I was in LA a few years ago, spent a little over two months there. Didn't notice any discrimination based on my looks. I am not, never was, a '10'. I spent 3 month in SF Bay area, didn't notice anything out of the ordinary neither. I liked LA and San Diego much better actually, and traffic wasn't as horrible as described.

I suspect that my mail delivery person suffers from some form ADD. He or she left a bunch of mail addressed to my neighbors all over the building (none of it was mine) sitting in my mailbox for almost four months. Then, there was another badge tied with a big rubberband laying on the floor by the mailboxes - that was mail…
