Welcome! I've had back issues in the past - fortunately no longer. Broke my collarbone badly about 10 months ago and am just now getting back to the gym - although not as serious as back surgery, I know the depression associated with inactivity and it's pretty common after any surgery. I like my fitbit for the motivation to move more, but not so much for measuring distance or calories. I have to do additional comparisons, but I'm pretty sure it underestimates distance and overestimates calorie burn, at least during a purposeful (for exercise) walk. Islandic yogurt, hummus, frozen fish - the mahi mahi, tilapia, and hake are all scrumptious. Squash, Brussel sprouts, fresh or frozen chicken breast, ground turkey, all sorts of salad stuff, protein bars.... That's my typical shopping list. Have fun!!
