  • I had to stop lifting for 1.5 years with various medical issues and while I gained good amount of weight as far as muscle "strength" when I went back only took 2 months to really get back where I was. Now I was no power lifter but thats my story.
  • Dont know if weird but I use salsa instead of salad dressing on my salad. Never liked any dressing and just tried it since it was a free food in my program. Never tried ordering it that way in a restaurant so I guess that qualifies it as weird.
  • I'll repeat what already been said see the doctor and follow the PT schedule. I partially tore mine almost 2 years ago and it's still not what I'd consider 100% but it's certainly better but still feel weakness in it. The shoulder is a complicated beast and hard to really not use it to let things heal like other muscles.…
  • Probably get 10 different answers here and some people just hate using shakes but for me they work great I use RSP truefit for meal replacement shakes love the taste mixes great.
  • While under doctor and dietitian care for being obese and losing weight used their products in the beginning. Did 2 shakes a day and bar some fruit for snacks and regular meal for dinner. Works very well a tad bland have to like their flavors but at the end of the day their shakes are just meal replacement so have moved to…
  • My slides are related to the little lies we all tell ourselves but know them be a lie. The trigger foods is excellent example saying I've changed and can eat just 1 Oreo a day its a lie will always be a lie for me. People always ask how did I lose my weight and simple answer is I quit lying to myself. The reason people…
  • Read the back mechanic from Stuart McGill he seems to be the only one that has real science behind the back movements and pain. Having done over a year of back pain and the PT method doing nothing for me his methods helped more than anything and really makes far more sense than most of the PT stuff some of which was…
  • Funny how being in shape gets taken for granted and missed when can't do it. Had kidney and back issues laid up for over a year just started back last month. Then just got a chest cold hard to take deep breaths so laying off till that clears up. Annoying but getting old aint for sissies.
  • Ours has been broke for about 12 years now and honestly we live and eat just fine without it. Would be nice at Thanksgiving throws the relatives in a tissey that we dont have one. But the stove works just fine and forces us to do better meals on the stove and cant get the frozen meals that are bad for us anyways.
  • it is a learning curve or more a muscle memory curve. My first time went about the same thought have a heart attack at 4 minutes over time got it to 20+ minutes. Keep at it you'll get it fairly fast.
  • Be truthful to your inner voice and don't lie to yourself if for example if cookies are a trigger don't lie to yourself that you can get a pack of Oreos and eat just 2 a day. And never let a bad day or even a bad week stop you from your goal.
  • When I was very overweight and went in medical weight loss this was the "plan" and it works very well. As my weight got "normal" it has to change as it is I think unsustainable in the long run. But that transition period taught my make the better choices and get more to even percent wise plan try to keep the carbs under…
  • interesting fitness for me has nothing to do with weight it is just a number. Muscle strength and endurance is my metrics when I was out of shape couldn't go up stairs without having heart pound. Doing a 5k was about as likely as going to a moon. But now can do everything I want to in life without fear or worry will my…
  • Look at the Stuart McGill Big 3 exercises to stabilize your back muscles don't go down the road to a bad back. BirdDogs, Curl Ups, Side Planks is the start.
  • I have to disagree they are a meal have the same or better macro splits and limit calories and are faster than a "regular meal" Yes you have to regulate your eating properly and treat them as a meal if you drink 10 shakes a day that is overeating. I've done shakes for over 2 years and lost 120 lbs I find if you have a busy…
  • My other thought is until you can answer honestly why you want to lose the weight which can be anything you want even if just to look better in your eyes, life better longer etc. You must be honest with your inner voice this was key to me I can eat 1 oreo cookie a day and not affect my progress but I won't/can't only eat 1…
  • I lost 120+ at the beginning I went to a medical weight loss program that had dieticians and nurses and doctors to help with classes on nutrition etc. But they put me on a 1500 calorie diet started out at 389lbs and am male just for context. But for exercise all I did was walk the neighborhood could only really do a block…
  • Planks are my go to when the back flares up but yoga has also done wonders on keeping it from flaring up and loosen things up.
  • I personally agree find a set program but I do the reverse 45 minutes lifting 10-15 straight cardio. But I do a lot of hiking and other outdoor cardio type stuff. But find something you enjoy and you will stick to it.
  • I've done and still do 2 shakes a day with protein bar snack and regular meal have for about 2 years down 120+lbs so it works but as my exercise went up I have to increase my food intake I do about 2400 calories a day now vs 1500. Snack on a lot of fruit and fiberous stuff. I've been in medical weight loss so had a doctor…
  • Depends a lot on age, fitness level, what you're doing and what the end goal is. If just weight loss and not doing lifting to save muscle could easily get by with HITT / circuit training for 20-30 minutes a day and be fine. If you are doing lifting probably 1 hour a day depending on the program and some cardio after. But…
  • Pretty much anything that you would use regular rice for substitute cauliflower rice. I do stuffed peppers with it some ground turkey, peppers, sauce, and rice fill and bake 25 mins. And other smoked sausage, rice, broccoli, peppers, and pasta sauce cook up in pan like stir fry.
  • Their PB is terrible love the rest of their stuff. Maple syrup have to not use a lot of get weird after taste. Love dipping fruit in their chocolate sauce.

Could have also been have high blood pressure lost 11 lbs first week so had that much less pressure holding the blood back but I was also around 400 lbs.
