The first part is there for a reason. You don't get to pick and choose what's relevant. I'm not looking for a debate where there's a clear answer and understanding. Running is primarily differentiated from walking by speed.
-
OED: Move at a speed faster than a walk, never having both or all the feet on the ground at the same time.
-
The difference between running and walking IS speed.

No.

That gets us into the UK's version of "salad", I suppose. Let's talk about the ambiguity of the word "pudding" across the pond...

Let's make the ridiculousness of BMI clear, since you've set up this softball: If his stats were the norm, what would be your opinion of the current BMI scale?
-
No, it's not. It's a very arbitrary figure that ignores the fact that those right across the "overweight" threshold actually have LOWER all-causes mortality rates than those in the "healthy" range. People like to treat BMI as some ethereal, objective standard when it is, in fact, completely contrived. It wasn't even…

That doesn't change the fact that it is lazy, from a linguistic perspective. I know that is the intent as well, but it doesn't make the structuring of it correct. Saying "Netflix documentaries" assigns ownership/responsibility to Netflix at a level past content delivery.
-
This. You gave a textbook example of the relativity of intensity. Immediately after saying it didn't exist...
-
Is there a dare involved?
-
It wasn't targeted solely at you. It's a common thing.
-
The "in" doesn't modify in that way at all. "in" is the location of the information, which is followed by the source of said information. It would work as "documentaries in/on Netflix," but not as "in Netflix documentaries."
-
Now there's one that's like nails on a chalkboard for me. Is this just lazy language, or do people think that the documentaries they see on Netflix are original content (the vast majority are not)? It would be like referring to movies as AMC movies or television shows as Comcast shows.

You can eat clean without eating boring.
-
"Overweight BMI" != fat/unhealthy. "Healthy BMI" != healthy.
-
Just a note. Being an advocate of confirmation bias is not a good thing.

This is so incredibly relative to the individual, however. My maintenance is north of 3000kcal, but I'm a big guy. I like to stay around 215-225, and I'm active. Even if I'm sitting around gathering dust, my daily energy needs and eating might seem like "eating loads", when it's really just me eating what I'm supposed to…
-
Didn't mean to piggyback there... Just saw that you posted pretty much the same thing I did.
-
This is what I was going to say. We must have differing definitions of "active". Particularly saying that she knows very active women who show no real muscle, but are thin. They aren't interested in fitness and health (and certainly not strength); they're interested in being skinny.

Maybe you should get out more.

Shocking that an Atkins app would focus on carb counts. I wonder what that's all about...

Mfp has my goal at almost 2200 to lose 1.5/week. Was likely even higher when I was heavier.
-
Shhhh... Don't disturb the mfp echo chamber.

CarlaEnsink, if you have qualms about a study, I'd be happy to look up the exact paper you're having problems with. The fact that you don't have access doesn't invalidate the medium. Though on the flip side, just because something is in a journal doesn't mean it's infallible. That industry has had issues for quite some…

The only utility those documentaries have, if you're not willing to thoroughly research every claim, is that they can work as a catalyst to get you to think about your food choices. Rather than eliminate food categories that don't cause you any harm, you should be more mindful about what you eat (content and amount) and…

It says go premium to lose more because those that are willing to pay for premium are also more likely (on average) to commit to the changes necessary to lose. I pay for premium for the reporting and customization features. As others have said, I focus on macros, and the free version is pretty weak in that area.

I use Swiss Chard regularly with eggs. I'll saute some zucchini, mushrooms, maybe onions, and throw the chard in at the end with some pico de gallo. I put all that in a bowl and then cook the eggs separately most of the time.
