I know how you feel. It's a victory for me every time I drive by the Chinese buffet AND DON'T STOP IN!!!

Where are you at? Our gyms, here in Missouri, have been open for many months, with a mandatory mask rule. The mask rule was lifted/suspended last Friday (May 14th).

Exactly. Why would you keep this doctor? He's obviously ill informed and not very conscientious.

A cheat day is a great way to blow 6 days worth of sensible eating at a deficit. I wasted many weeks/months controlling myself Monday thru Saturday only to blow it on Sunday and wind up with a zero net loss for the week. Hey you asked. . .

Is it pens or pencils? I've seen and heard of horribly expensive PENS. But I'm curious if there are PENCILS that could be considered decadent purchases. Please expound. . .

Started way too high and kinda did a stiff leg. But up it went, 360 lb. deadlift (@ 185 lbs. / 62 years old)

Oops! I forgot the rings. They were expensive for us at the time. Between the 2 of us they cost around $400 (USA - btw).

I'm 62. Been married 40 years. We paid $10 for the license, $20 to the minister & $20 to have the church cleaned afterward. Her mom made the dress, her sister made the cake & punch for the reception in the church basement, her brother took the pictures and our sister-in-law took care of the flowers (all were their wedding…

Gonna check that out. I'm the ONLY person in the gym with a pencil and notebook writing down my sets and reps like a DINOSAUR!

280 lbs. x 1 Workin' my way up!

Absolutely! Anything more than 5 reps in a set is HOGWASH!!!

Glad to see you didn't use straps on this. That makes it even more AWESOME!

Please, cite your clinical studies that validate this statement. I pore over research, double blind clinical studies and data derived from trainers that have worked with thousands of clients, who have FACTS that differ from your conclusion. Please, show us some.

I'm gonna break the rules, because I was too involved with lifting to video (sorry!). But today I did a "mock" powerlifting meet. (Bodyweight ~184 lbs., age 62) Squat attempts were: 225, 245, 275, Bench was: 210, 225, 235, Deadlift was: 275, 315 & 335. I went 9 for 9 and I'm very sure they were all legal according to the…

You are NOT eating at a deficit if you fail to lose weight after 3 weeks. That being said, here's the caveat, , , if your weigh in occurs during that phase of your menstrual cycle where you put on some water weight, that would account for it. Also, if you've lost a considerable amount of weight, what used to be a deficit…

Having lost so much weight in such a short time, many dietitians and lipidologists/physiologists have recommended a "MAINTENANCE" phase in your weight lost efforts. Anywhere from 2/3 as long to the whole length of your diet so far (5 months) you would eat at maintenance, trying not to gain or lose any significant amount of…

sugar/sweet cravings I handle with Wurther's sugar free hard candy. Crunch a couple, and let a couple dissolve will forestall most binging. If not, I make "room" in my calorie count for 1/2 cup of regular ice cream and that does the trick.

This should work: 1) Set your MFP goal to gain 0.5 lb. per week and eat accordingly, 2) Do your resistance training 3 or 4 times a week for 30 minutes. 3) If you are doing more than 20 (some say 30) repetitions per set of an exercise, it's time to go up in weight. Muscle building (hypertrophy) is a byproduct of increased…

To be brutally frank, , , in a world where nearly EVERYONE seems to be offended by nearly EVERYTHING that's said or done to them or even around them, it may be best (for a change) to proceed with a little grace no matter what folks say about your weight loss or appearance change. "Thanks", or "I'm glad you noticed" or "I'm…
