I guess the wall Pilates isn’t working for chiseled dude anymore.

maybe he does the curls with one of these women sitting in it.

I’ve (finally) learned not to share my weight loss experience (except here, where it’s -sorta- asked for) and def not before and after photos. I’ve been going to my yoga studio for ten years, started obese, lost weight a little less than six years ago. Got into an (polite) disagreement with someone who insisted I was never…

zombie thread, and based on last posters other posts, no need to flag. Innocent link.

Yep. Pages and pages of tips. Don’t forget to search “hacks” too. That’s a trendy word these days.

sadly, everything is a “thing” if people are willing to believe it. Have heard of that before. I posted this on another thread a couple days ago. My head says “who thinks this is real?” but people will fall for it. and, how long before someone has the bright idea of using this as a weight loss enema? You KNOW it’ll happen.

to piggyback on Ann, my gym is hospital affiliated. It started 30+ years ago as a cardiac rehab exercise center, opened to hospital employees, and then to the general public. While it doesn’t seem to be common, sometimes larger hospitals have awesome gyms, open to the public, which - by nature- have an older clientele, and…

pectin. 🤨 Hadn’t thought of that for homemade ice cream….. I prepped a sorbet mix for tomorrow : Orange juice, pineapple, coconut milk powder, and a few maraschino cherries. My husband is obsessed with southern style “ambrosia” at the holidays, and a quick finger lick test indicates this may be a winner as far as he’s…

the lady eating the stick of butter was a short repeating GIF. I have to admit, I must’ve stared at it for five minutes. It was revolting. Part of me kept waiting for the video to continue to the part she either got ill, or busted up laughing. And there were several variations of miracle “bariatric drinks”. I guess that’s…

oooooooooh 😱😱😱😱😱 New find: King of Pops Mango Tangerine popsicle. Oooooooh. Bursting with flavor and only 60 calories Adding mangos and tangerines to the next grocery list. Gonna out that popsicle mold to good use. I forgot about it since last summer. Per wrapper: Mango Tangerine juice Pinch of salt Guessing about a tsp of…

My husband bought home some sacks of river pebbles from Home Depot yesterday. If you need something to help visualize how much weight- pressure is on your knees, I figure I was carrying almost two full bags worth at my highest weight. That's a sobering thought. Poor knees, poor back, poor flat feet from carrying too much…

not that, but my large loss (and resulting ability to become waaaay more mobile) staved off arthritis. I do a lot of very slow, very deliberate stretching and find that keeping everything limber helps a LOT. I’ve got the “travelling arthritis” I used to think was so funny when, as a much younger person, I overheard “old”…

and one final thing, 3 stone in seven months is 42 pounds, or 6 pounds a month, roughly 1.5 pounds’ish a week. . That’s very fast progress. Your rate of loss will slow down considerably as you get lighter and closer to goal. That’s perfectly normal. The last ten pounds can be a real slog for most. it was a shock to me to…

welcome to the boards, @smoss1966 ! first of all, take a moment and congratulate yourself on the massive achievement you’ve already accomplished! I’m not disabled, and ended up being highly active (me! Couch potato!) several month in to my loss. I had plateaus, too. That’s perfectly normal For almost every single user here…

I haven’t hit a good bad ad for a while, but hit a trove of them tonight, on a so-called science website. Enjoy! (his legs don’t look funny at all, right?!) And one just for the sheer horror and potential dangerousness:

….. until I stopped chasing perfect days and just focused on showing up, even if it wasn’t ideal….. This!!!!!

welcome back @2greggs Can you focus on how good it felt to be lighter, and what you did the first time around?

Another Mr S story. Full moon yesterday. We live in a three story house in the central business district, on the direct path from downtown to a popular shelter on the next block. Often much excitement hereabouts as a result. Awoke at 5:30am to the sound of a solo cup being thrown down, and lots of muttering. Peeked out the…

or hit the “edit” button at top left of app (assuming you’re using the app version) and then edit from there. Did you quit school when you couldn’t read after a week? Give up driving when you couldn’t parallel park (I still can’t!) on day one? Why would you give up on a potentially life changing app after a day because you…

last weekends smoked brisket was an epic fail. Tasted glorious at first bite, but unchewable. Just had it in my head I wanted a nice brisket like we used to have for holiday gatherings. Won’t make that mistake again. Wasn’t worth the calories, even had it been edible. Dog has enjoyed it all week. Pricey fail, that, but at…

welcome to MFP, Ruth. For exercise, I get in the mindset of scheduling it both in my head and on my calendar, complete with reminders. I just automatically go for a walk after breakfast and after dinner. It’s like clearing the table or brushing my teeth. I just made myself do it until it became a habit. Now it feels weird…

Lu, you are rocking those leggings!!!!!! what an awesome job!

my yoga studio has a WhatsApp group that does coffee, etc sometimes. Our studio owner also put in a small “living room” in the sunny check-in area that she wants to serve as a community area. People have started coming early and bringing knitting and crochet and hanging out before class. My gym has small groups that get…

Y'all are the best. 😘 btw, this cracked me up: the tucked away cubicle closet of a hospital's token dietician You are uncanny! Our (hospital affiliated) gym dietician’s office is so tiny, she can’t close the door if she has a client, and if two of us (husband came with) are in there, one’s legs are sticking out in the…

you haven’t provide us any information. We don’t know your Dec, age, weight, height, or activity level. And in all honesty, many new users idea of “slow”‘is ridiculously tainted by social media expectations. There’s a few numpties around here who think that 12 pounds in a month is “slow”. Not unless you’re close to or…

welcome to MFP. You need to start your own thread, and be very specific. Sex, age, current weight, activity level, what are your goals? You ask for professional help on the other thread. No one here is a professional. You need to speak with your physician for advice and references for that. Many of us have successfully…

typically raw, unless the entry you choose says otherwise. If I forget to weigh, I find that beefs tend to lose 1/3 and chicken 1/4 after cooking. So as a rough estimate- my cooking style- 4 ounces of cooked beef was originally 6 ounces raw. 4 ounces of cooked chicken was (very) roughly 5 ounces raw. This is without sauces…

easy. I make nutritious dinners, and make sure I have leftovers. They’re equally nutritious and that well. Today will be leftover chicken tacos for lunch. High protein, relatively low calories. If I’m making baked chicken, roast, or grilling a steak, since I have the chopping board out already, I’ll prep some of the meat…

Can you roll back your diary to last year and compare to now? See what you’re doing different. Higher calories? Less exercise? Fewer steps? Don’t hammer at it and give up. If you’d eaten more and stuck with it, you’d probably have lost that first 50 slower, but they’d probably still be off without pressuring yourself too…
