erh.
  • Why are you trying to drink more green tea? Oolong and Green Tea come from the same plant, the difference is in how they are processed. They have most of the same health benefits. Also, there are Oolongs that are more on the green side. Look for ones that say to sttep in water at 195, you will find them more Green like.
  • White, green, and black teas all come from the same plant so will carry most of the same health benefits. Red comes from the Rooibos plant, it is technically not a tea, and has more antioxadents and no caffeine so could be thought of as better for you.
  • How much were you drinking and what kind? I drink about 64 ounces of tea a day (black, green, Oolong, or Pu Erh) and had no problem giving it up when I found out I was pregnant. Granted, I am ADHD so stimulants effect me differently then most folks. I didn't like giving it up. I love my tea, but I had no physical response…
  • Teas come from the same plant so they have the same health benefits. The amount of processing can effect the nutrients and antioxidant level but not by that much. So white teas should have more antioxadents then green and green more then black but that is about it. I don't drink tea for the nutrients, there really are not…
  • Five years. I went from 205 to 180 for my wedding, maintained that for 2 years, started to lose again but got pregnant. I lost the last 20 pounds (plus baby weight) in the last 14 months. I suppose I could say 14 months because I started back at 205 after giving birth but the reality is that the journey started when I got…
  • I just used the numbers provided by MFP. I ate back my exercise calories and dropped 20 pounds. It worked for me. Most days I was eating 1700-1900 calories with exercise.
  • Yup, black, green, and white teas are all from the same plant. The differences are based on how they are processed. White teas are mininally processed, green teas are in between, and black teas are more processed. Japanese and Chinese greens are also a bit different. Japanese Green's are steamed and Chinese Greens are pan…
  • Pu Erh is my favorite as well but it is not a black tea. It has a totally different production process. There are black/cooked pu erhs and green/uncooked pu erhs. Pu Erhs are different because the fermentation process in the tea is slowed not stopped. So people buy pu erhs like they do wines knowing that the flavor is…
  • I drink them all and love them all. Rooibos (Red) has no caffeine and the most anti-oxidants. Technically, it would be the healthiest. All the others are really very yummy and it depends on your personal taste. Personally, I drink loose leaf teas. The prep time is not that bad (put loose leaf tea in infuser basket, place…
  • Wearing a fitbit helped motivate me to use part of my lunch break to take a walk and get in 3,000 steps. It has helped me get in the habit of walking to the grocery store or take my son to a park a few blocks further from the house or to use the bathroom downstairs. I knew I could do all those things before, and sometimes…
  • Look up stretches for the achilles, you will feel achilles tightness through the calf. At least, when I went to the Dr four years ago with pain in the calf it turned out to be an achilles issue. Stretch the achilles and the calf. The exercises are pretty simple.
  • I don't drink shakes but I did use my pregnancy as a great reason to try and eat healthy. I am glad that you are going to talk to your Doctor. I was 25 pounds over my "ideal" body weight. My Doctor was very clear that she did not think this was the time for me to be losing weight but that I should focus on limiting the…
  • The Fitbit is a tool. It counts steps (and stairs for the One). It syncs with apps on mobile devices and makes it easier for you to keep track of how much you are moving a day. You can set it up so that it shares information with MFP pretty easily. I use the One. I love it. I don't take it as the end all and be all but it…
  • I have salt cravings. I have found that I can satisfy them with Salt and Pepper Pistachios. I get good nutrients and fewer calories then the side of fries or bag of potato chips.
  • At least 3 servings a day. I switch between mango, banana, apple, strawberries, blueberries, pluot (plum/apricot mix), nectarine, honeydew, and cantelop. I also aim for 3-5 servings of veg a day. I love fruit
  • I love the Kind Bars and Larabars.
