  • The article states that something wasn't right and will take a week to fix. Sync will be slow, as there is a backlog. Unlinking and relinking will only back things up more. It's very frustrating.
  • At least I know I'm not alone...
  • I think it was a protein cheesecake. I don't have the link, but searching that term might help.
  • I fell off the wagon in the beginning of June :( I decided to listen to my body and take a week off. I was exhausted and struggling to complete the workouts and started to feel strain on my quads. I then got a sinus infection that had me stuffed up for 2 weeks. I have since been focusing on my classes, summer job, and my…
  • Thank you for the tips on the front squat. I think I'm holding the bar wrong. It isn't touching my neck, so I'm probably trying to support too much with my wrists.
  • Hello all! I am having trouble with the Front Squat to Push Press this time around. In Stage 2 I started with a 20 lb barbell (the Olympic bar is too heavy by itself). I was able to progress to a 30 lb barbell. I did 4 A2 today, and could not go to 40 lbs and the 30 lbs hurt my wrists. I couldn't even finish a second set…
  • Finished the last workout B in Stage 3, so I'm officially done with that stage! I agree, I didn't care much for the YTWL - I only progressed from 3 lbs to 5 lbs, and even then it was still really really difficult. Stage 4 is a repeat of stage 2, so that will be nice not having to learn new moves. Just not looking forward…
  • So apparently I've had my head in the sand the last several month. They have 3 bench press racks with flat benches, 2 with an incline bench, and 1 with a 90 degree bench LOL. So I just took the dumbbells to one of the incline racks. Someone had taken the bar off for something else anyway, so it worked out! I finished the…
  • They have a couple of flat benches with the bench press bars, but in the free weight area, they have 3 adjustable benches and 1 bench at a permanent 90 degree angle. Sometimes one of the adjustable benches gets moved over to the Smith machine. Thanks for the tip about the flat bench!!
  • Thank you! I sure hope they get more benches, too! I will look into those exercises. I really appreciate the help!
  • Hello! Me again! I am plugging along with Stage 3. My gym doesn't have a lot of adjustable benches, and the lines can get longer than Disney it seems. The only workout I need the dang bench for is the incline dumbbell presses. Today I was in a rush, as I have somewhere to be this evening. So I subbed the chest press…
  • I've been following NRoL4W, but I'm currently lifting while cutting. Getting married in July! Feel free to add me though
  • No, I've only done deadlifts and deadlifts from boxes. None of the Romanian variations. Thank you for the suggestion!
  • So I started Stage 3 today. Dumbbell snatches - Weren't as bad as I was expecting, though I did hit myself in the head with the dumbbell once ROFL. Felt GREAT (jk). For the 1 Leg Romanian Deadlift, my arches HURT. I have high arches and do wear supports. I'm wondering if I need to wear harder shoes for those. Or is there…
  • Thanks Dawn! I don't have any dumbbells at my house, so I was practicing without them. I think I did alright. Maybe I'll find a secluded corner of the gym tomorrow, haha. Nice job on the DL's!
  • Hey everyone! Been MIA with life, but still lifting! I finished Stage 2 last week. I had started, got halfway through, then pulled something in my quad. I ended up taking a week off to make sure it fully healed, then re-started stage 2, and dropping the weight on any leg exercises. Since I started, I've only lost 3.8 lbs…
  • Yes, after troubleshooting failed, they offered to replace it free of charge. New one should be here today!
  • Fitbit measures your TDEE, so all the calories you burn just being alive plus your movement.
  • Fitbit said to restart the device. I did, but it's still registering heart rate levels in the 130s and 140s in my sleep or during activities where my heart rate wouldn't be over 90, 100 tops. I'm going to call during my lunch.
  • I highly recommend seeing if there is an Aldi's in your area. I can easily spend less than $30 on just myself in one week. I do shop sales, compare prices, and clip coupons as well. However, I have found that Aldi's prices still beat BOGO free sales at another grocery chain.
  • I just finished Stage 1!! Start (1-23-17) - Finish (3-4-17) Workout A Squats: BW to 40lbs plus bar (Smith Machine) Push Ups: 60 degrees to regular! Seated Rows: 20 lbs to 75lbs Step-Ups: Short Step with 10lb dumbbells to Higher Step with 20lb barbell Prone Jackknives: Couldn't complete 8 to 15 Workout B Deadlift: 20lb…
  • I have one more week of Stage 1 left! Thank goodness, it's getting boring!! Haha! Anyway, I wanted to ask, did anyone go straight into Stage 2? I know the book says to take a week off, but my wedding is in early July, so I don't have time to waste. I also know taking a week off will get me out of my routine and it'll be…
  • Sorry, just now seeing this. The front squats in phase 2 are what really scare me, too! I tried some with a personal trainer in a free session. Those will be fun -_- haha! I'm probably going to have to change the box deadlifts in phase 2 and just keep regular deadlifts, as I'm still trying to get correct form on those. I…
  • Would you suggest Strong over New Rules for a relative beginner? I'm halfway through stage 1 and still cannot deadlift right. I'm so frustrated with them. I even used my complimentary PT session at my new gym to learn it and the trainer seemed irritated at the end that I still couldn't do it. Looking ahead I'm nervous…
  • The program is laid out in a book by Lou Schuler. I got my copy on half.com, but you can get it a lot of places. So far, I am! I looked ahead to stage 2 and am really nervous about front squats to push presses, but I'm sure it'll be all good!
  • I didn't realize this group was still active! I'm doing my 4th workout B, stage 1, tomorrow! Excited to be halfway done. Just switched gyms from Planet Fitness to an LA Fitness. Excited to have real barbells!
  • I will have to check out the daily thread! Anyone on the program feel free to add me
  • I ordered the book off half.com but you can order it on Amazon or other online book stores. Half.com was just cheaper
  • I try to aim for that split. I'm following New Rules for Women, and that's what the book recommended. I've only been on the program 2 weeks though, so I can't say much for results yet :)
  • Aldi. I also check out sales ads for Publix and shop BOGO (but there are times it is STILL cheaper at Aldi to two than it is to get a BOGO). I stock up when there is a good sale on things that can be frozen or have a long shelf life.
