  • We have Catfish and Admiral Sparkle-Punch. But Catfish is his middle name so that maybe doesn't count. Sparkle-Punch also goes by Wellington P. Bellington - Because you can get a lot of volume when shouting a longer name - it carries across the house and down the stairs.
  • I think you have to take into account your height. 140lbs on a short person is going to look a LOT different on a much taller person.
  • I think depression can be a factor in weight loss and gain due to the emotional ties that food has for people. I don't think it has much effect on your metabolism though so, if you're within your calorie goal and exercising then I can't see how it would reduce your weight loss significantly. However, I am not a doctor. I…
  • Yes, usually all the time. 30 pounds since February.
  • I found that cheese and deli meat keep me fuller than bread and other stuff. The protein is more complex and harder to digest than simple carbohydrates. That said, yes, I am hungry often. It took me a while to learn how to ignore it. I chew gum, drink water or get up and walk around. I've been using this website since…
  • Planning is essential. ALWAYS keep snacks like carrots and cheese (or sliced turkey) around. I make hummus and keep it in the fridge with carrots. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are high in calories but they will fill you up for a long time. Pair the PB&J with an apple, three carrots and maybe some yogurt and you have…
  • I use really nice balsamic vinegar. The older it is, the thicker - more syrupy it is. It is great on broccoli and salads, chicken, pork - pretty much anything. Well, maybe not waffles.

  • \\ AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....thank you. I had the same problem.
  • I snarfed.
  • Is it the week after your period? Maybe you're losing water weight that week?
  • Beer. Oh beer. The cause of...and solution to...all the world's problems.
  • Semi-frozen yogurt with a tablespoon of either maple syrup, chocolate sauce or honey. It's sweet, kinda solid, and not as caloric as Ben and Jerry's. I second the frozen graham cracker cookies - I use about 1.5 teaspoons of frosting (left over from birthdays n'stuff) but they are less caloric than cake and still tasty!
  • Sorry - PNW = Pacific NorthWest. We have lots of rain here this year. It's making my tomato plants have sad faces.
  • Radish roll! It's tasty! Also - prolly any sashimi will be low fat/lower carb choice (spicy tuna roll may have mayo though not too much) Either way, sushi is very filling after the first 4 pieces. Have some miso beforehand and you'll be all good. And enjoy!

  • Hello and welcome! This is a great site for support and community. Hope you enjoy it!
  • I realize that I don't have slip-up again tomorrow. I turn back around and start over from where I left off. Who's counting? Only me.
  • Hmmm....I have noted this in passing but never really thought about it until I read this thread. I guess I've noticed about a 2 day lag as well. I am interested in seeing other people's replies!
  • I don't think that's an unreasonable caloric burn. Sounds like a great time. Make sure you take your GPS for geocaching!
  • YAY! Team No-Cucumbers! I HATE cucumbers. I can't stand the smell - they smell all.....green. Blah.
  • Ugh, digging post holes for the fence we're putting up. I was hoping to con my husband into it but I think he might be on to me. At least I'll get some exercise!
  • "I'm not crying because some stupid people hurt my feelings. I'm crying because it just hit me for the first time what type of relationship I have with food. I'm not a person who binges but it is still painful to see myself as not in control." Gotcha. That is a tough one. Then I guess the person that isn't letting you be…
  • Also, it might help to get up and dance.(pretend that you're dancing on someone's grave if it helps!)
  • It isn't the end of the world! I am sorry you have people that won't allow you to be human. I guess they are super-human? Well, you don't need to eat to calm down because they aren't worth the trouble or time. Stay strong!
  • This interests me strangely....Thank you for the tip!
  • You can totally do 1600 words. That's like.....16 paragraphs of 100 words each. Or 100 - 16 word sentences. You can totally kick that essay in the *kitten*.
  • Glenmorangie Single Malt Scotch whiskey is only 78 calories a shot and it takes like angel wings. Or at least what I imagine angel wings to taste like, if they were drunken Scottish angels at least. Also, it sounds kinda gross but red wine and San Peligrino makes a suitable wine spritzer. 1 ounce red wine to 5-6 ounces of…
  • Actually, using the sore muscles will help them get less sore (if that makes any sense) Don't over-do your exercising but do keep walking through the soreness, if it's just because of lactic acid buildup in your muscles then it should get better!
  • Hello! You don't have to concentrate all your exercise in one go - if you can do small chunks of 10-15 minutes throughout the day. How about walking up and down your apartment stairs twice when you get home? Once to put your stuff away, once to go back and get your mail and then one more time for good luck! I also suggest…
  • Firstly, congratulations! What a great way to start any day! You deserve glowing appreciation and some sort of fragrant bouquet - or at least the pride and support of your peers. I too have just learned what NSV stands for and I have to admit, I am glad to *finally* have a way to describe those moments, even if they're…
  • Swiss water processing does not use benzene (or other organic solvents). It's basically decaffeination through a series of warm water baths. It works the principle of diffusion. Coffee beans are soaked in green coffee extract and the caffeine molecules travel from the point of high concentration (the beans that are being…
