  • I often fix a blender full of smoothie for breakfast, and they're usually between 650 and 850. It takes me around three hours to drink, it gets me nine servings of fruits and veggies for the day, and I feel terrific doing it! :) But I usually walk around 20 miles per day, so I can afford it! :)
  • I count the lowest as actual Loss, but according to my own head, I 'weigh' whatever it said that morning. So when my mother asks, :), I say "I've lost 21 pounds", though I might be a pound or 4 ounces or 3 pounds higher the day of asking. I've been weighing daily for a couple of months, and noting the trends... though even…
  • The day before yesterday, I walked 60k steps. 28.4 miles. The important thing to note here, is that The Next Day? I felt awesome. No aches, no pains, no tiredness. :) Satisfaction, my friends! <3 (And now I'm going for a walk with hubby.... will check in for real later today. Have an awesome day!)
  • Hi everyone! My family had a major transition to get through this week... our Saint Bernard, Annabelle (whom we have had since my 10 year old daughter was one) stopped walking, and then stopped eating, so we had lots of tears to cry, and then we had to love her the best way we could, and lay her to rest. Naturally, this…
  • @traceys4 .... yes! When I bought a new scale two weeks ago, it came with an Eat Smart measuring tape! It actually hooks into itself, and retracts the extra space, so no more guesswork! I love that. When I started taking my measurements I was like, "What's the point of this??!?" There was no way to do it the exact same way…
  • I love my Charge HR. I got it for the same reason.... heart rate. It doesn't do so well on counting steps at home (walking in place with games, or aerobics). but since it considers heart rate in figuring how hard you're working, it seems pretty good. As far as the step count goes, I've become accustomed to the low count…
  • I empathize, @moremonica -- I am a dessert girl. !! And I've also accomplished great things be 'seeing how it goes'. Go, you!!!
  • Just for Today, January 18: 13 cups water (including green tea) 9 fruits and veggies 2 hours, 15 minutes of workouts 31000 steps (I'll rethink this if my foot is hurting, it's a bit iffy at the moment)
  • Weigh in day! Down 3.8. Finally!, lol. (I get on the scale every day, so it's fun to see it go down! :) ) In other news... did well on my goal of 500cal under every day. Veggies is going great.. getting 9+ every day, including fruits, variety of colors. New goals for this week.... - 500 calories under minimum (same) - 2…
  • I second Leslie Sandsone videos... posture is easy in those. You won't need a class for demonstration, either. She has videos on youtube, as well as many available dvd's. Very simple steps, but a good, solid workout, especially when you add weights. I use two and three pound dumbells.
  • @sue_01... do you enjoy friends and challenges on fitbit? If so, my fb address is https://www.fitbit.com/user/3XM8QC
  • I had a scale (before this week) that was totally unreliable... I'd get on, then get off, then get on, and it'd say 4 pounds difference. In three seconds. :) Yeah, no. I ordered a new one. :) Now I weigh in my drawers, in the morning. I make it the most consistent that I can get it. :)
  • I'm a bit over two months in. Before this week, (according to my inaccurate, unreliable scale), I bounced between the same six pounds for three weeks, about. I read and read and read, kept walking and exercising, started paying more (extra!) attention to weighing foods, bought two new scales... one for me, and one for…
  • Side challenges: Jumping jacks: I did pretty good! I got out of my cozy bead before light to do some modifieds, and I was active much of the day. I didn't stop my workouts to do them... I supposed that wasn't necessary. :) I'm willing to take the penalties if I'm wrong! I had like 6 or 7 workouts that day, so pretty often.…
  • Ah, you'll get there, @moremonica ! And for now-- just do what you gotta do! :)
  • Nice, @BernieMBurke ! Well done!
  • I have the Charge HR, too, and love it! I got it a few days before Christmas. It was irritating at first, as I do a lot of low-impact aerobics, and play a walk-at-home wii game, and it counts about 2/3 of my steps.... but after being aggravated about it, now I just shrug, and work harder. :) I figure that can't be a bad…
  • So nice to meet you, @traceys4 ! And glad you got caught up! Have a fantastic run! <3 So about the Processed foods.... :) I'm hungry (amazing as I'm just finishing my smoothie!) and I'm like "Mmmmm... a grilled turkey (high protein) and swiss (also high protein) sandwich on sourdough! And a couple of potato chips. Mmmm.…
  • :) @jackiechenery62 ..... Nice!!! Congratulations!! :) @mbsfitlife ... I am, for now. :)
  • Ack!... no processed foods. Knew I shoulda looked that up early! :( Greek yogurt is a big, big part of my protein intake... and I have that every morning. (Already drinking my smoothie, at 9am.) @mia2xtran Oh! Sorry to hear about your troubles! Take good care of yourself this weekend! @HealthyGinny I'm sorry you're down.…
  • @night_watcher and @L_Master I wasn't really worried about a true plateau, I think it's too early for that. I've only been here (actively working on fitness) for two months. I was more concerned about weighing foods and keeping a tighter record, and what was being counted on my fitbit and mfp records as caloric burns. And…
  • I'm fourteen years older than you, and have two children, 14 and 10. Much the same, for the rest. I walk well over 10 miles per day, and work off (exercise) at least 1000 calories daily. I don't skimp on my favorite foods (and drinks), because I'm in it for the long haul--and I believe in being happy. I just budget them…
  • I love dessert and beer.... often..... so I love workouts. :)
  • Looking forward to the first 10% of body weight gone! :)
  • :D I was hoping others would have funny stories.... I'm at home, so meh. Boring!! Love yours, @kdcomstock89 .
  • I keep walking. My calves have been tight every day for two and a half months. :)
  • Lol @moremonica ! I'm glad you lived to tell the tale! I'm in a time of extra water (and tender in the chest department), so I'll be doing a low-impact variety! :)
  • Everyone has been entering their stats in the log, right? :) It's here, in case you haven't been.... https://nightwatcher.typeform.com/to/Ylf6IC You can enter the proper date, and enter your stuff, even if you were 'off' in a category!
  • @L_Master , congratulations on the soda! That's awesome. I think I feel the way about beer that lots of people feel about soda. :) (Haven't been having it lately, as it can get dang expensive -calories.) I love your goal of <5% junkfood... it's a great frame! Something like that would work for me, too, as I'm definitely…
