Good morning everybody. Thursday but unfortunately it's not my last day of work this week. I took Monday off to recover from the weekend's activities. So I'll be working tomorrow. Oh well. Good show Carol, despite the numerous issues you had getting Ben interviewed. He was quite the sport, especially when you and…

Oh and again Kelly, congratulations! Doing the Whole30 has me obviously avoiding the scale, which for me is a GOOD thing. I have obsessed over the scale for quite some time and I really don't want to anymore. I'm not sure if I will even step on it after I complete the 30 days. We'll see. I might need that 'reference point'…

Heron, I completely understand what you're saying about 'putting your face on'. I used to try to wear makeup every day but I got tired of it and now it's a 'special occasion' type of thing. I guess I look halfway decent without it (don't ask John or Carol though, they may tell the truth - hehehe). Self acceptance is a huge…

Good morning everybody. I hope your week has been going well. I'm already in 'vacation mode' even though I still have another week and a half until I head out to Arizona for the Memorial Day weekend. A good day back on Whole30. Water consumption increased dramatically yesterday and finally I'm not feeling so dehydrated. I…

John, great detailed description of your TM experience and fantastic information for others who will be doing their first TM (me - hehehe). I could see that Carol as definitely playing the leader of the Gun Runners. She was out front, taking charge and from what I could tell, showed no fear (although I know I didn't see…

Ok, I'll quit spamming the thread today. Last post. I cannot emphasis enough the importance of drinking enough water. I completely failed in that over the weekend and am only feeling better this morning. So, drink that water and if you feel yourself getting dehydrated, drink more!

Thanks John. Everybody here is so awesome, so I wouldn't expect anybody having a problem with my post. Thank you again for the kind words and for letting me be part of the Gun Runners. Carol totally stuck to Whole30 and said 'NO WAY' to the chocolate. Although I know she really wanted some.

 Thanks. I hoped I didn't miss anything. I can only recall so much information, you know (hehehe). What a great weekend! Counting down to Vegas!
-
Good morning everybody. Happy to see you home safe and sound John. Again, was wonderful to meet you this weekend. Five months to Vegas! Heron, that was very sweet of Arturo. I love it - Doggy Moma Day.

Thanks Kim. Well I did have a bit of a hiccup yesterday, so I'm going to extend my Whole30 a week. TJ, I completely understand. Looks like we're both starting over. But overall I am feeling better and more motivated.

Thank you Angela.

I wanted to post this earlier but I've struggled all afternoon to come with with something. I'm just giving up and posting whatever I spills from me. This is going to be a little personal and I bit embarrassing. I am posting it publicly, even with the embarrassing stuff, because I want everybody know how this community and…

I concur with Carol on needing to get together "period" (see what I did there Carol - hehehe) BTW, cold weather or not, Carol kicked butt yesterday. She showed that Mudder who's boss. Next stop, Las Vegas!!!! Want to be a Tough Mudder spectator? FORGET IT!!!! PARTICIPATE!!!! I regret not participating yesterday, even…

Kim, are you doubting the fine folks at Monsanto? ;)
-
Thank you Heron. I've been buying pastured eggs and not having any issues with them. We have a few amazing farmers in the area who sell at the farmers markets. So I'll be checking some of them out this year. Off to the Tough Mudder Chicago weekend. Have a great weekend everybody!

Kevin, I"m so sorry to hear about your daughter. I cannot even imagine what your wife, you and your family are going through. I'll keep all you in my thoughts and prayers. (((HUGS)))

Thanks Heron. I'll probably stick to the ones in oil. Kim and I talked a little about meat and what I had been able to determine when I have had GI issues. I'm actually pretty sure it's been the standard grain fed meat that's been the issue. I have only recently had pasture raised meat. Going to keep better track of what I…

I had a great time as well Kim. Glad we were able to get together. Ah yes, 'beautiful' Peru. Safe travels back home. 400th post!!! Woohoo!!!!!

Check out the Wild Planet brand. I don't know what size sardines are supposed to be but some reviews I read about them said they are bigger than normal. I know they taste good (not fishy at all). I tried the ones in olive oil. I'll get the ones in water next. Definitely going to be a good thing to have around for salads or…
-
TJ, I made sure that the sardines were deboned or unboned or relieved of it's bones. I'm find with shrimp tails but not a big fan of fish bones.
-
No John, I'm not worried about rain. Storms is more of a worry and hopefully they hold off. Remember, I'm not a PARTICIPANT!!!   Whole30 seems to be going ok. Only back to drinking water, eating lots of fruits and veggies. Have not yet cut the meat out, as I have been eating bacon for breakfast.…

Good morning everybody. It's Wednesday. Are the Gun Runners ready for Saturday? Just a few more days!!! Just checked the weather - rain planned.
-
Health reasons - I've had GI issues in the past and limiting my meat intake seems to help.
-
Completely intentional TJ. I'm not heading out the yard to grab up some crickets for cricket stir-fry anytime soon! BTW, I wish I was up only 8lbs. I actually decided to not weigh myself yesterday. I'll weigh myself after the 30 days. I know I won't have the starting point but honestly, I don't want to know what it…

Tuesday morning. Yes John, I'm not sure if I'll ever eliminate animal protein completely but I'm just limiting what I do eat. For now, I'll do my best to get through the 30 days sticking to the rules. :)
-
Thanks. I'm going to have a bit of a difficult time finding something besides seafood or protein (I'm not eating vegan, obviously, but I want to kick meat out of my eating and the 'faux' meats are a no-no on Whole30 as they all use soy or other legume protein). I've kicked the soda and most sugars in the past but they…

Let me be the first to welcome you! I LOVE the Fat2FitHQ podcasts and the people here in the group. Carol is awesometastic, even though she keeps talking me into doing things (she's a very persuasive one - hehehe). How was your first Whole30? I'm starting my first today. Again, welcome to the Fat2FitHQ world!
-
Carol, hopefully I'll be able to find you at the airport. I haven't been to O'Hara in over 15 years. We'll be in contact. And how the heck did my 'I'm just coming up to watch you guys run' turn into 'I'm staying the weekend'? You are VERY persuasive Carol.

That's what I figured. Darn it! I guess it's just fish and other seafood for me then. Thanks John. I just found this version of the shopping list for vegans/vegetarians which says that organic tempeh and tofu can be used as proteins (http://whole30.com/downloads/whole30-veg-shopping-list.pdf). The updated one really gives…

Good morning everybody. Reading up on the Whole30 so I can go shopping this morning and fill up the fridge. The local outdoor farmers market started yesterday and I grabbed some salad mix, radishes, asparagus & sprouts. A good start to the season. I'm still planning on doing a more vegetarian/vegan wanna-be version of…
