Yeah don't do any fad diets, you need to make a lifestyle change that you know you can maintain! It may take a lot longer to lose the weight but it will be a lot easier to keep it off. You don't want to restrict yourself too much cause that never works in the long run. Portion size is huge and try to make healthy choices…

You got this!! You definitely sound ready to make the change! The first couple weeks are the hardest but then you start to feel better and start to slowly see results and it really helps for motivation. MFP has really helped so you have come to the right place!

Yeah you don't want to restrict yourself too much and follow a diet that would be impossible to maintain in the long run. I always think of it as a lifestyle change as opposed to a diet. Something that could be maintained easier and improves health.

Very sorry to hear about your mom. Something that may help is getting rid of most of the junk food and unhealthy stuff from the house so when the mood to eat strikes, there's really only healthier options to choose from. It sucks at the time when you really crave junk food but is good in the end.

Yeah I've been there. What I do now is give myself a bit more leeway on weekends so I don't feel as bad if I eat something that isn't quite so healthy. It's easier for me to stay on track during the week if I know that I can have a couple beers and that slice of pizza once Saturday rolls around.

Yes it is probably just water weight so don't worry about it! Weight can fluctuate every day, even throughout the day. Try and focus on how you feel instead of the numbers! You are doing awesome, keep going! :)

Hey! I'm 25 ( in a couple days) and over the years have become more unhealthy in terms of diet and exercise and want to get back on track! Im just sort of starting out and have so far lost about 5 pounds. I would like to lose around 30. Would love to be able to keep motivated and continue my new healthy lifestyle!
