Awwww! I love German Shepherds - I had a beautiful girl many years back and she was the sweetest thing :)

Sinderstorm, I already know you're a strong woman to survive a pregnancy with twins. I'm working hard all of those habits you've listed. I really need work to quit getting in the way of my exercise plans. I knew that was going to be a challenge going into this, though. KGF, it is funny how the people who are overweight…

Do you need to have just clear liquids for a number of days prior to surgery or are shakes okay with your physician? Sounds like you're doing beautifully :)

Hi Jill! Wouldn't it be fun if instead we heard, "Well everyone is different - that's the reason you're losing weight quicker than others and your skin is less saggy." :p It's definitely an advantage to be tall, and having a chest helps hide the weight too as it makes things look more 'hour glassy'. I will definitely send…

Thanks KL! Hoping to see a little more interest here

Just WOW!!!!!

Thanks for the added input blairmundy. I finally found a dietitian who is vegan and has worked with gastric surgery patients before. I've also found some good information on which amino acids are in what food sources so I'm feeling better about trying to balance that out. I'm hopeful I can pull in at least a third of the…

with my daughter in my Enell - back when I could do a 5K :(
-
At 42D I've found the Enell to be the best option because it absolutely, positively keeps everything in place. I have mine in black and people have mistaken it for a running top like you might by in the exercise section at Target. I wear just the bra when I run in the summer. I feel okay doing that because it's black and…

Thanks tat2cookie! I'm continuing my hunt for a vegan nutritionist. I'm thinking I'll have to find one who is very good at the vegan part of things and then explain the requirements related to the surgery - hopefully that will come together nicely :)

I'm so happy you were able to get on the transplant list - I hope that works out quickly for you. I'm a nurse and read medical records all day and see a lot of people who've done wonderfully post-transplant. Sounds like it's been a rough road for you, but there sure is light at the end of the tunnel!

I think I've put at least 3 or 4 hours in scouring the internet trying to find a dietitian anywhere in the country who specializes in vegan bariatric surgery. You would think there'd be at least one that would come up! I did find a really good article from a journal written to educate dietitians on how to work with veg…

I saw a great video on youtube last week that I think may be the answer, although I've not tried it yet. Take a small glass (looked like four ounces appx), put the egg in, and fill most of the way leaving some room for air. Holding this over the sink, cover the glass with your hand and shake viogorously for about 10…

That is so incredible - it sounds like you have a great plan for moving into exercise full force :)

I'd tell you to have a happy birthday, but it looks like you already are :) I'm looking to 50 next year and intend to arrive there in much better condition than I arrived at 49!

That is fantastic, and kudos to you for posting part way through your journey. You look wonderful, and I think the photo of your face is especially beautiful!

@vinegar...I haven't had their burgers yet, but I haven't seen them in the store around here. I did buy the 'chicken' that wasn't breaded and I loved it. I signed up for a vegan coach and was linked up with a woman in Colorado - she told me about Gardien and I'm so glad she did. She feels the 'fish' is amazing, but I…

Wow, lots of great ideas here! I am eating a veggie crockpot stew I thru together myself and froze. Most people say "ick" to one or more of the ingredients, but I like most veggies. I'll put the recipe at the end if anyone is interested. I do get Veg Times magazine and so much of it looks awesome. I didn't realize the…

Bumping for the great ideas - thanks!

Thanks for your help - I laughed at "eating fungus" - just imagine what's in the food we eat that's likely much worse than fungus. Best not to think about such things! I hadn't thought about doing sloppy joe's in a vegan way. I love those! Now I'm getting hungry.....

You are my new inspiration - same height here, just restarting. I've been sick since beginning again so I haven't incorporated the exercise, but I'll check out this program. Thank you for sharing!
