Suggestions for toning regimen for slimmer women?
Hey, guys, I'm reaching the end of my weightloss phase and am close to where I want to be, weight and size-wise, so I'm thinking of preparing a fitness regimen for maintenance and toning. Since I have never been a gym-goer, I'm not sure what I need to do, and thought maybe you guys could suggest a routine. I'm not…

How long would it take me to gain 3 lbs of muscle?
I'm going to start hitting the gym in order to trade 3 lbs of body fat for 3 lbs of muscle. According to my scale I'm currently sitting at 20.8% BF and have 27 lbs of fat on me. Swapping out 3 lbs would leave me at like 18.5% with nice tone, which I think is my ideal goal. So suppose I lift three times a week... how long…

Just tried shirataki noodles for the first time. Like!
I really don't see why people fuss so much about the smell and texture of shirataki noodles... I mean, the liquid it comes packed in does have a shellfish scent, but it rinses right off and the noodles become odorless/flavorless. And the texture is, well, maybe a little more "snappy" than Italian pasta, but not by much! I…

Vanity sizing now exists even in size charts!
Ugh, I am so frustrated with labels that lie! I just came from the American Eagle jeans size chart, and the chart is flat-out lying. Now it's not even about size inflation (today's size 6 used to be the 90s' size 10, we all know that)... But now the size charts are even giving you the wrong measurements for their current…

How can I make my lean pork loins more moist/tender?
(Warning: I do not have an oven or toaster oven, only burners and a microwave. I pan-fry all my meats with no-cal Pam spray.) I made my first pork loin (lean and thin-cut) just now and it came out really tough and dry. I cooked it on medium-low heat, covered, for 1 minute thirty seconds on each side. I didn't want to…

Where to measure waist?
I've heard various different recommendations given - some say to measure at the navel, some say an inch or two above the navel, some say at the narrowest part of the waist. All three methods might yield the same number for someone who has a rectangular, straight-up-and-down midsection, but I am hourglass-shaped with a…

How many pounds does it take you to lose an inch?
Hi, I was wondering what your individual correlations between measurements and weight are. For people who work out, measurements and weight don't correlate strongly, I know, because of changing degrees of muscle tone/mass. But I don't work out and have noticed that, for example, whenever I weigh 135, my hips are exactly 38…

Bullcrap claims from sources you should be able to trust.
http://bostonherald.com/entertainment/health_fitness/mr_fit/2013/03/5_more_tips_to_think_about "1) Your brain alone needs 130 grams of carbohydrates a day, without that, you can expect headaches and other performance detriments." Uh, total horsecrap. I consume under 20 grams of carbs a day total - yes, I painstakingly…
