I'm glad she is doing better, thanks for the update.

Oh my, sorry to hear about your mom Sannferris.

Good late evening. Had some rain very early am and some again this afternoon so I did not water the garden. Been a very slow day today because of the rain, I just want to sleep when it rains, lol. I did the dishes and a load of laundry but that's about it until we went out for dinner with some friends. Went to a mexican…

Good late evening. It's been a couple of blah days for me I guess. I did my usual watering in the garden this morning and promptly sat on my rear end until I told myself I needed to do something. So, I decided to get some tomato seeds started for my fall crop. I have decided not to use the cuttings I took from the plants I…

Good morning, it's 89 degrees and 46% humidity. It sprinkled a little this morning so it was much cooler when I went out to water. No heat index warnings as of yet today, maybe we get to cool off a little today. The watermelon keeps growing and I think I might have another big one coming on. Seems it's at least 10 pounds…

Isyvanek-You can buy that pillow on Amazon too!

Mygnsac, I'm amazed you can't get a decent watermelon out there. Used to be all fruits and vegetables were excellent coming from California. Sad. Is that fish sandwich a new item on the menu? I'd love to have a good fish sandwich.

Sannferris-poison a few pieces of corn on the cob. Mygnsac-Wow, I hope you heal quickly. Has cisco decided to be friends with the neighbor dog or just be bullied instead? LOL. Good morning everyone, it's 85 degrees and 68% humidity out there right now. I came in an hour ago and it was 81 degrees and 80% humidity then. At…

It'll be interesting to know what you find Sannferris. Good morning everyone, it's 80 degrees and 85% humidity with a heat index of 105-109 again today. I watered and sprayed the garden with neem oil this morning, because while removing the tomato plants yesterday, I noticed white flies everywhere. So, tomorrow I will feed…

Good afternoon everyone, it's 93 degrees and 53% humidity out there right now. Our heat index is 105-109 again today. It's hot but dry out there which is much easier to handle than hot and wet with humidity. After I watered the garden this morning I removed the last two tomato plants and it's getting bare out there, lol.…

Good morning everyone, It's 86 degrees and 65% humidity out there right now. It was a bit cooler earlier this morning at 81 degrees and 78% humidity. I was able to get two cherry tomato plants removed from the garden today which leaves three tomato plants to take out sometime this week. I'm all icky sweaty now too. Sheesh,…

Good afternoon everyone, had some friends come in yesterday and now they have gone home. Made a nice big breakfast and included my first watermelon in a fruit bowl including blueberries and green grapes. Yep, you read that right, we picked our first watermelon out of the garden yesterday and it was 17 pounds, eek! Hubby…

Good morning everyone, it's bright and sun shiny out there with 91 degrees and 55% humidity right now at 10:30 Central time. We have a high heat index warning of 105 to 109 degrees again today. I didn't pull any new tomato plants today because it was warming up too fast and I also sprayed again for the mites. The plants…

Coming in for an update on the new support travel pillows. Got them in today and tried them out already. I think they would be great for traveling and are comfortable using while laying on the couch. For support they need a high top style chair, if your chair is only shoulder height I can't see it working. Hubby also tried…

Good morning everyone, it's 80 degrees and 80% humidity out there. Just 10 minutes ago it was 78 degrees and 84% humidity. So strange how our weather changes on a dime. We had a good downpour about 4 am this morning but I just pulled two tomato plants and the soil is not very wet. It is moist, but not wet and this explains…

Good morning everyone, it's 76 degrees and 88% humidity outside right now. Just came in from watering and have decided I will be pulling the tomatoes over the next few days, they are not setting new tomatoes but there are tons of flowers on the cherry tomato. It's too hot to cut them down all at once because the sun will…

Sanferris-I did not send you an email. I have no idea what that would be.

Good morning everyone, it's 75 degrees and 88% humidity out there this morning. It feels wonderful and we have a chance of rain today and tonight. We'll see how that goes but I did already water anyway because my containers cannot go without water. I took some more tomato cuttings from my husky cherry and also some from my…

Good morning everyone, today will be another one of those high heat index of 105-109 degrees. It is currently 80 degrees and 84% humidity out there and I haven't even gone out to water yet. Still waiting until it's light enough out there to check things out. Yesterday I noticed two of my watermelons have stopped growing…

LOL, Annie sleeps on the bed, but not on my pillow and I did allow my dog at my feet, just not between us and pushing me off the bed. I am somewhat soft.

Mygnsac, I once did one of those surveys "Are you a true lover of cats?" and failed it because I said I would kick the cat out of my chair when I wanted to sit down. Would I allow the cat to take over my pillow and I said "No". Would I allow the cat to be on the counters in my kitchen, or on my tables, I said "NO". I…

Arobed53-That recipe is really good. A cast iron dutch oven surrounds the food in heat while in the oven with the lid on making the cook time less. It will steam bread which results in a great crust and moist tender inside. I haven't made any yet but I have had some baked in a dutch oven before. It's much different than a…

Sanferris-Let's try that link again. Sorry it went to the wrong thing. That pillow is a travel pillow with a front neck support and a much better design than the donut style travel pillow. I know she was having some problems with her neck hurting, and not being able to support it very well. This might be the ticket for her…

I wonder if this pillow would help Christine with her neck? Does anyone know how to reach her? http://www.qvc.com/ItemsRecentlyOnAirView?storeId=10251&catalogId=10151&langId=-1

Had to come back and post this link to rooting tomato plant cuttings in water. I think I will do this instead of buying potting mix to plant them in. If I root them in water then I can plant them directly in my growing mix I already have made up. They should do very well out there after they get lots of roots on them. Lord…

Good evening everyone. I didn't sleep a wink last night so went to bed around 12:30 and slept until 7:30 tonight. It's going to be another long night I think. We put the hammock's on all the other watermelons and I found the tendril on my big watermelon is starting to turn brown. I think it will be another two weeks or so…

Good morning everyone, it's 86 degrees and 63% humidity. We were supposed to get some rain tomorrow but now they have changed it to Tuesday and Wednesday instead. I fed everything in the garden today and I sprayed with Neem oil and think I will take some cuttings tonight. I have plenty of mix to pot them up into. While…

That toilet saga is too funny. I'd go down the street too, lol. Good morning everyone, it's 84 degrees and 68% humidity outside. Watered this morning and tried out the new hammock for the watermelon. Think it's a winner for sure. I took some old white knitted shade cloth and put grommets in each corner, then secured it to…
-
Good morning everyone, it's 81 degrees and 72% humidity out there right now. I watered the garden this morning and pulled the green beans too. This opens up the bed that the watermelon is growing in so I was able to lay three of the vines on the bed to grow there. This will help provide more room on the trellis for the…

I had to come back and tell you all what I just discovered. Well, I knew I could do this but I had forgotten how to do it. So, I want to take some cuttings from the Homestead Heritage tomato plant and root them to grow for the fall season. I am going to do the same for the cherry tomato plants I have too. I will have to…
