  • Many people say after going keto, they aren't hungry. I guess I'm not really that hungry either but I still have the desire to snack between meals. I try to replace with having a diet soda or cup of tea. Mostly it's just boredom as you say and wanting to "take a break". I reccomend Dr Cywes on youtube if you think you have…
  • 1. If they are just fish with no carbs added, than sure. 3. The goal is 20 carbs or less per day (whether net or whole carbs is individual decision. ) Yes I suppose you could do 20 carbs in cake instead of vegetables but it wouldnt be very healthy. Worse than that, you probably wouldnt get over your carb and sugar cravings…
  • I most often eat broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, lettuce, green onion. Usually eat about a cup of veg with dinner. Eat berries once a week on sugar free frozen yogurt.
  • Genteal brand OTC eye drops really helped my dry eyes. Use at bedtime as it's so thick it burns vision. Recommended to me by my optometrist.
  • I just read something useful when thinking about macros. Carbs are a limit (for most people don't go over 20g daily.) Protein is a goal (try to hit to maintain lean muscle.) Fat is a dial; it's adjustable. (Eat enough to not be hungry but no need to add extra. You want your body to get its fat from "storage" if you're…
  • I found this list of research studies https://resistantstarchresearch.com/clinical-research-summary/resistant-starch-clinical-list/
  • Check out 2 Keto Dudes podcast. One of the "dudes" ( Carrie) is symptom free from bi polar using keto.
  • Sometimes a fast can help get back into ketosis after a higher carb episode. I usually just manage a modified fast where I don't eat until dinner. I did a fat fast recently that worked to get me back in ketosis. Drank only a couple BP teas and had some fat bombs (very low carb ones) then for dinner had a protein shake.…
  • I've been using it several times a week and haven't noticed much but not sure how I'd know if it was helping my gut. I did test it and it didn't cause my blood glucose to go up or lower my ketones. Resistant Starch carbs are not supposed to be digestible but supposedly feed your gut bacteria.
  • I'm 65 and have just over a year doing keto. I was already on a weight loss journey before starting keto, but had plateaued for over a year doing low fat and counting calories. Since starting keto I've lost 20 more pounds and am only 2 pounds from goal. Better than that, I no longer crave sweets and I'm not constantly…
  • I just rely on mug bread or chaffles for sandwich purposes. I have heard that you can buy extra fine almond flour but I'm wondering if processing it that much would turn almonds into a food that causes high insulin spike?
  • Amazing change in 4 months! I'm sure your a1c will be much lower.
  • If you are doing this to lose weight: Don't worry too much about macros. Just count carbs. Let protein and fats take care of themselves. If you are hungry add some more fat but don't try to eat fat to a certain level.
  • Today a leftover hamburger patty and some left over veggies. Trying to reduce fridge clutter. Lol
  • Use extra salt or low carb electrolyte drinks. Any sudden change in how we eat can have an adjustment period. Your body is used to certain foods and you're changing that.
  • I used to use flavored creamers too before keto. Now I use 1T heavy cream and 1T sugar free syrups of various flavors. Haven't found any with a really keto friendly sweetener tho.
  • If you don't eat meat then eggs will probably be your go-to. A lot of good keto egg options out their. Search for chaffles and eggloaf recipes. I try to keep things simple with basically eating meat or eggs and veg. Like for lunch I had some leftover taco ground beef so i nuked it with some broccoli and topped with a small…
  • Not sure but even no change is surprising. I've been seeing a lot of info over the years that suggests even artificial sweeteners don't have calories, they still may effect blood sugar levels.
  • I can't do low carb ketosis though. I was dx as t2 diabetic last year so going full ketosis is dangerous for me. So I try to stick at 7net carbs or lower, 10net on gym days. Check out Dr Westman and Dr Jason Fung on YouTube. Both use keto diet to treat patients with T2D. Your meds do have to be carefully monitored because…

  • On YouTube Dr Westman has easy guidelines. Also Go Keto With Casey. Shes very good at stating basics needed. It's better to start simple. People love to over complicate and you can always fine tune later.

  • Keto waffle. I double keto mug bread (3T almond flour, 1 T butter, 1/2t baking soda,1 egg) Makes a large waffle in waffle iron. Eat with more butter and sugar free syrup.
  • I saw one Dr (sorry don't remember name) who reccomends a 7 day fast annually as a cancer preventative because of autophagy.
