Heron, I'm trying to limit my meat intake to see if it's been part of some health issues I've had crop up over the past couple of years. I have yet to drop it completely and not sure if I will. I like fish and shellfish better anyway, so trying to focus on that. I have some friends who eat vegan who have given me some…

Ok everybody, this girl jaunted today!!!! My stupid phone apparently doesn't like the cold so decided not to record the first half of my walk. Easy though, since all I did was turn around and walk back. Little under 3 miles in 7 degrees. I was shielded from most of the wind since the trail is shielded on both sides (for…

Kris, I feel you have done one of the most important things you can do which is eliminating the Diet Coke (I know eliminating Coke from my routine was very challenging, including withdrawal headaches). You've done amazing and decided there are some things that your body needs. I do not have an eating disorder, so I cannot…

Happy Friday morning everybody. Carol, Kim & TJ, it's FB challenge weigh in day and I feel good about it. Fingers crossed. Either way though, it's been a great week. Looks like I won't be jaunting today with wind chills in the -20s. Tomorrow looks like it should be doable. Off to weigh in and submit the results. Happy…

I'll keep blizzard season. I thought I was going to have to go through a hurricane when I was in school at Keesler AFB in 87. Thankfully, I didn't.
-
TJ I don't consider it a season when your house ends up in the Gulf! Nice use of the Demolition Ranch video. :stuck_out_tongue:
-
TJ, no matter how much I complain about this ridiculous weather, I have to have seasons. :) Kim, you do know how to eat well in a hotel. Good for you getting those greens in. I'm not doing so well with making sure to eat greens other than at dinner.

One more update before I stop spamming the thread. :) A little non-scale victory today. Put on a pair of my boots today with struggling and having to 'redistribute' some calf fat. LOL!!!! Good news as I have another pair that I haven't been able to wear lately because I couldn't zip them up. Life is good!

-8 this morning. Ok, I'm done with this. On the bright side, it could make it to 20 today. We'll see. Kim, looks like a good dinner. I understand losing some points. Lost a sleep point yesterday and no exercise points since Sunday. I'm not here to win the challenge. I'm here to win my own challenge. Heron, gorgeous…

Kris, I think you left out the four letter words at least. :) Always have an ear for ya if you need to talk (that goes for anybody). I wish I could help on the Whole 30. What are your struggles with it? I almost feel like a slacker since I'm not out jaunting. I will be hitting the pavement hard this weekend though. Another…

Tear gas? No way!!! I got out of being gassed in the military. I sure don't want to be now.
-
Howie, awesome job. Mark, staying even during the holiday months is a huge win in my book.
-
Thanks Kim. I'm not sure I want my entire life monitored (oh wait, I'm on the internet, it already is - hehehe). I'll stay with my Endomondo since I know what to expect from it. :)
-
Carol, rock on! Awesome of TJ to send you a little pressie. :) Remember though, NO SPLENDA!!! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Somebody is going to have to explain these FitBit thingies to me. Are they GPS enabled is it more like a pedometer, using stride length to estimate distance? I use my phone and the Endomondo app,…

Hehehe Kim on the broccoli stench. So you're one of THOSE people on planes. LOL!!!! Good for you with the walking in the airport. I like your plan - no sitting while waiting for your flight. When I fly, I am usually so early that I have hours to burn. I could get miles in. Something to think about on my next trip (whenever…

Kevin, roasting veggies is a good option. Asparagus, carrots, brussel sprouts (apparently those are very good but I have never tried one yet). Spread out on a baking sheet with foil, sprinkle some olive oil, kosher salt, pepper and any spices you like (thyme, oregano, cayenne, etc). Bake until your perferred doneness. I…

Good morning everybody. I am not liking the sound of the wind outside. Checked the temperature, 10 but -12 wind chill. Brrrrrrrr Enough of that. I did not get 6 hours of sleep (just over 5). Today will be a good day though.
-
Woohoo!!!! I'll have to try the app again now.
-
You know where we are Kris and that we're here for ya!

Today was a good day. No cravings. Not as much water today, as I was busy doing some other things (but still got in 64oz) and closed out the food diary. All FB challenge boxes marked except the exercise one. Woohoo!!!!

Good morning #2 John, I did get some more sleep in which I'm glad I did. Took the day off, so I'm going to do some stuff around the house. Cynthia, thank you for the welcome. I am loving this group. So much motivation. The there are some troublemakers though that I have to keep my eyes on (Kim, Kris, DebSue). Hehehe...

Good morning everybody. Yes it's 2:00am and I'm awake. I slept about 3 hours and have been trying to get more for the past 2 hours. I give up. Found the podcast from last night and started listening to it. What an awesome group!!! Looks like it snowed last night. Maybe a couple inches total. That's it for now. Happy…

I've been having cashews and almonds (raw and unsalted). You're right, just a few at a time. At least they are good fat. Food diary closed in a few minutes and my day will be complete. I made it!

No TJ, I'm not doing the Whole 30. Not sure what happened today. I think I'm going to start taking nuts to work so I can have a snack. I'm proud of myself though for not going to the vending machine and getting a candy bar.
-
TJ, you're quite welcome (you young whipper-snapper you - hehehe). I'm so happy that the challenge is motivating you to get out as well. I'm so waiting for February! Trust me, not much difference in the two months here, just south of the frozen tundra. I posted this on the FB challlenge page and thought I would post it…
-
Kim, I'm just looking forward to hearing what awesomeness you have to say (after the fact since I'll already be asleep by the time it starts - boooo).

Awesome job TJ. You won't be living that statement down, you do realize. Hehehe....
