  • If you're used to a higher intensity workout, Body by Trimester has been my favorite so far. She takes after more of a Jillian Michaels approach (short circuits repeated twice, workouts are about 25 min long.) The other one I like is a bit longer, and really heavy on squats- Pregnancy Sculpt by Andrea Orbeck. Even my…
  • You look amazing, and so, so happy :) Congratulations on an amazing year of hard work and growth (er, shrinkage!)
  • I'm having the same problem too- falling asleep quickly and early, but awake by 1 or 2am and unable to go back to sleep. I'll try a snack tonight and see if that helps (though the nausea is already causing problems, even though it seems way too early for that at 5.5 weeks!)
  • I haven't made it up to workout 11, but would it be possible to modify by putting the weight on your forearms while still holding plank? I know she likes to add in crazy leg moves with her planks, so that might not be doable in that workout, but I have done it in the past with some of her other workouts with success.
  • Questions are never annoying :) I feel you on the eggs and cheese bit. I strive to eat mostly plant-based, but have been vegetarian for 16+ years. I still eat eggs/cheese a couple times a week, but have found switching to cooking mostly vegan food easier than I thought it'd be. Two killer vegan cheese recipes that I adore,…
  • You look terrific- congratulations! :)
  • I am so, so sorry for your loss. Miscarriages are a rough time, and it can be extra hard to not turn to food in times of grief and stress. From a few of your sentences above, it sounds like you know that you are eating too much. Just remember, you can eat back a 3 mile walk with a single spoonful of peanut butter, so…
  • I'll fourth(?) this. I have been "eating clean" (mostly organic, made at home, quality ingredients) and have been a vegetarian for years, and I still got fat. It doesn't matter what you eat as far as weight goes, it's how much you eat. As for how you choose to nourish your body, that's another conversation that people…
  • I transitioned to a "mostly vegan" diet in July 2013 (have been a lacto-ovo veggie since 2000) when I had a cancer scare. I cook vegan meals at home, and I am another CHEESE FIEND. My husband and I recently figured out that we each used to average a pound of cheese each week. That's almost 2,000 calories a week from cheese…
  • Hi, and welcome! I consider myself to be a lacto-ovo vegetarian, but I eat around 95% vegan. I do dairy and eggs once or twice a week. Feel free to add me (anyone else on this thread too) I love sharing recipes :)
  • Everyone has already provided great strategies- one other one I found helpful in the beginning was to pre-portion any food I had in the house that could be potentially triggering for me. I made vegan ice cream as my treat, but would portion it into 200ish calorie containers. So even if I "over ate" and had a second one, I…
  • Healthy fats- nuts, nut butters, avocados, olive oil, etc. are great for you and will help keep you full. Just make sure you always measure your portions, as they do pack a high caloric punch. Work them into your daily calories and you'll be all set! :)

  • You are looking so, so great :) You should be damned proud!!
  • You look flipping fantastic! Thank you for sharing your story :) You should be incredibly proud!
  • Bump so I can look these up later. I love Supersize vs. Superskinny but I've watched all the episodes :grumble:
  • This was such a great thread- you all ROCK! :) [/url]
  • I don't know if you like Lebanese food at all, but I about died when I saw you could make Kibbeh with potatoes and chickpeas! I don't get nearly as fussy as she tells you to be (I skip the whole halving/skinning them step and just throw them in whole.) I also use way less flour and oil, but it's amazing to find something…
  • My good friends had a vegetarian buffet this summer- I remember seeing tons of Middle Eastern foods- falafel, tabouli, hummus, etc. It was structured so you could pick and try different things without needing a major "entree". We just ordered pizza for everyone at mine, no muss, no fuss! We never heard any complaints (to…
  • I just want to applaud all of the ladies in this thread. I think more people should adopt this attitude before jumping into TTC :) I committed to MFP 6 months ago for similar reasons. I had a rare type of miscarriage in June that put me at risk for cancer, and medically benched me from TTC until they ruled out any threat…
  • Hi there! I'm another "mostly vegan", but eat eggs/dairy once or twice a week (usually when I eat out). Always on the lookout for more veggie friends- feel free to add me! :)
  • Get it, get it, get it. Lol. I was just telling my husband the other day it might be the best present he's ever given me. (And in a way, I guess it's been a present for him too, since he can't seem to keep his hands off me these days... ;) ) I've done 30DS and RI30 on and off for years, and was content to just keep doing…
  • It was six weeks, but only "2 lbs" according to the scale. And thanks :)
  • Friendly veggie here too! I eat about 98% vegan (usually have eggs from my friend's farm once a week). I'm also a Jillian fan- I'm on Phase 2 of Body Revolution. She's tough but effective :)
  • Healthy Happy Life is my all time favorite for recipes: http://kblog.lunchboxbunch.com/ Oh She Glows (http://ohsheglows.com/) and This Rawsome Vegan Life (http://www.thisrawsomeveganlife.com/) are also fantastic, though I'm not into the whole raw food/vegan thing personally. They provide tons of whole-food substitutes for…
  • ^ this. Back when I started this summer (have lost quite a bit more since then) I had a "plateau". I only lost 2lbs over the course of 6 weeks. In those 6 weeks I was kicking *kitten* at my diet and working my butt off doing Body Revolution, so I had no idea why the scale wasn't moving. I felt like giving up, until I saw…
  • After 5 months of weekly and monthly blood tests, just got the word that I'm officially clear and tumor free! Bumpin' to celebrate :)
  • Hi Alexarose- that's awful :( I have had endo since I was 9 (started my period at 8) and it's no joke. (I'm guessing you've already done these things, but I'll ask anyway) Have you asked your Dr. about switching off the Mirena and trying a different BCP? Or having a laporoscopy to treat the endometriosis? Are they sure you…
  • Hopefully someone with a bit more technical knowledge might chime in, but I had something similar happen, so I thought I'd at least share my experience. I'm not familiar with Focus t25, but I know when I started Jillian Michael's Body Revolution (which is more strength focused than cardio, but has a decent cardio element)…
  • Wow. Just...wow. I found it challenging to just complete a 5k in 3.5 months. You are a rock star.
