  • I'm currently trying to kick sweets too. Mine started with chocolate and moved onto chocolate plus other sweets. I've removed it from the house and started having a Werther's sugar free chocolate caramel hard candy after meals. Having a sweet after a meal is my downfall. I've done this before and was able to control the…
  • one and a half cups of coffee in the morning, cup of tea around 3. Any later will mess with my sleep
  • I know this is an old post that has been bumped but there is good information here. In regards to the precooked chicken that you can buy, I find that it tastes "off" to me. I like grilled chicken for salads but have yet to find a way for the leftovers to have the freshly grilled taste it has the first day.
  • This happens to me in my stomach when I'm in weight loss mode.
  • I take antipsychotics which I've been tapering off for the past couple of months. I already feel less ravenously hungry all the time and starting to lose weight again. I don't know if tapering off or lowering your dosages is an option for you, but I wanted to share my experience.
  • I just read something similar about eating more times a day, specifically snacks causes your liver, pancreas and your hormones to work overtime affecting the production of leptin leading to causing false hunger. I've always thought snacking keeps you from overeating. I am truly getting fed up with all the contradictory…
  • Would this be the same as intermittent fasting by skipping breakfast?
  • I did a lot of step in the 90s and it kept me in good shape. My local Y still has step aerobics classes that I take once a week. I also have a step bench and I have some Beachbody DVDs that I was doing for a while. I need to get back to it, it is a great workout and I need to lose the lbs I gained due to menopause and…
  • I think that is called calorie cycling. I've never done it but I'm doing something similar that involves carb cycling where some days are higher carbs, some very low. Others on here may weigh in. I'd be interested to find out how doing your calories like that works out for you.
  • I'm on meds for mental health and I find they increase my appetite by messing with my hunger signals. I have researched this and found it to be true. So mental issues don't necessarily cause me to overeat but the meds I take for it are the problem. But I can't stop taking them, my mental stability requires that I take…
  • I need to learn to embrace that slightly hungry feeling. I know it gets easier over time
  • Thanks for all the great replies and advice!
  • Could you be lactose intolerant?
  • I have noticed that when I cut out sugar and sweets my appetite decreases
  • Thanks everyone for the comments, they were extremely helpful to me
  • Yoga helped, but then I had a massage and then it was gone and never came back.
  • I had liposuction done on my upper and lower abdomen about ten years ago. I waited until I was down to my ideal weight. Although I have put weight back on, my stomach still doesn't look half as bad I know it would luck just going by the way the female members of my family look with excess fat on their lower abdomen. I had…
  • I was able to maintain my weight through the holiday season, even eating cookies almost every day by doing IF. I didn't lose, but I also didn't gain. Then I stopped and gained 2 lbs in a week. I;m back to IF this week, it works for me. It also makes me less hungry.
  • Mojito made with diet Sprite
  • This is the same for me. This is probably contrary to this site but intermittent fasting and calorie counting didn't work for me. I lost 10 lbs on the Fast Metabolism Diet which is only certain kinds of bread, pasta, and rice. No potatoes, dairy or sugar. It focuses more on vegetables and healthy fats. It forced me to add…
  • I had this same exact experience, I find the message boards here much more helpful and the same and in some cases better advice and information is provided.
  • Thanks for all the replies, I learned a lot. I'm glad I can just talk to google if I get stuck on the math
  • Thanks. I noticed that some of the entries in the food database only have ounces. What do you do if there isn't a gram measurement? I going to try and tighten up my logging and can use all the help I can get lol
  • @chocolate_owl I'm friends with my husband so he can grab meals out of my diary, but I don't add other people because I find myself not being as honest about what I've eaten in case they look. How do you let someone grab meals our of your diary? Me and my daughter would like to do this
  • I find that Old Navy clothes run big
  • I do IF by skipping breakfast. Maybe I should reverse it and skip dinner the day before my weigh in?
  • This is why I weigh in on Fridays. My weekends are typically where I'm less restrictive. I need to work on that however because sometimes I go a little too much off my eating plan.
  • I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one but as an update, I started thinking about @KevHex comment that this may be a disordered thinking about weight loss, so I made a decision to eat a normal dinner yesterday evening and I was down 1 lb this morning! Thank you for the feedback. I just need to accept slow and steady. I have…
  • Thanks for the replies. I honestly think this behavior is left over from my weight watchers days and the negative or positive feedback I would receive from the WW counselor that did the weigh ins.
  • It sounds like many of you have this down to a science. I appreciate all the feedback and will incorporate a lot of what you've shared. Wish me luck!
