I have never tried this but how about nutritional yeast? It's delicious on plenty of other things!

Sometimes your stomach doesn't growl from hunger but because it's digesting.

It's all about personal preference. That said I did use an ideal weight calculator online to pick my initial number. Then I adjust as I go.

Are you seeing a pattern in your macros on the days you feel more satiated? (I.e., are they higher protein or higher carb?) You may want to plan your meals in advance, make sure you're eating at a frequency so you don't have time to feel hungry between meals, and full of foods that satiate you. I know everyone talks about…

^^ This. Just because grandma is old doesn't mean we have to let her be a b#%! What she did was awful. Maybe that's her means of "gently" encouraging you to lose weight but it's never too late for her to learn it's inappropriate. If it happens again I hope you can tell her "Do not touch me like that. When you make a…

Until I hit goal I try to get by on as few pieces as possible. Consider looking at minimalist (and capsule) wardrobe blogs - they've got good ideas for getting by with a bare minimum of items. Also check Pinterest for styling ideas. You can reinvigorate a wardrobe by wearing pieces differently. Belting, tucking, etc.…

Now I'm curious too - for everyone who swears by VS, Target, Old Navy, etc., how long does a pair of pants last? I like Lulu because I may pay a small fortune but a pair of their pants lasts me 4 years with once-a-week wear. (At which point it's still wearable but there's sometimes some pilling I don't like.) Sports bras…

I have stretch marks all over my hips and on my breasts from growing fast as a kid. I was never overweight. Stretch marks are largely due to genetics. I dislike the "tiger stripes" saying because it implies you should be proud of something you had no control over. (And indirectly that if you don't have a good reason like…

I'm glad to hear about the therapist and yes, bring up the fat phobia. It sounds like it's impacting your health in addition to your relationship. It's fine to have your preferences and not be attracted to very heavy people (or very skinny people, etc.) but your tendency to compensate by losing weight yourself sounds…

Agreed with PP. It sounds like you're mostly doing things right by trying to get him to be active. You're aware that you're not doing the right thing by making negative comments. You can't change someone. You can accept him or leave him. You say you love him and feel you've got a fat phobia - can you reconcile that him…

In situations like this I find planning exactly what I'm going to order helps tremendously once I'm in the moment. Plan to eat to maintenance and pick your absolute favorite food items and drinks. Then figure out if you're going to order them with substitutions or commit to only eating a small portion. Plan on ordering the…

I find the confusion odd too. Here's another example - I made a pumpkin Alfredo sauce the other day. 75g of pasta and 250g of sauce is 415 calories. PP's 400 calorie pasta bake is perfectly reasonable with 75g of pasta.

This is probably an "every body is different" situation. When I eat a high protein meal I'm hungry an hour or two later. If I eat the same calories in mostly pasta/carbs I am satiated until the next meal.

Colloidal silver? Like the cause of argyria? That side effect would completely freak me out. You are a brave one.

I noticed this when I went back to grad school in my mid 20s. Although I moved to a new region I think the change in my friend circle was the influential factor. In my old town I had been the small one in my friend group. (High BMI was 24.9, so not quite overweight but borderline.) When I started grad school and was…

Yes! I tend to twist them gently to separate and I usually don't have an issue. If it's being stubborn I take from the other end.

I'll also add to PP that some people fidget and move around a lot more than you may notice which can burn a few hundred extra calories a day. This doesn't mean they have a mysterious gift, just that they're burning more calories (higher CO in CICO). Also, as PP noted, men naturally burn more calories. I just plugged my…

36! Everyone is welcome to add me.

I second this advice. Since I usually toast my sliced bread anyway I'll immediately put the loaf into the freezer and just pop a piece into the toaster as needed.

How do you make anything fit in your plan? I'm perplexed by this question. Some people pre-log their entire day in advance. Other people (like me) log a particular meal right before they eat it. I'm sure there are other strategies. So make bread fit into your plan the same way you make strawberries or bacon fit into your…

I dislike the term cheat day because it implies there are "bad" or forbidden foods. During my TOM I may eat to maintenance a few days. That's the closest I get to a cheat day.

In barre they'll have props, such as a rectangular pad, that you can put under your knees. Even if they didn't pull it out for the exercise you can get it before class starts and use it when you need to. Also, ask for modifications or alternate exercises. A knowledgable instructor will be able to explain them if you ask…

I am absolutely not avoiding bread. I love bread. I'm making some rye flatbread right now. I'm still losing weight.

^^ This. Don't keep anything that doesn't fit. Donate or consign it.

I have Escali scales. One bathroom scale and one food scale. Nothing fancy but very reliable digital scales.

I would never juice as my sole source of nutrients. I like chewing my food. Drinking veg juice makes me hangry because I'm never able to consume enough in a sitting (without also getting a stomachache) to satisfy my hunger. Plus juicing (if you do it at home) seems to take massive amounts of produce, prep, and cleaning.…

I guess it depends on what you mean by "healthy". What makes a food healthy in your mind and what doesn't? Check recipe blogs and experiment with what you order when you go out to eat. Food should not be boring or unappetizing. If it is then you're doing it wrong.

My go-to is oats. I use rolled oats (not quick oats), put water, the oats, half a diced pear, and a few walnuts in a saucepan on the stove. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cook until thickened (~5 min). Then I add a little brown sugar and cinnamon and plate it. Obviously you can dress up oats however you want, but that combo…

Talk to your doctor. If you're sleeping 8 hours a day and you're always tired then there's something else going on. Did your doctor schedule a follow-up appointment so your iron levels could be retested after supplementing a while? If not then make one. There are so many reasons your sleep quality could be affected or you…
