Hi, one ot two have asked what ice wine is. I don't drink wine (migraines) but I will tell you the little I know. When the grapes are harvested for normal wine, so many are left on the vines. When they are completely frozen they are picked and the juice squeezed out as in normal wine making. It makes for a very sweet…

Marie I Just read your other post on sneakers and you mentioned "back from the future". I was thinking Marie, if only your husband could figure out how to go further BACK in time, say 1960, you guys would make a fortune!

Morning Marie, thanks for the laugh! I have a large calendar on my kitchen wall and every morning as soon as I stumble to the kitchen in my pj's I mark a cross through the past day, otherwise I can do the same thing. Daily Project for your sweetie? Never mind, you are all done and dusted for today. By the way, next time…

I'm sorry too Bob. It's hard losing all of our friends, an aspect of growing older I hadn't anticipated when younger. Anne.

Afternoon Goldie's. Too cold to venture forth up here in Ontario. I will stay in and maybe start a new painting. It will NOT be a still life of food. I am not a very good artist, self taught, but it does keep me distracted on frigid days and the mind off food! Hope you are home safe and sound Marie. Anne

I think I'm going to join you SHIRLEY and go back to Fahrenheit, all this Celsius stuff is so confusing. I've never tried ice wine either, but I am allergic to all wines except Bristol cream sherry. Yes, JACKIE I am pretty close to Niagara. I believe Shirley mentioned somewhere she is too, so we could be neighbours,…

I keep saying centigrade, I'm getting addled. It's CELSIUS.

P.S. -18 centigrade today, - 30 C with the wind chill. Poor birds!

Morning all, I won't say good!!!! Cold up here with snow, and earthquakes in Dallas! LIN - freezing. MARIE are you still going for your check up, take care if you are. BECKY - with all the heartache in your poor family. I was happy with Fahrenheit in the UK BUZZ, but have lost the sense of it now. Somehow -16C seems warmer…

Hi Lin, I'm not very good at conversion but is -16 Centigrade, here in Canada, 3.2 Fahrenheit in the USA? It seems very low, 3.2F. Never was very good at maths, but I would be interested in the correct answer. Anne

Swissmiss Becky? That is the most terrible news. Your poor family, Anne.

PLEASE was the last word on page 14, so I wonder if that is the problem, not landing up on the correct page? So, going back to FACE OFF

Oh yes Lin, it's very cold. I bundled up to take a short walk this pm and it was -14 C with a wind chill factor of -26 C. Tomorrow, daytime, it's -16 C, same wind chill. The grapes are being harvested to make this year's ice wine. There's a rush on apparently because the temperature has to be just right and tomorrow's too…

Marie You have to wonder if that's what it does don't you. No idea.

Marie, did you try the old Vaseline trick in your nostrils? I did, lovely damp nose (like Honey, lol) and I just had to blow my nose this morning. It does seem odd but it works for me. Also, if you remember to do it before going out, it seems to prevent catching colds from others. Anne.
