I know this is true for green lentils, but the red ones supposedly don’t need this? My mom has made soup with them and it’s been fine, and the package doesn’t have those instructions.

https://www.groupon.com/local/toronto/personal-trainer However typically gyms are proprietary and you need to pay their rates, bringing in an external one is only acceptable at budget gyms like planet fitness, or if you’re working out in a gym in your condo/apartment or something. Often there are beginner packages. Yes…

I would recommend contacting a gym or physical therapist that specializes with physical disabilities. The gym I go to happens to have lots of programs, and they have physical therapists on site and a bunch of other disability friendly stuff like hand bikes and wheelchair accessible weight machines (also a snozlen room for…

Thanks!! I usually use canned beans, but I used dried lentils this time and I’ll definitely do that next time.
-
Thanks! Is that different from powdered cumin? The recipe has that already, but I can easily add more when I add liquid and re-boil. If it’s something else I’ll need to buy it.

Thanks guys!! So I won’t be able to take them as lunches as they are, but maybe I can have them at home and boil them on the stove for a bit beforehand? I have beans most days but yeah it’s been a while since I’ve made lentils. I cooked it in the crock pot on high for 6 hours so I thought it was plenty but maybe more next…

I started getting a massive hair shed around when I hit 40lbs lost. It was coming out in handfuls and I had to cut my (then past waist-length hair to a bob) just to be able to brush out all the falling, tangled hair. I was also under-eating some days and getting occasional dizzy spells. I wasn’t accurately tracking…

Doctor, physio therapist. Exercise injuries need to be taken seriously.

Thank you for all the great advice! Types of movements I currently am limited with include: running, jumping, twisting, lunging. So yes, jump-kicks would be off the table for a while at least. I currently have access to in-gym classes for a fee in addition to my gym membership. However I do know of some specialty studios…

Thank you! They are classes at my gym and everything just says “all abilities welcome” however I’ve learned from experience it’s not accurate. Eg. The Zumba class includes a ton of turning-while-jumping and the twisting jump is bad for my knee.
-
Totally. However if I show up at the gym with stuff, I will exercise. If I’m at home I will not. Even if I know I can.
-
I would love to do that but I think you need to be more fit to get one! It’s for weight lifting right? Plus they are soooo expensive.
-
I love that! I would absolutely love to do something like that. The things I am motivated to do all have people in them. Just knowing I could get out of my student solitary confinement lol would be great. However I’m not sure I’m physically capable of something like that. I can’t do any jumping, squating, lunging, or…

We are almost stats twins! Im 5’2 168lbs and 25. My high weight from the end of 2017 is 205. My low weight from 2018 was 158.. I regained a bit during the winter- also a winter hater!! I have my goal at 1600 now, for a 1/2lb/week. I keep a list of what each rate of loss is (1lb/week 1380 .5lb/week 1630 Maintenance 1880),…

I find it extraordinarily awkward when it’s even my parents and aunts. However it’s still validating. When I was about 30lbs down my mom thought it was ten. It took till 40 for other people to notice. Even then it was “hey have you lost a bit of weight? Good for you” and then moving on to other topics. It was never an…

Thanks! It doesn’t specify anything which is why it’s confusing.

I think this is a great example. I am all for creating an accessible option for obese people. A plane chair, etc. Peoples lives don’t stop because they’re obese. And as was well pointed out above, people don’t stop being obese immediately after doing all the right things. But trying to pretend being obese isn’t a health…

Friday August 30: 167.2 UHM WHAT. The lowest I've seen all week was 169.2. That can't be right though.....it's great but....I am skeptical lol

Thank you so much for all of these great comments <3 Thank you for sharing <3 <3 <3 I do as well. Mostly anxiety, but I get infrequent depressive episodes connected to how much I berate myself for not measuring up on everything. It goes from quiet to loud and then I can get sad for long periods of time. Thank you. You too…

This. Weighing in at night is a terrible idea. Bodies are inconsistent- this is the entire reason why we use a trending app, to avoid including these fluctuations in the trend and see our “real” low, or the general trend over a long period of time. If you can’t do that, you can’t use a weight trending app and it will be…

I get pure protein because it’s the cheapest, and their chocolate one is 180cal with 21g of protein. A little over your calorie budget, but I would say if you cut it in half it would be more protein for the calorie, at 10.5g/90cal. That’s the best I’ve personally seen, but I also don’t look at more expensive products.

All Bran Buds! I put them in yogurt like granola, with berries - it’s delicious!

Sure, I lost 48lbs last summer and I gained back 20, and now I’m 11lb from that previous mark, but I still have another 30lb to my final goal. My diary is public so you can friend me or not and still see what I’m eating, if it interests you.

This is a great insight, thank you! If/when I do get a tracker it will not have HR. I was definitely picking up the hype but not the why, and I think it’s just hype.
-
Thank you! I am going to wait until December to buy one, and maybe I will start occasionally tracking my resting HR on my own to see if it's a metric I'm interested in continuing to know. I'm fairly sure it's high, but I honestly haven't truly tracked it since I was in high school gym class, where we had a worksheet of…
