  • If you like to play Food Poison Roulette, sure. However, it is a MUCH better (and safer) idea to cook the meat after you thaw it. Then you can refreeze it safely. Read up, MFPeeps: www.foodsafety.gov
  • Are you an addict? Because that's the only detox I know of that's actually a "thing". Everything else is marketing.

  • Got to go in December 2012. Spent NYE in Bangkok and 5 glorious days on Ko Tao. Fantastic. You'll love it!
  • TJ's has a Harvest Grain Blend that I love and forgot all about until recently. It's got pearl cous cous, quinoa, orzo, and I think lentils, but I don't remember. It's great instead of rice on some nights. I eat it in the winter. Really hearty. My all-time favorite, of course, the Raw Sugar and Salt-covered Dark Chocolate…
  • Maybe I'm a total nerd, but I love using my scale. It makes everything so much easier. Plus, measuring out my food means that I can make it last as long as I need it to, and I know how much to buy next time. I also really enjoy logging my food. I should leave the thread now....
  • Coffee is joy. I'll take it any way I can get it. I just finished a half-pound of English Toffee flavored coffee this week, though I prefer dark roasts, with a splash of half and half and a packet of raw sugar. I have a French press, a Keurig, and an espresso maker. Obsessed? Not me. :)
  • As of now: Ghosts 'n' Stuff (feat. Rob Swire) - Deadmau5 Levels - Avicii Lights (Bassnectar Remix) - Ellie Goulding My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark - Fall Out Boy Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) - Journey We Can Make the World Stop - The Glitch Mob Girl from the North Country - Sons of Anarchy soundtrack (don't know…
  • Hon, that's not bullying. It's abuse. If you need to, please talk to a counselor or therapist. I can tell you that, without a doubt, the psychological hurdles are harder than any workout or diet will ever be. The damage of their words and actions has been done. But it's not the end of the story. You get to write that part.…
  • I've been drinking whisky, as well, instead of a second beer. I feel a bit of a badass ordering scotch. :drinker: Also, OP, I have a lot of breweries in my area that do flights of 4-5 beers. That might be worth looking into if you're just looking to try new stuff.
  • General beer lover here, but I love me a good craft beer. I started out low carb as well, but ended up relaxing it a little bit to fit in my beers. You can totally find a happy medium. I make sure most, if not all, of my carbs come from fruits and veggies. I don't worry about the ones that come from beer. I might bump up…
  • ...I'm so going to eat strawberry poptarts this weekend.
  • This is exactly what I'm talking 'bout. I don't lose a pound a night when I sleep more, but the losses are still pretty significant.
  • Excellent. I had just posted about this earlier. Thank you so much!
  • Thank you both. I'm reading through Dr. Amen's website right now. Interesting stuff.
  • Props to you for donating! :) Be mindful of how you feel after you give blood. No, they don't take that much, but your body is working to make more. You're gonna feel a little...off. Eat some meat, if you're so inclined. Cook it yourself, if you can. Think of it as a sign of respect for your body for doing a good deed. :D
  • Granted, I only read about 8 pages of this thread, but I thought I would chime in. In 2002, a woman sued the manufacturer of Pirate's Booty snacks because the food item contained almost three times the amount of fat and calories as it had listed on the nutrition facts label. The company not only had to fight a $50 million…
  • I think they're fine so long as you know what you're getting when you make it. If you feel like eating a sandwich, you can chose to enjoy a turkey bacon, tomato and spinach sandwich on grain bread (instead of your standard BLT). However, I don't think they can do the job of tackling a serious craving. If you're at the…
  • I've had red potatoes for dinner the past three nights *shrugs*
  • I once tried some pasta made from quinoa, just for a change... 'twas awful. Awful, awful.
  • Yup, I want to be hot. I have never been the "hot" friend, and I just turned 28. I don't think it's ridiculous to want be smokin' hot by the time I'm 30, no?
  • Because I'd like to be the hot friend, for once.
  • i would start tracking your fiber, if you're not already. In my humble experience, going from 0 to 60mph in the fiber fast lane....well...you're gonna have a bad time. Let's just leave it at that. You'll get used to it, but. Yeah.
  • You are so cute. You'd probably be horrified to know what I was doing on my 21st. ...actually, I'd really like to know, too. It's all....fuzzy.
  • I'm sorry there's been so much loss in your life lately. But don't feel bad about the lack of motivation. I think that's normal, because your thoughts are elsewhere most of the time these days, yes? Many of us are emotional eaters, myself included. I recently had to deal with the loss of my grandfather and we found out a…
  • You're 21, an adult, and it's time to start acting like one. The only person who can sabotage you is yourself, so take responsibility and deal with it however you have to. Too harsh?
  • This week: English Toffee-flavored coffee (YES!) Eggs Pork chops Chicken thighs Baby spinach Bananas Broccoli Red pepper flakes Swiss chard Chia seeds Green lettuce Red leaf lettuce Raspberry vinaigrette Blue cheese 2 Luna bars Peanut butter Frozen cod Should have picked up some almond milk too since I'm almost out, but…
  • Eat from the appetizer menu. It's usually plenty of food for a meal and you can try a couple different things. I sometimes did that before MFP whenever I went to a new restaurant so I can try the food without committing to a meal. Yesterday I ate a carne asada quesadilla and chicken taquitos off the apps menu and came in…
