  • I have 4 half marathons starting the 1st weekend in March that are ~ a month apart, so my goal is to stay injury free. I am hopeful to PR in at least 1 of them and would ultimately like to get a sub-1:50 finish... current PR is 1:53:39. I don't recall if I have said here before, but I spent most of my youth in MN playing…

  • @Elise4270 had some good questions and advice. I will add that foam rolling can be a great benefit or grab a tennis ball to pinpoint where that pain is at to really massage that. Flossing can also be good, but I feel like you really need to know what you're doing with that. For my hips, I also like doing the pigeon yoga…
  • February Weekly Miles GOAL: 130 miles 02/02 - 02/09 - 02/16 - 02/23 - 02/28 - TOTAL: 000.00 miles I barely squeaked in my goal last month... just over 142 miles for a goal of 140. • Sorry I missed these earlier in the month... let me know if you need me to assist any further with these. I see that @Elise4270 that you are the only one on the 2019 spreadsheet so far.

  • I'm going to go with a goal of 100-125 miles this month... hit 90 last month with almost a week of no running (recovering from a small foot procedure on both feet) and we have an extra weekend in Dec, so I think I will be towards to high end of that range.
  • Congrats! Exciting time for you... good luck with the training!
  • I'll 2nd this... I took @7lenny7 advice last year and are perfect for me. I usually wear my light gloves underneath that have tech thingys that allow me to still navigate my phone if needed, but usually it stays tucked in my running belt!
  • Great plan. I did that one for my half last year. Good to add in a couple extra weeks as well.
  • @polskagirl01 @_nikkiwolf_ ... I followed the Miles for Dennis on Strava but I think I need a follow back to tag it.
  • This was Oct 14-15, correct? I ran 8 mi on Sat 13th @ 7a CT but developed some hip/glute pain and with a race coming up on the 20th, I gave it some extra rest.
  • @biketheworld -- I thought you disappeared! Haha! Congrats on a couple of great races and glad your PF didn't come into play and your stayed injury free on the tricky grass course!
  • Geez, 2 days in and already 9 pages to go through... maybe tonight... had planned on last night, but if any of you saw the Chief's game last night, it was kind of suspenseful!! Well, since the September thread is a ghost-town, here is how I finished out September...September Weekly Miles GOAL: 150 miles 09/01 - 09.24 09/08…
  • ...and half the time the Woo button is used, it is used incorrectly as in "Wahoo, great job!", which is totally not its intent of "I'm not sure I believe you...". Also miss the Awesome button as the Like button just doesn't cut it sometimes.
  • Besides the week crawling by, my runs have been good. Last weekend we had a cool front move in that cooled things down into the low 50s F for my morning runs. I continued to just wear shorts and T but realized I needed to locate my cold running gear. I came across my bottoms without a problem but could not remember where I…
  • I've been wishing it was Wednesday all day... or Thursday, or Friday... work has been so crazy it feels like I've done a weeks worth already!! Good luck @RunRachelleRun -- prayers for the procedure and a quick recovery for you!
  • @amymoreorless -- hope the landlord gets your plumbing working soon! I can't imagine how "invigorating" that cold gallon jug shower must have felt! @kgirlhart -- congrats on your 2 and 3 yr anniversaries! Great accomplishment! Sounds like we took the same path to running... I started after losing the initial 50 lbs and…
  • I agree with @cee134 -- I have a Garmin watch and love it. Some of their watches can be as much or more than Apple, but they also have some lower end ones that still have the ability to track heart rate, GPS, etc., and their Garmin Connect interface is phenomenal!
  • I'm with April... I've used both and like them about the same. I do feel like the Feetures conform to the foot better for a tighter fit, but I've not had either of them slide down. I've mainly stuck to the no-cushion or light-cushion. They mainly run about $12-15 a pair but you can usually find a good deal (buy 3 get 1…
  • I remember doing the same thing when I was out for about 4+ weeks with a grade 2 calf strain... it was good medicine and it was good mentally to be preparing for running again while I was side lined.
  • I just signed up for a 30 min slot on Sun 10/14. This is the weekend prior to my race, so want to stick somewhat close to the plan and not overdo it. I will see if I'm also able to the the virtual group runs at the start/finish, but not 100%. His death really hit me hard since we're close to the same age and he was always…
  • @biketheworld -- yes, take care of that heel!! @shanaber -- see below. From my 2017 Oz HM From my 2018 Oz Full @PastorVincent - Congrats on your PR, excellent time!
  • I have used both SoundPeats and Earteana, but neither have an over the ear, although the SoundPeats have optional attachments for over the ear. Both of them are less than $50. The Earteana ear buds are independent buds and can be used one at a time if you wish and I've not had issues with them falling out or having…
