  • Day 3 Still on track with tracking my food. Yoga class last night and Reformer tonight. 1/2 pound down from Monday.
  • Day 2 No exercise yesterday and slightly over on calories. Today have a Yoga class in the evening and will be within my calories. I need to start adding exercise in on those days I don't have Yoga or Pilates. Time to dust off the treadmill.
  • I think there are quite a few of us who've been there. My mom died a year ago and I just forgot about everything (diet and exercise) for a while. I'm ready to get serious now and I know she'd want me to be healthy. We can't change the past but we can choose to make healthy choices today - at least, that's what I'm trying…
  • This is just what I need to keep motivated. As an added bonus - have a family reunion on July 4th and would love to be 20lbs lighter for that.
  • I'm really committed to this challenge and have pre-planned my meals for today. I can stick to it with no wine at dinner, no stuffing, and no dessert (did allow for a Laura Secord chocolate egg!).
  • Just went back to it and think I've added myself.
  • Hmm - I'm also having trouble adding my name. This is just what I need for motivation and I can keep track myself.
  • Thanks! I find that the pounds I put on quickly tend to come off quickly - it's the weight that I've slowly put on over the past few years that's harder to budge.
  • I know what you mean about the booze (had a few glasses of wine this weekend, but it's not something I do very often). About 15 years ago I lost 90 lbs in a year doing Weight Watchers. Slowly, I've put it almost all back on and it's not healthy. We WILL do this!
  • Welcome from someone else who lost weight and slowly put it back on. I'm determined to make it stick this time. Started tracking in January and I've lost 10 lbs now. Soup works really well for me, it's warm and filling, and not too many calories. I've got a long way to go, but am confident I'll get there.
  • My goal for February is just to maintain/not gain. On vacation for 2 weeks starting the 17th - looking forward to some sun and sand but will need to watch my eating/drinking. Not normally a big drinker, but those pina coladas taste so good.... and packed with calories.
  • Chrissy, I'm in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. It was -38C with the windchill this morning. Hard to do anything at all outside in those temps. On a positive note, I'm eating a healthy beef stew for lunch my husband made on the weekend. Warm and filling - it's perfect for this weather.
  • I'm still hanging in! Bitter cold (-30C) temps have curtailed my riding but I've been getting on the treadmill and going to Yoga. Out of town for 2 days this week on business and I think I'm going to pack a couple of lunches instead of eating out. Welcome, Chrissy!
  • My challenge today is going to lunch at Boston Pizza with a former colleague. Have looked at the menu online and have decided on an individual veggie pizza. Will eat half and save the other half for lunch tomorrow. Eating out is hard when you're trying to watch calories.
  • Ouch, Paytra - nothing worse than a sore back. A short walk sounds like a good idea. I'm off to Yoga tonight.
  • So, how did everybody do over the weekend? I walked on the treadmill Saturday and rode my horse on Sunday and stayed within calorie amount. Here's to a good week :)
  • Well, we managed to reach a tentative agreement late (very late) Tuesday, so negotiations are over! The bad news is that I missed two day of exercising. The good news is that I'm back on track today and caught up on my sleep. Will go to Yoga tonight and weather is supposed to warm up enough that I should be able to ride on…
  • Welcome from another early riser.
  • Paytra, thanks for the mint idea - I'll have to see if I can find them. You're absolutely right about the almonds - I have to be careful to count them out but it's too easy to get carried away. Mindless snacking is my downfall. - By the way, probably should have introduced myself properly before - my name is Nancy!
  • I think we're all doing well! My challenge this week will be starting tomorrow as we go into negotiations for our collective agreement with the Union. Lots of sitting around a hotel meeting room with endless snacking opportunities. I am prepared with healthy snacks (fruit, almonds) and will keep my goals in mind. Wish me…
  • Wow - 70 minutes on the treadmill - I'm impressed. I need to build up my time. Still hovering around 30 minutes, walking at 3.5. - Temps have finally warmed up enough so that I'll get out for a ride on my horse this afternoon.
  • I started doing both a couple of months ago and have never slept better! Also improving my strength and flexibility. Highly recommend.
  • Thanks for the support on this - I know last week wasn't sustainable (but it was nice to see the scales move). I'm not giving up - will stick to it.
  • I'm trying not to lose my motivation - have stuck to my calorie limit, exercised at least 30 minutes every day and haven't lost a single pound the second week! The first week I seemed to drop a 1/2 pound every day, and I know that's probably just the quick holiday weight gain dropping off, I want/need to see some results.…
  • I think the important thing to do is just get back on track - don't let a "bad" day(s) derail you. It happens to all of us. What I'm hoping to accomplish by using MFP and the group is to hold myself accountable and keep on with the program I set myself. Had lunch out yesterday and while I was within my calories for the…
  • Good for you Paytra! I was stuck on the treadmill yesterday because it's still very cold here. Tonight is Pilates/Reformer class. So far I haven't missed a sticker :)
  • Doing OK so far - I think the fact that I've set myself this challenge is helping. Went to a Reformer class this morning and out to the barn to see my horse this evening - too cold to ride, but I like to visit anyway.
  • Good for you Paytra! I've got a Reformer class scheduled today that I"m looking forward to. My challenge on the weekend is to watch my eating - it's a lot easier at work when all that's available is what I brought with me.
  • Well, had a bit of a tough day yesterday - really cold, tired, and hungry. Not sure if I'm coming down with something. Decided not to go to Yoga but walked on the treadmill at home for 30 minutes - I HAD to earn my sticker!
  • Thank you for sharing - you are truly an inspiration.
