  • I will share one yoga pose from time to time. I only do about 5 of them for the moment. Corpse pose (savasana) I usually do it every morning and sometimes at night just before going to sleep. It is the first pose that they teach us. It is very calming and grounding and allows you to assess what is happening in your body,…
  • Hey Liz, can you post the link to the article please? It is a great tip Noodle, thanks. Woolworths sells a lot of their bulk foods package in small lunch box packets, so for example the fruit and nuts that I put in my yoghurt each day come in bulk packs of 10 x 30gr. It's brilliant because I don't have to weigh them and I…
  • Gosh! So much happens in one week. MS - I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. Don't rush into trying to do anything but grieve at this time. It absolutely normally to feel overwhelmed, sad, angry and a whole gambit of other emotions at this time. Allow it to be what it needs to be. Sending huge hugs and healing energy to…
  • Hi there. You can add me. I press the like button on occasion but mainly prefer commenting and jumping in when people actually post statuses. I'm also part of a very motivating community - even if we are a little quieter than usual but we have really helped each other through this journey and share a lot of stuff... good &…
  • No! I have the vivofit which counts everything most of the time. The only time it counts badly is if I am pushing a trolley in a shopping mall, when my hand is at waist height and not really moving. Otherwise it records everything. It might be a calibration issue. Go to a sportshop, they may be able to assist you.
  • Jeez guys! The intent is there, the effort is there and we are all human beings. Forgetting to log in and losing the streak for one day messes your sense of achievement it up. It is not a rational thing at all but it helps some of us stay on tracking knowing that since the beginning we have remained committed to…
  • You and Daddy must be so very proud of your daughter Cindy. She looks absolutely gorgeous in that royal blue dress too. I hope that she had the most amazing time. Do try to get some rest. I will post the yoga post tomorrow. I have just been busy with small but necessary things. I'm not going to do the BL 18 but I will…
  • I can also confirm that the HRM signal does not reach the foreunner under water and that it is waterproof! I wear the forerunner to log the time and then manually add the laps in Garmin Connect, which then calculates the number of calories burnt. It does not however give any information about the heart for the duration of…
  • Yes I do at the gym. I try to go at least once a week.
  • Thank you Virgin Goddess. I will look it up,
  • Thank you for your input. I think you are right. Both my scale and the mechanical measurements (tape measures, calipers and a little hand held gadget) indicate the same measurements for the BMI and body fat. The dietician is also working with me on that because she has mentioned the same concern. Would there be specialized…
  • Thank you! I will set up an appointment with the physiotherapist. That will most likely help a lot.
  • Yes I am working with a dietician who is also working with me on my fitness plan. It's taking a this long to just get to making sure I get 1200 in per day without skipping days. Thank you for your suggestion anyway.
  • The baby steps approach is really the best thing that you are already doing. Adding yoga will be a huge bonus, I only started two weeks ago and wonder why I didn't do it before. Getting out of bed... Yoga will also help three because you can start your routine in bed... Because you have started it, the flow of the routine…
  • I wear my forerunner and the vivofit when doing cardio at the gym. I found it to be more accurate because the forerunner loses connection during certain moves and tells me the HRM is out of range or it tells my heart rate is too low, then stops measuring. The vivofit never loses the connection and never stops measuring.…
  • The vivofit displays the heart rate continuously until you switch it to something else. It sinks with garmin HRM that I use with my forerunner 70. It tracks steps and sleep.
  • Have a fabulous weekend everyone. I have to switch to strength exercises. My ankle is fully healed but I had to get the walking stick out again because I have damaged my tendon on the same foot. This time I was not doing anything strenuous it is just from walking up the steep walkways yo my office. They have given me…
  • Cindy I wasn't sure about posting the yoga stuff here, so I created another discussion post for things like that so that it can easily be found by others later. Liz I had inboxed you, did you get the yoga details? Jen so glad you are giving the Supermom cape a rest :D I have to get to work but will post the links there…
  • Fantastic NSV Marcella!
  • Check your iron levels. But your doc would probably have to send you for blood tests. It could be a sign of anem

  • She is amazing! I'm gonna be like her at the same age!
  • Gosh! There is so much catching up to do. Jen I'm so happy to hear that your surgery went well. Like Cindy says, take your time in getting back on your feet. You've got more than enough time to return to being the super dupa, mother, daughter, wife, nurse, cook, psychologist and all the other things that you are so take a…
  • Yes I think it is. I feel like I'm on fire. They taught us yoga moves to give us energy and to lift depressive states. They also taught us calming ones. All it takes is 15 to 30 minutes  And I got some awesome news but now I have to run  Btw Liz! You are an amazing woman!!! And so are you too Cindy!!!
  • Just leaving this here.... Happy! Happy! Happy! Happy! Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth Because I'm happy Clap along if you know what happiness is to you Because I'm happy Clap along if you feel like that's what you…
  • Gosh we are a busy, travelling lot  Just popping in quickly to say I'm away on a yoga retreat for the weekend. I'll also be away from the computers. I'll just checkin with my phone so that I don't lose my streak - if I have a signal that is :D Enjoy your weekend me lovely ladies. Cindy I will let Taz Team know we…
  • I'm also in low impact recovery after fracturing my fibula a few weeks ago. No running for 3 to 6 months and only low impact activities. It feels fine but I reinjured it last week because I thought it was okay!
  • Jen I hope you are not feeling too woozy from the anesthesia and that you are resting nicely. Cindy that does sound quite hectic. What is it used for? Liz how is the renovating coming along? MD is it hump day yet where you are? Enjoy the rest of the week ladies. :D
  • I'm not sure what goals to set this week. I'm finally happy with breakfast and lunch. I'm eating 3 times a day but dinner is the least balanced. I'm sticking with 5 days x 30 minutes exercise.
  • It's nice to see you pop in Barbs. As you know we are here to support, motivate and share our stories of our journeys, with the good, the bad and the ugly days. You know what works for you and what doesn't and you also know that you can do it, which is a tremendous plus, because you know what it also feels like to do…
