So did I - and that way around! I thought I was the only person to have believed that!

Many thanks for your replies. Initially i took it for granted that if I scanned an item using the barcode that this would be perfect. For example, today's scan of a slice of honey sunflower bread (at 53 calories per slice) proved the point - a more thorough search revealed several more values - including some that gave…

Ah, thank you. Really useful

Hi I'm Caddi, 57, British IT trainer on the NHS. I have lost 5 stone (70lb) in the past three years and still have two to lose. Because I'm less than 5ft tall I get a bare minimum calories so no leeway at all. Yesterday DH had hand surgery on what may or not be cancer and I was in such a state yesterday. I managed to keep…

I've just logged 533 calories over the 1284 I have daily, nearly half as much again! . It went on loads of bits, and I'm properly annoyed at myself.

My confession: I'm sat in Carluccio's whilst my hubby is undergoing surgery and I'm petrified. I'm feeling sick and scared and not sure i can walk past Thornton's and Millie's and all the other shops selling edibles without bingeing. I feel so powerless just waiting for him to come out of theatre and for them to let me…

When I was a teenager I used to live off toast, buttered, then toasted again, buttered again and toasted again. Sometimes I made buttercream (butter and icing sugar) sandwiches. Chocolate buttercream sandwiches were my favourite. The worst of it was that it was the most hideous white bread and the buttercream was much…

Oh, I do that too; tonight I have added two liquorice allsorts to tomorrow's.

No, I'm not angry. I don't hate myself or blame myself. This is not punishment for overeating in the past, it's just what I have to do now and for the rest of my life. It's like cleaning my teeth - sure it takes me a bit of time but the alternative is less pleasant. If you don't mind me saying, I think that you should be…

I took your advice and weighed myself and today's weight is 2.1lb down. That rate proves what you all said

I saw GOTG recently, my first marvel film and loved it. I don't know where to go from there though. (access to Sky uk) Any suggestions welcome. Also not seen or read any Game of Thrones; looking to remedy that at some point. I loved Being Human, but am not hugely into vampires and zombies nowadays as I'm mainly into sci-fi…

So don't be a Sheldon, eh? Ah, thank you for restoring my faith. I'm on it!

Tonight I decided to have some wine. It's over now as far as I'm concerned, and I am glad that I did it. I wondered if anyone wants to aim for just weekends or a target off maybe 10 units a week (though 6 might be plenty per week?). Any comments?
-
Thank you all very much. I will take your advice.

I'm still going strong and plan to keep it up until the start of February. I thought of doing until next weekend because I want to keep alcohol just for weekends, though my sister is visiting next Friday so I imagine that I will share some wine with her. The biggest issue for me is the wine we put in cooking and the hot…

The more I learn about other geeky things the more I get into them! But I was always a Dr Who fan. There is a ComicCon in Preston this year, Yay, I'll be there.

I will not eat those *spare* calories.

What I ate yesterday I thought was potato hash, but it certainly wasn't a stew. I had thought hash browns were little patties of some sort whereas this was just a mixture (I think) of fried onions, potatoes, jalapenos, herbs, etc. I suppose part of my difficulty is that I have no idea how much of it there was, I just…

Oh, thank you, I didn't see that!

I play Lotro mostly, and often follow world chat but if there are jerks on there I use /ignore. I'm usually on an RP server so the is little offensive stuff, though we did have some griefers and at first the DMs were very slow about reacting, last time they were quicker. It annoys me that there are some ppeople who want to…

My son is a huge board gamer and social and each time he visits he brings a range of games. This Christmas it was cards against humanity and ticket to ride that we played; in fact we played Ttr for hours on end. I can't wait for him to coto again just to play it again!

Also @Arshness I home educated/unschooled my lovely son - he is now 31 and another success story for home education (not home schooling!). We are a Nu-Queer family btw.

Last time I met my son in Manchester we did that - awesome. I could watch it over and over and not get bored!

I am geeking out over my game, but tomorrow I will be geeking out totally with my son. We are off to Manchester to the Moose coffee house where we will talk 3D printers, Linux, tech in general and we may go to the cinema too. I might be geeking over my tablet later - I really need to redo it - wipe it and reinstall.

Don't beat yourself up, it won't help you any. You really need to stop hating yourself too. Just step back a moment and look at yourself from the point of view of someone who is trying to help you. They would say nice things to you, encourage you. Be that person who is kind to you - I tell you, you deserve it! A few years…

I'll probably go into Lotro and play my theorbo (I'm a roleplayer minstrel). I might kill a few goblins or orcs.

Hi all, I'm Caddi, I'm in my fifties and have been gaming since I first got my 386dx. I started with Tetris, Brix and Transport Tycoon. My favorite MMORPG atm is LOTRO but in have far too many games on my steam account. Currently playing Civilisation and Solar, Plus7words on my mobile. I spend too much time gaming, really.…
