So, if you want to cut down on sugar, stay away from apples and have a donut instead.

There are several different types of sugar, and your body will indeed know the difference. There are monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides and oligosaccharides. Might be more, can't remember. They definitely all behave differently when metabolized.

There is no point in exercising if you can't rest enough to recover properly. The best exercise routine for you is to sleep whenever you can.

Try ground up oats like "Instant Oats", they work like a charm in shakes.

Are you her doctor, or how do you know that she is healthy? Most weightlifters are anything but healthy, especially in the heavyweights.

Either I don't, or then ballpark it. I use a teaspoon (5 ml/grams) or tablespoon (15-25 ml/grams) as the value, whatever seems more appropriate. It doesn't matter. No one gets fat or fails to lose weight because they were off by 10 grams on the occasional condiment.

I couldn't care less about whether or not she is considered attractive, and quite frankly, neither should she. What she should care about, however, is that she is morbidly obese and at a huge risk of several fatal medical conditions unless she does something about it.

This is the closest guess in this thread, since the unit of measure is kilocalories (kcal) which is 1000 calories. So, 1000000 calories = 1000 kcal, which is probably quite close to what is on that plate.

You should look a bit closer. 60 grams of preserved fruit is not going to have 6 grams of salt in it, so obviously the sodium numbers are completely off.

I just noticed that OP is rather young still, so yes, you can get away with eating more.

A super-skinny teenage guy can probably pack on muscle upwards of a pound per week in the beginning, assuming that he lifts with some reasonable program. Still, two pounds per week sounds a bit much, but hey, you do as you see fit. Just remember that the faster you put on weight, the more fat you'll be packing as well. If…

Unless you are 110 % certain that you have the skills and the strength of mind to actually cut/shoot someone, don't carry knives or guns. You will only end up with an assailant who now has a knife and/or a gun.

Bodyweight training would work as well. Also, try not to teach your kids to only sleep when it's dead quiet. You'll regret that later...

I just looked up some dumbbell sets, and Walmart has a 5-50 lbs set, which is pretty much the minimum that you'd need for a full body workout. That one costs close to $1000, and it won't be very long until 2 x 50 lbs will be too light for squats and deadlifts. I would really just get a pullup bar, a set of rings and a good…

I have had my weight swing 5 lbs back and forth in one day. Don't sweat it, there are so many factors that influence you weight at one specific point in time. As long as you are eating enough (so that you are not starving yourself) you're good.

It is perfectly OK to do both cardio and weights on the same day. You can do one in the morning and the other in the evening or everything all at once. Whatever you want to.
-
Don't set goals that are next impossible to reach, you are only setting yourself up for disappointment. You cannot directly influence your weight, so don't set any strict goals for something that you can't really control. Sure, you can eat a deficit of approx 3500 kcal, but that does not automatically make you exactly 1…

You'll probably see them vanish just by eating at maintenance or just a smidge over and lifting heavy. Keep on running if you want to, but remember to eat enough to compensate for it. I vote on stronglifts as well, it's a great beginner program.

Stronglifts is a perfect way to start: http://stronglifts.com

1. 10 kg, not lbs. 2. That shouldn't bother you (OP), as you have barely any fat in your body at the moment. Rippetoe has crafted Starting Strength just for people like you. He recommends drinking a gallon of whole milk per day in addition to your other food in order to put on the calories. Now, if your stomach can handle…

500 kcal surplus a day = 1 lbs weight gained per week. Now, I don't now what gear OP is on, but I wager that even the best medicines won't save him from the fact that most of that weight is going to be fat. 1-2 lbs a month would perhaps be doable, at least the first year or two.

Very lightly.

I'd like to know this, too, so that I can avoid getting attacked by someones dog just because I happen to run in a similar direction.

Fairy dust or ground unicorn horn will do the trick.

Step 1: get proper shoes Step 2: learn proper running technique Step 1 can be accomplished at a good store, just like suggested above. For step 2, either a coach or Youtube will help you there.

Can you describe the pain? Is it more like a constant dull ache or soreness or something sharp and really painful that hits in certain positions or is in any other way intermittent? The first type I wouldn't worry about, it is probably just the noobiness. You could try a pair of neoprene knee-warmers, I find that they help…

I use wrestling shoes. They work well and can be had for pretty cheap.
