There are different brands of stevia and they taste different. I use the liquid one from Trader Joe's. I've also heard good things about the Sweet Leaf liquid stevia. Maybe try that? -T.

I got a tiny amount of prosciutto from Whole Foods. Sadly, it was not even close to your amazing deal...closer to like $20/lb. I didn't know what to do with it, either, and I ended up pitching it after a few days. I tried just eating a slice and was not impressed. Guess it's a good thing the cheaper bacon works for me in…

@Karlottap : Wow, my hysterectomy was for endometriosis, too. That stuff is like kudzu! :s -T.

Heh. I was having Greek yogurt (full fat, with extra fat, half a serving to help keep the carbs down) with my breakfast. When I started working out and having a high absorbing protein powder afterwards, I found I was having too MUCH protein! So, ah... My daily goal is 65g of protein for a 1300 calorie diet and I'm 5'4"…

@GrannyMayOz : It's a scene from Indiana Jones with Harrison Ford staring down a cobra. In the movie, he says, "Snakes...Why did it have to be snakes?" He also hates snakes. -_- Very busy group. Bad news: I upped my magnesium last night to 2 teaspoons and drank plenty of water. I was still awakened at 4 AM..at 6 AM...at 7…

I seem to have had good luck with Natural Calm and sleepytime chamomile teas recently. I had to up my Natural Calm to 1.5 teaspoons, and will probably try 2 tonight, though, because I still get some foot cramping in the morning right before I'm supposed to get up. At least I'm not tossing around all night like I was before…

@Karlottap : I had a hysterectomy, but still have my ovaries. Sometimes they work and still kick off the hormones. They sort of...throw off my scale every month or so, too. @pagangds : I have mine set at 1300 for calories. I am very tight and on a keto diet, so my numbers may be very different. I have 75% fat, 20% protein,…

I was honestly surprised how close the cauliflower was to mashed potatoes. I was a serious potato-holic, too. I think the immersion blender was the key. I was still dairy free the first time I made it, and it was even awesome then. ^_^ -T.

I picked up some Lipix InstantEdge instant coffee with cocoa and MCT oil already mixed in. Just add hot water and whatever extra fats you want (I use heavy cream). I actually bought the stuff after doing some research and read something about how on keto I should be having more coconut / MCT oil, but I really didn't want…

I've been eating my flax seeds whole, but I try to "grind them up" with my teeth when I eat them. >_> I got the idea to mix them with cinnamon from the TV show "Psych", of all things. -T.

@GrannyMayOz Snakes...why did it have to be snakes? I think I'd have to move, too, if the place I lived was snaky. -T.

Mmm...cauliflower. Here's one of my spicy treats: Broccoli Mayonnaise Sriracha rooster sauce Dash of toasted sesame oil BAM! Spicy broccoli. :) Method: Cook broccoli. Or not. Your choice. Mix a tablespoon or two of mayo with a 5g serving (1 teaspoon) of sriracha. Add a dash of sesame oil and mix well. Dump on broccoli and…

I ended today with only about 1000 calories (my daily goal / limit is 1300). So... Just added some peach sleepytime tea + 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream, and a serving of golden flax seeds with cinnamon. I'm looking pretty good now, and will have a wonderful snack while I wind down for the evening. :) -T.

When I feel like that, I take low carb protein powder and mix it with unsweetened almond-coconut milk + however much oil I need. I've used heavy cream, macadamia nut oil, flax oil, and walnut oil at various points. With the chocolate protein powder, it ends up tasting like a delicious chocolate shake. It's like drinking a…

Hey hey @minties82 , don't feel silly for posting! Okay, so here is the one tip my fiance taught me about squatting that I never read anywhere: LOOK UP while you are squatting! Apart from that, here is how I learned to squat: 1) Remember never to let your knees go over your toes. Pretend there is a board sticking up on…

I was a seafood vegetarian for 26 years, and HIGHLY lactose intolerant for > 10 years. My mom used to joke that I was a "Pesky-tarian". hah! Now I am eating bacon, pork, chicken, and turkey...and I can have dairy again without issue. Suggestions for less eggy eggs: Try the "I Breathe I'm Hungry" pancakes. They are very…

I am currently taking: 1) Multivitamin 2) Omega 3 pills 3) St. John's Wort (mood stabilizer) 4) Glucosamine (joint support) 5) Advil... :( These I take in the morning. At night, I take: 1) Biotin (for shiny hair?) 2) Magnesium citrate in powdered "just add water" form, "Natural Calm". That's to help quiet my leg and foot…

My basic shopping list: Bacon Eggs Heavy Cream Cheese Butter (Kerrygold!) Coffee Tea Pork (whatever's on sale) Chicken (whatever's on sale) Sausage (NOT garbage cuts - look for the ones made at the butcher's with choice cuts of pork shoulder / butt and no added sugar or other fillers) Frozen Broccoli Frozen Spinach…

Wow. This is good reading. I was ALSO noticing that my fat was, uh...softer?? It was a very strange sensation. Soft, light, fluffy fat. HAH! Um, I started lifting and I've never lifted before. My fiance lifts, though, and gave me a very nice light routine that I do here at work. It is worth noting that he lifts and has…

Too bad they can't seem to understand that "eating normally" is what got our bodies into such rough shape to begin with - us and SO Many others. Besides...what is normal? Having tons of high fructose corn syrup? Eating out every day? Fast food? Pizza? Home cooked meat and potatoes type meals? Eating the "Mediterranean…

Hahaha wow. Great list. Definitely guilty of many of those. Fiance is right there with you on the eggs, @FIT_Goat. You might be a keto dieter if... You go to a coffee shop and ask for room for heavy whipping cream NO NOT HALF AND HALF, and a spoon to measure it. Them: "Any sweetener?" Me: "No thanks. I'm on a diet. Please…

Hey there! I don't "add friends" on MFP (sorry)...but I did find a 2 day fat fast very helpful for getting back on track after I was sick and thrown out of ketosis. This site helped: http://www.ruled.me/using-fat-fasting-technique/ One of the favourite things that I made on the diet was cream cheese frosting. I used…

You guys rock. I even have an explanation now why there are all these large cheap chicken breasts on sale in the stores! And more importantly... I have half of one of those breasts digesting in my belly as we speak, and the other half in the fridge waiting for dinner tomorrow. B) -T.

I have less protein in my meals to balance out the extra high quality protein I deliver to my system after my workout in the form of protein powder. In other words: Extra protein shake means I have to cut protein out of my other meals to balance out total protein for the day. -T.
-
heh I have protein powder as well, and I still take it. I use a half scoop. On workout days, I have less protein in my meals. Because my numbers are so low, I have to basically reduce my protein from 3 oz per meal to 2 oz per meal on those days. -T.
-
Rolling pin! Now THAT I have! Never used. Stopped baking right when I bought it and went keto. You guys are full of great ideas! Thanks! Ohh man, I just realized I ate a big fat 3 oz of pork chop fried in ghee and coated in parmesan. That's coursing through my body now and it's telling me THANK YOU. Tons of energy. Sorry…

Ooh yeah. I make my own so I can choose my sweetener. And then I add HEAVY CREAM on top of it! Mmm... -T.

No rubber mallet, bricks, or ice cream scoops. Can I just sit my fat butt on it repeatedly? :p -T.
