I just totally learned something new! Here I'd been looking for a heart rate monitor to help more accurately figure out calorie burn, but most of what I do is not steady state. Thanks to you, and the others, who taught me a new fact! :)

Well, my car seats 5, so they can all ride and we'll stop at the hospital first.

Beating heart failure and PPCM. Losing the first 100lbs. Learning how to exercise. Lifting weights. Being a great parent with kids who listen (usually). Kicking *kitten* at my work. Learning to not be a door mat.

I was just about to recommend some potassium, and some magnesium. GMTA!

I hate cardio but also need to lose weight while I'm building muscle, so I do it. I hate it the least when I do it all in Tabata rounds. I use mostly the elliptical in Tabata but I'll mix it up with (modified) jumping jacks (because I don't jump, or run), lightweight kettlebell swings, step ups, or if I really feel like…

Some churches have modest gyms that they allow nonmembers to use. Usually you just have to register and pay for the keycard/fob. Often no charge, they just ask you to donate as you are able.

Now I'm hungry. Thanks! LOL!

Favorite smells...my husband, baking bread, country hay, homegrown roses in the garden, that magnolia room spray sold at Magnolia Gardens in Charleston, bacon and onions being cooked together, barbecue. Worst thing I ever smelled...one night, many years ago, I was driving to a friend's house in the next state. The…

If you feel it needs more pizzazz, add a small drizzle of good olive oil, along with your salt and pepper. Garlic is good too. Personally I find lemon juice sends my avocado flavor in the wrong direction, but it's probably just me. Use a crisply toasted bread with a strong flavor profile, like sourdough or a whole wheat…

When I was a kid I hated lima beans with all my soul. As an adult, I love them. Conversely, as a kid I really liked broccoli. Now, not so much.

The very first spot is under my eyes. Then my midsection.

I like my feistiness, attention to detail, and ability to make really amazing soup. Not necessarily in that order, hahaha!

Eat it if you like it and it makes your day better. Don't if it doesn't. That's my motto.

Shows like the Biggest Loser piss me off to no end, because these people are rough-housed so badly in such a short period of time, it just is too much for me. However, shows like My 600lb Life, I find helpful because most of these folks are trying to relearn how to live in a sustainable and supportive way.

Big, meaty, strong legs. Hairy legs, not those smooth (or shaved) ones. Non-brown eyes. A super cute grin. And yes, I will admit it, it's extra exciting if the pants are nicely filled out, and I don't mean in the back. ;-)

I have a similar problem. I never take my earbuds out (and have music cranked). I don't make eye contact, don't look happy, don't look interested in anything other than people not using equipment I need as their doorstop. But, I have people literally wave me down until I put down whatever heavy thing it is I'm holding, and…

Usually, yes. But it can be far more complicated to reverse that. For example, how do you think *I* became obese to begin with? Eating more calories than I burned, obviously...but why? Why was my intake higher than my output? Anyone? If you don't address the cause, then you aren't going to permanently resolve the problem.…

Oh goodness, too many to count. Many listed by estherdragon above. So many folks with excess weight have great bloodwork and no current health issues, which is wonderful. I was in that category in my 20s too. Then, I was "blessed" with Postpartum Cardiomyopathy with Congestive Heart Failure at the age of 28. The docs say…

I've had the same problem. I made a list of foods that I really love but that also have good nutritional profiles, loaded up on a supply of them, and when I would go to self-soothe with food, I'd do my darnedest to reach for the healthier options. Even if I wound up also reaching for the not-healthy food, I'd wind up…

Those Singapore noodles sound fantastic! Thanks for the recipe link!

Same! At first I was like "well now, this should be different." Hahahaha!

I weigh daily, but I've been doing this a long time and enjoy the science of how different things make my weight go up or down. The daily fluctuations don't bother me, but seeing my weight often helps me stay more mindful than waiting until my pants get tighter.
