  • I've only got 3, but I'm 40 and my youngest is 20 months. I feel like I still look pregnant.
  • This is a good question...and the honest answer is that I've never thought about it. I can point at a specific thing and say I think it's healthy, but defining healthy overall is hard.
  • I made it a whole week logging everything...and I lost 6lbs (most of which was probably bloat), but I feel really good. Less like a sausage stuffing itself into its casing. Goal this week is to go to the gym at least 3 times. I've got 2 in, but couldn't go last night because it was Halloween and I have little kids, can't…
  • I stay out of it unless they specifically ask me the age old "Why am I not losing weight?" Then I might point out their calorie burns look a little suspect.
  • You microwave eggs at work? That's pretty heinous....like the dude that sits behind me eating a tuna sub at his desk yesterday...
  • I tend to do the same things you do where I'm 100% gung ho and then fall off the wagon. I realized that I was thinking about it too much. I mean, I'd count religiously, feel amazing when I managed a low deficit for the day/week/month and then I'd blow up and have a binge(s)/quit and rationalize that it was ok to do so…
  • I eat oatmeal at work pretty much everyday. Just add hot water. Another good option is to pre-make an egg sandwich (if you eat eggs). I make them in bulk since I have hubs and 3 hungry boys too. I cook the eggs in a muffin tin, and when they cool, I just smack them on an english muffin with cheese, and then wrap up in…
  • I tend to mix real pasta and spiralized veggies. That way that 200 calorie serving of pasta gets stretched. By the way, spaghetti squash roasted then tossed with some bacon, peas, and topped with a poached egg and some parm is like the best lower calorie comfort food. The yolk becomes your sauce when you cut into the egg…
  • Hi. I'm a serial starter. I've been on MFP with regularity since the birth of my 2nd son. He's 5. After he was born I lost about 35lbs on here. Then I fell off the wagon. Then I got pregnant with #3 son and decided to eat whatever I wanted since it was my last pregnancy and the only one I didn't have horrible morning…
  • @TheRoadDog you are totally my hero.
  • What about raw? I love a good salad over a grain instead of lettuce. I'm not real into lettuce. But if cooked I prefer roasted or grilled veggies. Steamed veggies are kind of bland. This also makes a big difference, but are you buying fresh, frozen, or canned? I won't touch canned, and frozen veggies are mostly steamed…
  • I struggle with this too. So, I just decided that unless it's meal time (and I've been observing meal times that day with no snacks) or my stomach is growling with hunger then I'm not hungry and hence must be satisfied. The only meal I tend to overeat is dinner and binges are always at night. I'm too busy during the day,…
  • Congrats on your pregnancy. Honestly, I was so sick when pregnant with my first two babies that I ate whatever the hell I wanted with the 3rd one. That's probably why I'm back on here. lol. I agree with the poster who said to make sure you drink enough. I was always thirstier when expecting. Have they done any bloodwork…
  • Anaheim chilis aren't too hot. You could also use poblanos. Keep in mind, you can control the heat of some peppers just by removing the seeds. A de-seeded jalapeno isn't very spicy at all. Just be careful to either wear gloves or wash you hands like crazy after de-seeding some spicy peppers. I like stuffed peppers. You can…
  • tonight....probably fajitas. My 7 year old gets irritated if we don't eat something at least resembling tacos on Tuesday.
  • I make a chocolate pie out of it. Basic chocolate graham cracker crust (or oreo if you have the calories), Blend the tofu with 1/4 cup milk, 2 tbs sugar, and 5 oz of melted nestle morsels. Pour in pie crust, put in fridge for about 2 hours to set up. Hubs is lactose intolerant so I'm always trying to cut back on dairy.
  • I got one for Christmas and have made a bunch of stuff in it, but I'm struggling still with cooking times and the amount of liquid. I can't seem to grasp that liquid doesn't evaporate and I've got a tendency to add too much. I made hardboiled eggs once and the yolks were more done than I like them. I did a 5 minute cook…
  • I have 3 kids that are ages 6, 4, and 1. The oldest and youngest eat anything I put in front of them...the middle child, not so much. What I do is to always have either two veggies or a veggie and a fruit at every meal. My rule is that you don't have to eat both, but you have to at least try 1. I served those kids…
  • I'm usually hangry the first week or two of counting, but then it becomes the new normal. If you are still hangry at 6 weeks I'd add a 200 calorie snack in the afternoon before you get hangry. I'm losing 2lbs a week eating about 1300 calories and I'm 38, 210lbs and only 5'3. I also do no exercise right now.
  • I run like a mermaid that just traded it's voice for legs. I'm running 12 minute miles. A jog for most people feels like and all out sprint to me. But, I kinda like so I do it anyway.
  • I've, no lie, still got a first generation vivofit. It's lasted for 4 years and still gets the job done. I bought my hubs a garmin vivosmart HR+ and he loves it. Got if for him for Christmas. Sadly, I think he uses it more to see his email and stuff then for actual exercise. Good intentions....
  • I'm too old to be in the thread. Born in 78. I must be a tail end Gen X'er.
  • NO. I want them to eat when hungry. I control the foods that are available since I grocery shop. That is enough.
  • I feel like I'm too fat here to respond, since I'm struggling with my eating since having the baby 5 months ago...if he would just start sleeping through the night I'd have more energy and eat less. Anyway, I LOVE bread. I think it might be my spirit animal. That said, I learned a couple of years ago that I have a bunch of…
  • we just got a starbucks in my office building. It's our cafeteria. I've been trying to avoid going in there. Yesterday, I forgot my lunch and bought a sandwich and a latte....It was $10. Too rich for my blood. K-cups it is.
  • To be honest, I don't understand how this is even a "movement." I could give a rat's *kitten* about how fat anyone is besides myself.
  • I don't know if they are "good" but when I go into my most frequently logged foods I've got coffee, oatmeal, eggs, apples, and carrots.
  • I totally agree with @amyr271. Is it possible you miss your "junk food" and are obsessing over it. I totally do that. Maybe leave 200 calories for a treat at the time of day you need it most. For me, that is at night. I like some ice cream or chocolate. By not denying myself these things I tend to be more satisfied and…
  • I've tried all of these and they aren't IPAS with the exception of the Ballast Point and the Evil Twin. I rated them accordingly. Bikini Beer, Evil Twin Brewing, Brooklyn, NY (88 cal) - meh and it's super bitter Brooklyn ½ Ale, Brooklyn Brewery, NY (102 cal) - I generally love Brooklyn, but again this was not a good full…
