A friend of mine called me a 'skinny minny'. I hadn't seen her for a good 12 months apparently, and even later that night she said I had really lost some weight! I assured her that I haven't really lost a lot (which is true) but i think I have lost a few inches since I started using weights at the gym as well as working…

I did it a few years ago - in my late 20's and NEVER a runner. Finished it and kept running until life changed (I had twins) in my early 30's. I'm 36 now, and my kids turn 3 in December -I am just starting to try and reclaim some fitness. I am up to the end of week 5 so my next run is 20mins! Nervous, but I know I can do…

I noticed a teeny, tiny little proto-bicep on my arm. It a dear sweet little thing, I should name it. Them - I should name them. It's not just one arm. LOL

Is it worse after resting? I had plantar fasciitis and a heel spur which felt pretty awful. It will feel very sore under your foot, like it's under your arch up to the ball of your foot. It was worse after resting, and I had to ice it and roll a tennis ball under my foot, do arch exercises and stretch my calves as often as…

I recently had a similar gaining experience. I started going the gym and each week i gained something like half a pound, then around week 4 I lost about 4-5 lb. Hang in there. Give it a few weeks.

I think my jeans aren't as tight. They don't look so much like leggings anymore... they are the cheapest Kmart jeans ever, but am pretty sure they don't just suddenly give way and stretch all over like that.

I always say 'You're so heavy!' when I pick one of the girls up... she's 17-18kg and not even 3 years old. Her sister is almost 2kg lighter. I go to the gym most mornings before they get out of bed, and my husband gets them up and gives them a drink. They know I go to this place called 'gym', and they have been told that…

My husband told me about this drug this morning... I guess he might be trying to tell me something! :D

There is an almost empty jar of Nutella in the pantry, and I have NOT ONCE sat down with it + a spoon. It has been used almost exclusively for sandwiches for the kids, and husband. I have licked a butterknife or 2, but it has lasted in the cupboard for aaaages!

I'm on week 4, but did this program a few years ago (before children!). Its great, just remember to slow down if you have to! Speed will come later, just work on your endurance. Good luck to us all!

Good job! I'm the same height but have a higher start weight (about 220) - your pics are very motivating, thank you!

I did it years ago and have restarted it recently. I am a fair bit heavier than I was back then, but am still having a go! I am halfway through week 4 and agree, take it slowly. I use a treadmill at the gym and have it set on about 5.5 (km/hr) for both walking and the 'running' part. I will keep the runs slow until I…

Haha, trophy wife! I was thinking that when I get to my goal weight I should get a shirt that says 'trophy wife'. I could get it now but the irony would be monstrous... :-D I want to stop the cycle of yoyo diets and body hating in my family. My girls are so different, one is much heavier and broader (so muscly!) and the…

I recently started at a gym and I find everyone else is busy with their own stuff and unless i am wandering back and forth looking lost or hopeless, nobody gives me a 2nd glance.

I have been doing a mix of potato and turnip/swede/cauliflower to lighten it up. Season it well and add a dollop of low fat cream cheese. I also pulse it in my processor to get it all smooth, and the mix of veges makes sure it doesn't go all gluey as long as you don't overdo it.

So many reasons... 1. I have twin girls who turn 3 in December. I want to be happy to be in pictures with them 2. I want my girls to see a strong and healthy mother as a role model, and not to hate their bodies like my mother does 3. I have rampant diabetes in my family 4. My Mom gave me some shorts she was getting rid of…

These are all really great perspectives, thank you. Yes, the time will pass anyway, won't it? Good point. My twins turn 3 in December, so I'm trying to keep in mind that I would actually like to have some photos of them with me that I am happy to share with the world, not just photos of them. Plus I'm in the…

I kinda understand this, as when I am losing weight I am ending up between sizes and just look a bit ruffled and unkept. Trousers end up with a saggy bum but waistband is still fine, things like that. I also get a bony looking chest/collarbone area that looks dodgy when the rest of me is still very squishy - like if you…

Good to hear, ana3067 & LAWoman72. I've been feeling a bit lost, trying to find the right way for me to lose but not be miserable or pedantic. MFP has me maintaining at 2170, and I think my activity level is close to accurate because some days I really don't do much except potter around with the toddlers, do laundry, go to…

All good things to consider. I eat with my kids other than dinnertime. So I have breakfast with them roughly 8-830am which is brutal because I'm awake well before then.I have been making sure I have a big breakfast including a full 250ml of milk, because lunch isn't until nearly 2pm some days thanks to their current…

Thank you very much for your responses. I might try a few weeks with a smaller deficit and see how I go. The 'less wiggle room' idea makes me nervous, but it is good incentive to be more active where possible. And yes, higher protein and fats is something I have considered - particularly the idea of animal based protein as…

I'm at about 1550 cal with 37lbs to lose.

I'm 5'10 and aiming for about 176. I have a large build. Once I get there I will know if that will work for me - it was fine a few years back before I had kids but this whole post-partum gig has me unsure. 177.

I was getting the shots every 2 weeks, and am now starting to have them every 3 weeks. My levels were quite deficient, though. I have noticed some improvements in mood and energy. There is some debate as to whether taking it orally has as much benefit as injections, and I have read about sublingual tabs that supposedly…

This made me laugh. My count is very low on an average day too, unless I get out and go for a walk. I have twins, 26 months old. I do keep busy as a Stay at Home Mum eg, right now they are napping so I am resting. But I have a tiny house! So moving from room to room to get things done is only a dozen or so steps. Many…

I should add, that it' likely around 5kg I kinda notice a difference

It takes a while for me, as I am tall-ish (176 cm) with a fair bit to lose. And because of my weight distribution, a pant size takes a goodly while. Eg I am currently a 16-18 (Australia) and my goal is to be about 12-14. I was that size about 20kg ago, but it's hard to tell as when I previously gained and lost weight it…

Hmmm, I had this issue last year. Lost 12kg in 6mths and ran out of steam (plus I got the flu, Husband diagnosed with chronic illness, I ave 2yo twins)... I just gave up. Put 8kg back on in 4 months! I'm 35 and my husband is 40, but he's in pretty good shape. I am squishy, very squishy, with 20kg to lose. Am trying to find…
