Looking for friends
Like many other people on this site, I had some success before falling off the wagon in a huge way for a long time, but I am back to make this happen. I'm looking for friends who stay active here and post a lot and motivate and cheer others on. If you are the type to look at everyone's diary, I'm cool with suggestions on…

Gotta get my mojo back
I joined MFP in the start of 2014 and managed to lose 30 pounds over the course of two years. It was slow, but I wasn't being super strict and I definitely wasn't complaining. I then started a job-stress slide that really accelerated this year. At this point, I have gained back 15 pounds with spikes closer to 20. No good.…

Building Discipline
What are some of the things you do, or have done, to build discipline and habits in your food and fitness life? How do you deal with setbacks?

How do you track these calories?
If you make a stock and intend to discard the stuff going into the stock, do you count the calories in the ingredients or no?

Anxiety/Obsessiveness with Tracking
After seeing a couple of posts on my feed about tracking steadily vs giving into cravings or not tracking all, I'm thinking about my own path. I've lost 24 pounds over the past two years, but 20 of those pounds dropped in the first six months and it's been a slow crawl ever since. I've pulled myself out of the rut of…

What does your workout week look like?
Just curious to see how others work a mix of weights and cardio in to their week. I'm looking to commit to a workout routine that incorporates both weightlifting days and short (2-3 mile) run days.

Counting Calories Doesn't Work
Woke up to this gem on Facebook and thought some of you might enjoy reading it: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/18/opinion/sunday/always-hungry-heres-why.html Apparently we're all doing it wrong...

How much protein can the body use?
I read somewhere around the internet once or twice that if your body only absorbs/uses a certain amount of protein per meal. So, for example, 30g might be your max so if you eat 50g, that extra 20g is a waste of your time. Is this fact or fiction?

Ever just need a break?
I started here in February. Bought a food scale and started measuring and counting as accurately as possible when I cook. I guesstimate when I dine out and have at least one day a week that I eat to maintenance or don't log. I'm down 10 pounds from the start and am looking to lose about 20-25 more. I'm thrilled with my…

Ladies - I need a belt!
Not sure if this is the right category to post this under... I need to buy a belt for my growing pants, but I hate that belts are bulky and bulge under fitted shirts. I bought a hip hugger belt by Hollywood Secrets (http://www.amazon.com/Hollywood-Fashion-Secrets-HH-000751-Hugger/dp/B0038QYS2Y), but it only works for some…

Just don't call me a foodie
I have a bit of an obsession with food. I have a food processor (and a spiralizer, and a copper based stainless steel saute pan that is like a fourth child after my three cats) and know how to use it. I love a good chef's tasting. I talk about food while I'm eating food. I'm That Girl who posts pictures of her food on…

Just started exercising, and boy am I hungry.
I have been tracking my calories on MFP for two months now. I opted to do TDEE and accounted for the fact that I was going to get back to exercising some day soon. Took that number and subtracted 500 and came up with 1800. I have a day, maybe two, that I go a bit over my goal. Partially for sanity and partially because I…
