Glad you bumped your own thread. Somehow missed this the first time round but today it has really spoken to me and helped put things into perspective. Thanks!

I saw OP a few days ago and like others, I did not realise it was a new weight loss program. Claiming to be the best and according to their website, offering amazing new weight loss supplements. I counted 6 different products to buy along side the recommended use of all 6 daily. Yet no prices were given unless you put a…

Was trying to help OP, by explaining how mfp helped me. I now how hard it can be and was trying to help. The only reason I listed how much I lost was not to brag but show where I had started. Yet You state on this thread, how impossible it has been for you to lose weight. (Therefore understanding op better than me). Yet on…

I do not wish to derail this thread but would like to leave a response in reply to those who feel like I was attacking OP. When nothing could be further from the truth. I am responding to the direct posts. Just wish to leave an explanation to those who are following this thread. Before finding mfp I had been obese,…

Old post, but one I've not seen before, glad it was bumped as it's really helped me today.

I need to track & limit my fat intake for health reasons (heart condition). I have been doing this successfully and usually spread my fat intake throughout the day. But I have found that a larger than average intake of fat in one go/large high fat meal (as your discribing). Then I get terrible stomach cramps and diarrhoea,…

I am currently maintaining my weight for a while (taking a diet break), before deciding whether to lose a few more pounds. I'm female, 5ft 5" and 10st 7lb; making my current bmi 24.4 (top end of healthy). But at my highest weight, when I joined mfp, for the same bmi, I would have needed to be 6ft 6" (13" taller). When my…

In a way I used to have the opposite problem (before finding mfp). I would see recommended "diet" or "weight loss programmes" with meal plans to follow, to "lose weight". But they always contained some meals I didn't like or foods I couldn't eat. But finding mfp has simplified things. I now have a calorie target to aim for…

As others have said, I also bank calories. Instead of "saving points", as you mentioned at WW. I look at my calorie target for the week, eg; on 1,570 calories per day x 7 days = 10,990 calories for the week. Then I can vary my calorie intake, on different days, as & when needed. As long as I hit my allowance for the week,…

The worst diet advice I was given, although it wasn't a company advertising, was here by a member on MFP. Advice was: To do "Keto" as this was the fastest and healthiest way to lose weight quickly. By following Keto I didn't need to eat above 700 to 800 calories a day, as I would feel full on this amount. That it was easy…

Lemon muffin for me! Discovered I love Lemon cake by accident, but I'm glad I did!

Old thread, as you know. But thought you might like to know that OP hasn't been on mfp since July 2015.

WHY? It seems a drastic cut and therefore shock to your system. Is this the calorie target mfp has set?
-
I've never heard of adding sugar to a cucumber salad either. I enjoy cucumber salad on a regular basis and have never added sugar or any sugar substitute.

Its not unhealthy AS you are hitting your mfp goal, by the end of the week. Your weight loss is on target and your listening to your body. Calorie cycling in this way is allowing you the flexibility to enjoy your date night, while still losing weight in a healthy manner. Its also setting up new habits, that will help you…

I lost my last 15lb to 20lb this way, as a gradual transition from weight loss at 0.5lb a week to maintenance. Currently continuing at this target for 2 months, so fat, to estimate if I'm now at maintenance. This gradual transition meant a slower weight loss but I feel it was well it for me. As I built new daily habits and…

Never, as I don't like them

I was surprised with the amount of calories in Brussel sprouts! From my old weight watcher days I knew peas or sweet corn had more calories but in their old points system all other vegetables were free. Then discovering mfp and logging/counting all my calories I was amazed that Brussel sprouts were even higher in calories.

As you mentioned consistency is key, especially when it's the last few pounds as the deficit becomes smaller. Plus as your already close to your target weight, a 0.5lb a week loss is recommended and you hit that, with 2lbs in 4 weeks, so right on a healthy target! Well done. But I would just like to add that weight loss…

If taking on one more thing, would make the rest collapse (adding one more card, makes the house of cards collapse). That you have honestly realised that this will probably be the case. Then I feel you should definitely wait. It's about balancing a healthy lifestyle (all round) and not just focuse on weight loss. I have…

Over the past couple of years, I've had something similar but learnt to ignore them. I've just stuck with what was working for me, because I knew it was working and it was bettering my health all round. If anything these random comments know make me smile to myself. Although if pressed I admit that I will "stick with what…

Definitely, but does differ from person to person.

I agree, its definitely nothing to worry about! Remember: Your aiming to be as close to target as possible. Completing your week, a few calories either side of said target is great! Your target of 1,500 calories per day is your target, what you should be aiming for. You dont need to stay under it, but to be as close as…

As you have realised, it's all these "little things" that add up. That's why it's important (for accuracy) to measure/weigh absolutely everything. These so called "hidden calories" will effect your weight. So this is an important question, not so easy to give an accurate answer. As cam said; the oil that is left in the pan…

Would just like to add, that I found persistence key. Have now managed to lose just over 50lb, but the closer I got to goal, the slower my weight loss. Just mentioning it here because I thought my weight loss had stalled. (Was on 1,570 calories per day, for 0.5lb a week loss). No weight loss was showing on my scales. But…

I had lost & regained several times in the past, sometimes before reaching "goal" or at some point after acheiving my ideal weight. There are 2 major changes for me this time round, which I feel has made all the difference. I've lost 50lb, through diet alone and successfully maintaining a healthy weight. 1) No more "diets"…
-
I agree with this, and something that I did while losing weight. Although it took longer, it was successful as I stayed the course. It also helped the transition into maintenance, as it had become a regular intake and one I could live with.

You have been diagnosed with MS, even though it is in remission. You have also worked hard at regaining your current level of fitness. At this point I would recommend focusing on your health, not just weight loss. Focus on a healthy well balance diet, with adequate "fuel" to maintain your health. You state that your…

@tennisdude2004 Quote It’s certainly easier than weighing food, calorie counting and still be hungry at the end of the day with no calories left - In my experience (although I just do LCHF), but the principles the same! [/quote] But surely to follow a keto diet for weight loss, you would still need to weigh your food and…

Not just disappointing but I've found my taste buds have changed. There was a lovely lemon cheesecake I used to really enjoy, but due to higher calories I hadn't worked it into my calorie allowance. Then at Christmas, I thought that this would be an ideal time to indulge. To have something I really love but can't have…
